At the time, all 3 of methods for playing back my cassettes were either broken or had a 95% chance of eating up tapes. Without hesitation Cxy shipped me his vintage duel JVC tape deck. This video is me opening that package in real time. A lot of time has passed since then but recently I’ve began this process out of necessity to recover my earliest beats & rhymes to add to the “Dutchyyy vs The Algorithms” master usb museum and since I’ve began, it’s become my full focus. The smell, the touch, the wealth of lost cultural gems re-discovered, it’s the happiest I’ve been in a such a long time.\n\nWe are talking over a thousand cassettes being carefully recorded & monitored in real time, then digital restoration on top of that. This is a labor of love.
