smallforest higley$SMLThe Smallforest Project has evolved from a zine; to paying the Northwest Territorial Mint to strike a series of medals celebrating the publication of a book about medals; to paying Dick Hanscom of Alaska Rare Coins to make a Mt. Hood gold pennyweight token; to dispersing numerous counter-marked coins, medals, and so-called dollars into the collecting community; to striking coinage for Cascadia, the State of Jefferson, the State of Greater Idaho, the Kingdom of Hawaii, and more. Collectors of these items reside in a small number of countries around the world, and the implementation of blockchain technology to create digital tokens is an opportunity for these collectors to make the logical leap from the physical to the digital. Ideally, the Smallforest Higley ERC-721 will be used, as well as collected, for generations to come. Express YourselfXPRSThe 'smallforest project' is based in PDX. It began publishing about physical tokens in 2006, and creating physicals in 2008. To date thousands of self-published physicals have been issued in various metallic compositions including gold, silver, copper, bronze, and nickel, in addition to thousands more 'smallforest' counter-marked coins, medals and so-called dollars issued by other parties. Its first non-physical token (NPT) is an ERC 1155 token issued in 2021. Another project, 'PDXpoles', is a series of NPT on the polygon network published in 2022. The 'Express Yourself' NPT on zora is an extension of the project whose ultimate goal is to tie NPT to physical tokens, perhaps mediated by a fully fungible token (FFT) issued on one of the EVM chains.
