Great initiative by ENS.
Given the long history of collaboration between Nouns DAO and ENS DAO, and considering Nouns DAO’s push toward full decentralization and immutability, adopting this standard feels deeply aligned with the values and efforts Nouns DAO already represents.
I'm in support of this proposal.
Disclosure: I’m both an ENS service provider and a Delegate.
⌐◨-◨.eth-subdomain-registryAppreciate the shoutout, and thank you for building with ENS and Namespace.
Little bit of context + disclaimer: I’m the founder of Namespace. We’re official ENS Service Providers, supported and funded by the ENS DAO and Foundation to build our platform, SDK, and integrations across both Web3 and Web2.
I’m not sure about the current status of NNS, how it’s built, or whether the alternative is needed. What I can share is that subnames minted under ⌐◨-◨.eth are unruggable. If you mint one, you fully own it and can even build beneath it.
One possible use case (I like) is treating ⌐◨-◨.eth as a root zone and letting others build on top of it and use it as a username system for their own apps, similar to how Base is using base.eth to anchor their naming layer and added it to OnchainKit.
This is my first time commenting on the forum, and given that I also represent ENS/Namespace in an official capacity, I may not be the best person to sense-check this, but I wanted to give my 2 cents.
