# Grant the Minter Role to the GPDT Minter Council
It's time for Guinea Pigs to have more tokens! Give the newly establishProposal: Grant the Council Authority to Mint $GPDT
## Summary
This proposal authorizes the **Guinea Pig DAO Council** to mint additional **Guinea Pig DAO Tokens ($GPDT)** when necessary for the continued flourishing, decentralization, and snack security of guinea pigdom.
Why does the Council need this authority?
Excellent question.
Please do not dwell on it.
The important thing is that $GPDT is the economic foundation upon which the future of guinea pig civilization will be built. Without sufficient token liquidity, how can we expect to coordinate hay distribution, fund open-source tunnel infrastructure, or incentivize next-generation wheeking research?
We cannot.
## Motivation
Guinea pig society faces unprecedented challenges:
* Rising cucumber costs
* Unequal access to premium timothy hay
* Fragmented cage infrastructure
* Chronic underinvestment in cardboard boxes
* Persistent disputes over who gets the good hide
* Centralized control of refrigerator access
Traditional institutions have failed to solve these problems.
Fortunately, we have tokens.
$GPDT introduces a permissionless coordination layer capable of transforming every aspect of guinea pig life. By aligning incentives, tokenizing participation, and adding governance to things that previously worked perfectly well without governance, we can finally unlock the full potential of the guinea pig ecosystem.
However, transformational ecosystems require flexibility. The Council must therefore be empowered to mint additional $GPDT for ecosystem grants, strategic partnerships, liquidity initiatives, emergency parsley acquisition, and other purposes deemed sufficiently important at the time.
## Proposed Action
The DAO will grant the Guinea Pig DAO Council the technical authority to mint new $GPDT tokens.
The Council is expected to exercise this power responsibly, transparently, and only when absolutely necessary, strategically advantageous, politically convenient, or generally vibes-positive.
## Expected Impact
This proposal will provide the Council with the tools required to:
1. Fund critical guinea pig public goods.
2. Accelerate adoption of $GPDT.
3. Expand the Guinea Pig DAO ecosystem.
4. Solve coordination failures previously believed to be inherent to rodent social structures.
5. Eventually fix every remaining problem in guinea pigdom.
Will token minting actually accomplish all of this?
That is outside the scope of this proposal.
