# Skatrans – Experimental Skate Video Part
Skatrans is a project by the collective 3spiral (https://3spiral.vercel.app/), focused on exploring skateboarding, art, and digital technologies as tools for inclusion, expression, and autonomy for trans and gender-diverse individuals.
Proposal:
This proposal seeks funding to produce an experimental skate video part featuring a trans skater. The video combines traditional skate filming techniques, including fisheye and wide-angle lenses, with a narrative structure that emphasizes movement through the city alongside skate performance.
The piece will document the protagonist’s journey from home to a skate location, positioning skateboarding as a form of urban mobility, identity expression, and everyday autonomy.
Output and Distribution:
The final video will be published on “In Process” platform as a collectible audiovisual work within a Web3 framework. Any value generated will be returned to the Noun Small Grants Treasury.
Rationale:
Skateboarding spaces often present barriers to participation for trans, queer individuals, and women due to exclusionary and male-dominated environments. This project aims to expand representation and access by framing skateboarding as a collective, expressive, and non-competitive practice. It also explores Web3 as an alternative distribution model to increase visibility and sustainability for underrepresented creators.
