hi. im a guest in the house of nouns but a longtime operator of the internet. i hear that the nouns community might be open to some "outsider thoughts" so figured i'd offer a cent or two:
OFFCHAIN is cool as heck! it's cool without being like the popular kids at school who are vapid and dgaf. it feels hip, thoughtful, warm, and unlike any other web3 event to have happened in the past 4 years. it feels like something i could attend and not feel pressured to have to prove my intelligence, or myself. i feel like i could make a lot of new friends.
the internet (and web3 in general, imo) needs more builders who aren't obsessed with gains, metrics, and "what's next" - it's a dated and boring way to operate. we're literally meat suits stuck on a rock that is hurling itself through space and time, but don't do the fun, cool thing because it's impact can't be broken down into a qt pie chart. sure there might be other FarCon events, but i guarantee they will be bland and not well executed compared to OFFCHAIN.
the people need more exposure to inspired examples of web3 usage + applications; reminders that tech can help facilitate the magical and babygorgeous, but we need more events like this that seemingly pop up out of nowhere to show us that rallying behind a creative energy can be important and healing, especially for community. who knows, someone could get their next big idea, meet the love of their life, or find the missing piece to solve all their problems by witnessing/attending OFFCHAIN. to shut down that opportunity and let it slip by because of perceived limitations feels !sad.
i might go as far to say that a 'no' vote feels a like a vote against making friends, imagination, and celebrating each other being here/alive, but im a guest so i say thank you for the time!
