While i can certainly see the frustration regarding timeline, that appears to be the only real criticism i've fielded...and already addressed in multiple forums. Respectfully, nouns needs to let go of traditional timeline structure and learn to recognize good builders with good ideas whenever they arrive at the doorstep. Especially since a lot of us are doing this work up front, unpaid, with no promises. NOUNS has the ability to finally change that dynamic.
Additionally, to say that nouns is an afterthought discounts the work and excitement of the very nouns and nounish builders that are already a part of the core project team. We say we want new energy in nouns, more people bidding on auctions, and more people experimenting in governance. What better example of those very principles than The Park.
Just over the past year, Park members have made a big difference in the overall visibility of nouns to the global population. Not only have some of our members started building and winning auctions...we've sent dispatches to Uganda to celebrate a school that another Park member built. We did pop ups with noun all over LA (+coachella!) amidst working through the nightmare of a process that was opening a physical coffee shop. We launched a Newsstand with a newspaper and gave away flowers to strangers all over the country, just to try and connect with people instead of onboard them. We got NOUNS on a two page spread in Thrasher Magazine - the bible of skateboarding.
This is still a new world we are all operating in. Some of us take big risks in this space, but do so because we are attempting to build the world we want to see. We want that world today. Not in a few months when the social dynamic has shifted.
Ultimately, this is a budget lean prop that nouns would have already paid for through the auctions won during the process of this draft (7days). Nouns and adjacent communities stand to gain a lot of exposure to non-nouners and non-crypto people alike. OFFCHAIN is the ONLY event in NYC that is offering up our worlds to the general public, irl and online.
