With Uber, the same distance would cost at least twice less to cover — that's the power of fairly competitive market. You could see ridiculously high prices in developing countries, the taxis there are much more expensive (compared to overall costs ofc) than in established markets... That makes me think: basically, the grown up economics benefit fair agents (who are good at their work) prior to selfish individuals (who are shameless enough to give tourists extreme prices). However, now the Uber is that shameless entity: you bro probably know that their cut is >30%, right? 30% taken by platform from drivers... Again, this is so high because of lack of competition. We need more apps like Uber, preferably decentralized! That's one of the fields in which blockchain could make society better. Web3Uberization.
