After the fall of the Empire, it was those that sat at the top of the highest elites within the old world that reached out, took as many Ether Crystals as they could, and disappeared.
Driving themselves down, deep into the ancient catacombs of the Empire’s fallen cities, to look deep into the Crystals, to use their unsound methods and their dark arts, and to find another plane, another level of existence that they’d never reached before. Now, no one knows whether they have attained their goals, but some day, the KOE will come to understand what the rituals, sacrifices and venerations of the Blackcores have achieved, but whether the world will be ready is another consideration all together.
