dissolve-the-dunaI’ve been against the DUNA structure since day one because, to me, it goes completely against the ethos of crypto and what made Nouns DAO so unique in the first place...open coordination, creativity, and the freedom to be weird without bureaucracy weighing us down.
The whole point of decentralization is to experiment outside of the old systems... not to wrap ourselves back into them. The DUNA setup feels like we traded autonomy for a false sense of legitimacy.
The only part of the plan I ever supported was the 501c3 angle, because at least that created an opportunity for tax-deductible charitable giving which we know in the long run would most likely grow the Treasury greatly. But if that’s off the table, what’s the point of continuing with a structure that limits us more than it empowers us?
And on the liability topic, I know it’s been said that forming a US entity protects us, but honestly, the US is the last place I’d expect protection from lawsuits. If over 90% of the world’s litigation happens here, then haven’t we just made ourselves a bigger target?
Maybe it’s time we admit this model doesn’t fit the spirit or the function of what Nouns was built to be — decentralized and experimental in the best way possible.
