0x4907Bb2496626d955b9Ad0Caeef2DCFE7f123430I started collecting Justin’s work from Rodeo, and I was surprised when he gifted me a Polaroid from his collections. Life’s journey always starts somewhere. Being part of the everyday Twitter Spaces that Justin organizes has lifted me up in ways I didn’t expect. Honestly, I don’t know what I’ll do when it eventually comes to an end. I was especially glad to collect this NFT for two reasons. First, my late mum was born on that day. Second, I had just visited an old friend who lives in Joshua Tree. Being there, I experienced culture and nature in a way that stayed with me. This NFT gives me hope and a special kind of vibe , a reminder of connection, memory, and the beauty of beginnings. 0x06b615203583b30eDB9514f052e418de72d95235The day before I bid on this piece, I'd been fortunate to collect OVERLORD, my favourite XCOPY work. I'd also been collecting some a.c.k. pieces and was fascinated by a.c.k's memento mori themes amidst his study of blue. Shot in the pristine whites and blues of the antarctic, this MOTU resonated both for its aesthetic beauty, with its exploration of light and blue, as well as how it utilises the purest place on earth to explore similar themes to XCOPY and a.c.k., but in a such a different, and organic, way. Justin's comments attached to the work reflect his hope for humanity, making this a piece I was thrilled to add to the KINGSofTMRW family trust art vault for my kids to contemplate one day. I love the vital contrast it provides to the dystopia and glitch prevalent in much of the work the trust has collected. Rhythm King X

0x06b615203583b30eDB9514f052e418de72d95235Sometimes you come across a work that moves you powerfully and unexpectedly. I'd been following MOTU and loved how Justin's honest and hopeful homage to humanity, captured and composed so beautifully on Super-8 film and Polaroid, offers a vital contrast to the dystopian themes prevalent in much of the art I collect. On New Years Day 2026 I saw Justin's daily moment was shot in the city I grew up: Wellington, New Zealand, the windiest city in the world. With NZ nearly a day ahead of the US, it was the MOTU for 31 December, New Years Eve. The wild weather featured prominently, and Wellington's place at the end of the earth seemed an apt setting to mark the end of the year, juxtaposed with a couple in their wedding attire showing all the love and hope of a new union, despite what the elements threw at them. I missed that auction but the following day caught the auction for this January 1st moment, also shot in Wellington, and capturing a playful summer adventure amongst the trees, resonant of many afternoons of my youth. After a turbulent end to 2025, I loved the metaphor of starting the new year out of the wind and enjoying the good times through warm filtered sunlight, and the youthful memories it evokes.
