Will NASA announce that 2018 was the hottest year on record?{"longDescription":"In the first quarter of every year, NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies releases their temperature data analysis for the previous year. Usually this happens in January, but some years it has been delayed until February. For example, in January 2016 they announced that 2015 was the hottest year on record, and in January 2017 they announced that 2016 was the hottest year on record. Currently the ranking of years according to GISS's mean surface temperature data (based on land and ocean) is 2016, then 2017, then 2015, and then 2014. Will 2018 set a new record?
