**The network produced another system**
Stephen entered my network by collecting Identity (0): My glyph, relaxed.
This is the first work in Surfacing: a network of networked artworks built upon networked.art that uses identity, participation, and provenance as conditions for continued form.
Now Stephen has built Forum on top of networked.art: another system through which people can enter artworks, this time by writing.
That recursion feels important to me.
The network inspired an artwork.
The artwork brought a collector into my network.
That collector, independently, built another protocol on top of the same network.
The protocol opens a new form of participation around artworks.
As an artist, I’m grateful for Stephen’s presence in my network, and for this new contribution to the wider network.
The network is not just expanding. It is beginning to produce new ways of relating.
The network works.
