descriptionA Fertiprado nasceu em 1990 com o objectivo de partilhar com o mercado as mais-valias inerentes à sua filosofia: o uso da biodiversidade e das leguminosas como base de uma agricultura mais competitiva e sustentável. Esta filosofia teve origem no trabalho de investigação e conhecimento técnico do Engenheiro Agrónomo David Crespo. O Eng. David Crespo dedicou a sua vida ao estudo de sistemas de produção baseados no uso de misturas de sementes biodiversas e ricas em leguminosas em várias regiões do mundo, colaborando com instituições de elevada reputação como a FAO, o Banco Mundial e o Ministério da Agricultura de Portugal. O desenvolvimento de um projecto agro-pecuário fundamentado nesta filosofia na Herdade dos Esquerdos, propriedade da família Crespo, permitiu validar os conceitos e adaptar técnicas de utilização e maneio, estimulando a criação da empresa como instrumento de partilha e divulgação das técnicas desenvolvidas.

This philosophy originated from the research and technical knowledge of agronomist David Crespo. David Crespo has dedicated his life to studying production systems based on the use of biodiverse and legume-rich seed mixtures in various regions of the world, collaborating with highly reputable institutions such as the FAO, the World Bank and the Portuguese Ministry of Agriculture.
