## 1. tl;dr
This AI agent will be informed by Nouns holders through aggregation and embedding of content, message streams and chosen files.
By embedding the Nouns vibe into the personality of an AI agent, we can make it do useful things for the DAO such as managing proposals, giving pre reviews, pre approvals, coordinating people and projects and acting as an always online voice for people to interact with.
All embedded content is associated with an identifier, meaning any content that is surfaced by VERB is tracked and the Author receives "points". This serves as a citation and incentive layer for contributions to the Nounish intelligence.
DeSciWorld offers to create, train, optimise and maintain VERB for Nouns alongside marketing and educating users and contributors on how to maximise VERB benefit.
## 2. Use Cases
### Proposal Prescreening
NounsDAO receives many proposals: in the last 12 months alone, we count over [200 onchain Proposals](https://nouns.wtf/vote), many of which passed, some that failed and few that were cancelled; alongside [120 Candidate proposals](https://nouns.wtf/vote#candidates) that remain unsponsored.
The process of vetting these proposals is arduous and manual. VERB, as a representative of the collective Nouns intelligence, can act as a first-layer screening for any prospective proposer to use before submitting their Candidate proposal.
Users can:
- submit their proposal in full and have it judged according to pre-defined metrics,
- receive useful feedback,
- receive scores,
- ask individual questions to refine their pitch granularly.
Given enough contribution to VERB's intelligence, the Proposal judging can even be relied on for pre-approvals and its scores used for filtering.
### Nouns Coordination
Despite being literally the most coordinated DAO in history, relaying news and requests to over 1200 Nouns across multiple social platforms can be diffcult.
VERB can:
- relay "chisme" (gossip) periodically or upon request from the Nouns channels to one central digest,
- provide real-time feedback to ideas based on its current knowledge of the other Nouns. (e.g. :sunglasses: "I'm going to be at EDCON" "Great! personXYZ is also there, why not meet up?"),
- suggest collaborations or improvements to proposals based on everyone's abilities and current work
### Intra-DAO Coordination
The underlying infrastructure that powers VERB, "Proof of Knowledge" (Pok), allows individual agents (like VERB) to communicate with each other. This means that other agents utilising Pok can produce meaningful coordination with other communities, if there is relevant potential for collabration.
### Chatbot Services
Once VERB is sufficiently Nounified, it can serve as a very powerful chatbot that anyone can talk to and ask questions about Nouns. This makes onboarding new users incredibly simple, but the possibilities are endless.
### Revenue and Repuation Source
As Nouns contribute to VERB's intelligence, and their contributions are pulled by VERB in its activites, those contributors (we call them "Authors") receive points. These points act as a novel onchain reputation and later this year we will launch our native currency $KNOW, that points can be redeemed for (w/ potential airdrop). This is a passive income stream for your contributions to VERB's brains.
## 3. Technical Breakdown
### Stigmergy
Stigmergy is a mechanism of indirect coordination where agents leave traces in the environment that influence the behavior of other agents. It's achieved through the creation of a shared knowledge graph, where agents contribute to and retrieve information, and retrieval-assisted agents infer patterns and relationships between users, facilitating coordination without explicit communication.
This will enable the agent to develop a more nuanced understanding of the community's needs and preferences, leading to more effective and efficient coordination. By leveraging stigmergy, we can create a self-organizing system that promotes collective intelligence and enhances the overall performance of the VERB project.
### Attestations
The VERB bot is developed through an embedding pipeline that generates structured memories, enabling the agent to craft informed and contextualized responses which are generated by previous interactions with the agent and recorded through onchain attestations of provenance, using EAS.
### RAG LLM
The pipeline leverages the synergy of langchain, chromadb, and a self-hosted LLM engine to maintain a coherent and adaptive state of the organization, ensuring that the agent's knowledge and understanding evolve in tandem with user interactions.
### Proof of Knowledge
As users engage with the agent, their responses are evaluated for relevance and accuracy, and suitable contributions are incorporated into the embedding set. Moreover, the individuals who provide high-quality embeddings that augment the system are tracked and rewarded at a later stage, fostering a community-driven approach to knowledge enhancement and validation.
## 4. Partnership Benefits
### DeSciWorld
Proof of Knowledge (Pok) is a protocol developed and deployed by [DeSciWorld](https://desci.world). As an organisation, we have been building community infrastructure for the DeSci space since 2021. We aggregate information, help researchers onboard into web3, host hacker houses, global events, educational workshops and generally provide an important service for the space.
### NERD
Nerd is a post-work collective focused on cooperative economies, decentralized technologies, and community-driven projects. They aim to create a new, equitable society through innovation and collaboration. The NERDs and DeSciWorld collaborate closely.
### deAI Ecosystem
The deAI space is large and growing in terms of usefulness, capital allocation and legitimacy. If Nouns create and manage a powerful agent like VERB, any top deAI projects may seek to collaborate as a method to drive adoption to their protocols, including using compute, storage, model training, agent marketplaces and more.
### Other Pok Users
As mentioned above, VERB will be able to communicate via Pok with all other agents on the network, opening Nouns communication channels up to whomever also adopts this exciting tech.
## 5. Ethical Underpinning
### Why deAI?
It is widely known that our centralised AI overlords extract value, security and ownership from everyone's data and use opaque models and bias to manipulate search results. As such, decentralised AI (deAI) is important to provide a more equitable future; it also has the added benefit of being the most powerful way to progress AI intelligences.
### "Knowledge-Backed Economy"
At DeSciWorld, we have a vision to create a "Knowledge-Backed Economy". In this future, the **human being**, squishy, silly and beautiful, has intrinsic and consistent ownership over the data (and its associated value) that AI utilises.
Many aspects of life will be eased or solved with AI intellgences, reducing the need or the ability for many people to create economic value in its current form. Do we just roll over and die? Maybe we are fed and watered by the state forever? Neither of these options appeal to us.
We built Pok as a tool to keep the humans at the core of AI as we believe that ownership and incentives for the lifeblood of AI - Data / Knowledge - will liberate and empower human society long into the AI-driven future.
## 6. Cost Breakdown
### Servers and Compute
DeSciWolrd is currently engineering a partnership with Akash Network to provide decentralised hosting of vLLM models, with the view to be a middleman for Akash to receive usage through PoK bot deployments. Currently, we foresee $2000/month for the basic model hosting, plus storage costs. As part of the proposal, we will host the VERB servers for Nouns, until such as time that they wish to take that operation themselves. As the project grows, we may choose to upgrade to the more performant models which can cost up to $10,000/month.
We want to quickly transition to our own hosted setup in 2025.
### Outreach and Education
We expect a significant amount of time and resources to be dedicated to onboarding Nouns users, educating the community on the benefits and skills required to optimise VERB, producing high quality content to showcase VERB and partnerships with other communities to give VERB buddies to talk with.
### Operations
We are a small and talented team that are earning significantly less than we should be, by virtue of loving what we build. Based on the work required for optimisation, the impact potential for Nouns, and comparatives to previous Proposals, we view this amount as reasonsable and responsible.
