tomstr - a decentralized social network running on nostr<p><span style="color: rgb(0,0,0);background-color: transparent;font-size: 26pt;font-family: Arial;">tomstr proposal :</span></p>
<p><span style="color: rgb(0,0,0);background-color: transparent;font-size: 11pt;font-family: Arial;">Social networks have become essential tools for the world wide web, and the tomiNet will need its answer to the social networking requirements of users on the network. Advertising-driven models and data mining have corrupted the systems on Web2, but now it is time for something new: a native Web3 social network that sustains itself. </span><br></p>
<p><span style="color: rgb(0,0,0);background-color: transparent;font-size: 11pt;font-family: Arial;">The DAO will benefit by a 15% royalty payment from the tips paid to content creators on the network. The tomi network will benefit because tomstr will create the need for people to use the $TOMI tokens for participation in the network. </span><br></p>
<p><span style="color: rgb(0,0,0);background-color: transparent;font-size: 11pt;font-family: Arial;">Tomstr integrates blockchain and the $TOMI token for bot, scam, and illicit content posting, as well as for premium memberships and tips for content creators. Functionality of tomstr:</span></p>
<ul>
<li><span style="color: rgb(0,0,0);background-color: transparent;font-size: 11pt;font-family: Arial;">Short posts (twitter style), links, pictures, and video content.</span></li>
<li><span style="color: rgb(0,0,0);background-color: transparent;font-size: 11pt;font-family: Arial;">Chronological thread of those you follow. (no algorithmic manipulation of content)</span></li>
<li><span style="color: rgb(0,0,0);background-color: transparent;font-size: 11pt;font-family: Arial;">Hashtags and labels.</span></li>
<li><span style="color: rgb(0,0,0);background-color: transparent;font-size: 11pt;font-family: Arial;">Ability to create plug-ins for third parties. (for example, someone might invent a filter or feed algorithm)</span></li>
<li><span style="color: rgb(0,0,0);background-color: transparent;font-size: 11pt;font-family: Arial;">Moderation to eliminate violent and abusive content, scams, and bot content.</span></li>
<li><span style="color: rgb(0,0,0);background-color: transparent;font-size: 11pt;font-family: Arial;">Cryptocurrency integration to punish abusers</span></li>
<li><span style="color: rgb(0,0,0);background-color: transparent;font-size: 11pt;font-family: Arial;">Feed and social network export and portability. (users can download all their data and take their networks with them)</span></li>
<li><span style="color: rgb(0,0,0);background-color: transparent;font-size: 11pt;font-family: Arial;">Ability to post publicly, privately (DM) and to a closed network (only my followers), including the ability to restrict re-posting to within the network specified by the poster.</span><br></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="color: rgb(0,0,0);background-color: transparent;font-size: 11pt;font-family: Arial;">Everyone using the tomstr network needs to hold $TOMI. To sustain itself, tomstr uses a number of payment mechanisms:</span></p>
<ul>
<li><span style="color: rgb(0,0,0);background-color: transparent;font-size: 11pt;font-family: Arial;">Basic membership: Staking of 1 $TOMI token. If the user violates the code of conduct, their account is closed and the $TOMI goes to the moderators.</span></li>
<li><span style="color: rgb(0,0,0);background-color: transparent;font-size: 11pt;font-family: Arial;">Verified membership: Payment of equivalent in $TOMI of $50/year for verifiable credentials.</span></li>
<li><span style="color: rgb(0,0,0);background-color: transparent;font-size: 11pt;font-family: Arial;">Credentialed memberships: tomstr will develop specific credentials for people who demonstrate authority over time on specific topics. The network will develop subject matter expert committees based on people’s following to issue credentials that validate people’s authorities.</span></li>
<li><span style="color: rgb(0,0,0);background-color: transparent;font-size: 11pt;font-family: Arial;">Tipping of content creators, with 70% to the creator, 15% to the tomstr team and infrastructure, and 15% to the tomiDAO.</span></li>
<li><span style="color: rgb(0,0,0);background-color: transparent;font-size: 11pt;font-family: Arial;">Third-party usage costs. tomstr will provide interfaces for developers to create add-on tools. Add-ons will pay usage fees for integrating with tomstr and hosting their applications on the network.</span><br></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="color: rgb(0,0,0);background-color: transparent;font-size: 11pt;font-family: Arial;">By using the nostr framework, we can create an alternative to twitter that runs on the tomiNet. This will be an uncensored network which abides by the same rules as the tomiNet in terms of banning only the most egregious types of content. The system will also defend itself against bots and fake accounts. Any human will be able to post freely on the tomstr social media network. People can use their real names or pseudonyms, and be assured that their information is private and they cannot be traced because the nostr network will be hosted on the tomiNet protected by TOR. </span></p>
<p><span style="color: rgb(0,0,0);background-color: transparent;font-size: 11pt;font-family: Arial;">Initially, use of the nostr network will be through supported Ethereum wallets and the tomi wallet. When tomi issues the Self-sovereign identity wallet, tomstr will adopt SSI standards that are compatible with the entire network. This will allow people to maintain greater control over their identities.</span><br></p>
<p><span style="color: rgb(0,0,0);background-color: transparent;font-size: 11pt;font-family: Arial;">For the initial launching of the network, I am requesting $TOMI 15,000 to cover the development costs and hosting costs for tomstr.</span><br> </p>
