You + cat.protector-gov.eth had ample time to provide feedback on this proposal - the first candidate was put up on April 9. This reads as a disingenuous attempt to save face. nounscaptured.eth +1 > Bitcoin Pizza Day is a fun and iconic moment in crypto. We've been to the events and genuinely enjoyed them. But not every cultural moment needs to be something Nouns funds, especially when it comes together at the last minute. > > If this proposal had come in earlier, there could have been a real chance for other builders in the community to plan around it. That kind of timing creates opportunities for collaboration and shared momentum. We saw that with Nouns Fest, where projects like Nouns Town, Esports, and Dreamland had the space to grow alongside the main event. > > With this proposal, the timing just didn’t leave enough room for that. It feels a bit disconnected, not because the idea or team isn’t great, but because there wasn’t enough lead time to make it something bigger. This vote isn’t a knock on the event. It’s simply a call for better coordination. If we want Bitcoin Pizza Day to be a meaningful moment for Nouns, we should give it the planning it deserves.
Together, we’ve built a magnificent, amazing global event that is wholesome and beautiful. It’s a celebration of all that we share here on Spaceship Earth, centered around three things accessible almost everywhere: pizza, the internet, and Bitcoin. In the process of attempting to bring Nouns DAO along on our third Global Pizza Party together, the PizzaDAO community has felt misunderstood, hurt, and, finally, insulted: “Beyond people getting a free meal with Nouns logos at the party, it’s hard to identify any durable, strategic benefit for the DAO.” - 0xjanedoe. Jane has used the word “respect” more freely in her writing than is appropriate for someone who has shown little. Viewing PizzaDAO's work through such a simplistic lens shows little care for the builders involved or the values that brought us together in the first place. When Nouns DAO launched in 2021 (months after PizzaDAO), I felt like it was the meta version of what we were building. As a copyleft maxi from a young age (I’ve been selling copyleft t-shirts since 2013, when you could first accept Bitcoin on Shopify), I thought I’d found my people. I’ve always believed in the basic goodness of humans and their desire to improve themselves and their environment. If we shared more, we could build faster, better, stronger. The only noun I ever considered for PizzaDAO was 292, with its WE shirt (Did you know that WE stands for Whole Earth?) and its pizza head. I worked to convince wilsoncusack.eth that I and PizzaDAO would be proper stewards of such a fine NFT (he was quite attached). He finally agreed to 40 ETH. On April 20, 2023, I paid 42 (for the memes). So why are we putting this prop up, despite our very negative feelings towards our fearless captors? Because it feels wrong to let the opinions of a few get in the way of the deep fellowship between the Nouns DAO and PizzaDAO communities. Web3 is a community first revolution. Real value (and real power) resides in the community, not the treasury. If Nouns DAO is to wither away until only sycophants and extractors remain, so be it. But PizzaDAO will not be to blame. If destroying the sandcastles we’ve built in order to save the sandbox is the chosen path, we’ll simply find another sandbox. The metaverse is vast.
@0xf84a...b5A8 Our Global Pizza Party's annual, so of course it repeats. We do refine our approach each year: as described in the prop, this year we're leaning more into Nounish organizations and community members ("Nounish Captains") to steward the Nounishness of their local events and facilitate onboarding to the Nounish ecosystem. I appreciate the conversation we had in Lil Nouns about this and think we should pursue the ideas raised: collaborative artworks at the parties, airdropping attendees Nouns Builder voting tokens, and challenging party guests to brainstorm local public goods-focused proposals. Merch-wise, we're focused on distributing more of Moti's Noggles this year because we've seen the long-term effects of having them in people's hands. For many places, this will be the first pair of Noggles in that city, so I wouldn't say we're flooding communities with them. > > > I like what snax has built so far. I don't support rinse-and-repeat concepts/projects/props. In terms of merchandising, I don't support the flooding of communities with (the same) free products year over year again. >
"We still haven't used nounspace, maybe the team could continue building with a smaller proposal and get some more users? We'd be happy to invite them to demo on the PizzaDAO community call 1pm ET Sundays on our Discord." - PizzaDAO Governance Crew
nounify-in-the-ether-festival-with-public-goodsQZ + team are the foremost Ethereum community builders in Singapore. Excited to see them teach Nounish history to attendees of Ethereum Singapore, Token2049, F1, and many others, with all the foot traffic the museum will see while the exhibit is up. I hope we can also use this exhibit as a blueprint for future Nounish museum appearances.

Could this be accomplished with less funding? PizzaDAO feels this is a bit expensive, especially considering the video from the last proposal got only 4.3k views. This is also a larger ask than the last proposal.
