Beyond a few carefully curated combinations, this color either has too little contrast or it clashes with existing trait palettes. I don’t see a place for it in this collection, where it will be randomly paired forever.

Until we have better sub-delegation tools (allowing the DAO to retain custody while another party can re-delegate the votes) and simultaneously a fix for the bug that allows bricking a Noun with delegation (https://mirror.xyz/verbsteam.eth/TP917T6vm6gXuVAxbQ34ZCn7dNiHabu3UW-ninwalVc) —both coming soon!— it’s best to not transfer Nouns out and instead find alternate ways to achieve the same governance experiments.

Skimming this, there's not one noggle or mention in any of the images. I had hopes that the original proposal would produce really creative uses of either the artwork or code (something like what Tigris is up to), but Nouns seems to be an afterthought for everyone involved. Artists are already using blockchains as a medium. Let's see how they can use Nouns as a medium.
It is very difficult to set precedent in an organization whose community is always changing. Even if the community is held constant, its introspection is not. The precedent set by a subset of past voters might be upheld for some period of time, but not forever and not consistently. New information or changing circumstances means proposals are always decided on a case by case basis.
In this case, at this point in time, for this specific individual, and specific set of circumstances, the proposed reimbursement and Noun gift is appropriate.

This is a joyful, superbly executed trait and I'm excited to have it (and Tummlin) be part of Nouns.
To all the broken code doomers: App maintainers, whether in web2 or web3, must always be monitoring for software updates. It's part of the "joy" of development. Luckily, our proposal process gives advanced, public notice of changes. But this notice isn't entirely needed; the beauty of Nouns is that all traits are onchain. If offchain code is too slow or onerous to update, app devs can always tap into the open data on Ethereum to pull the pixels their app needs.
Keep the traits coming! Keep Nouns Fresh!
NounSwap Prop 457 was already defeated and Noun Id pricing isn’t a meaningful enough mechanic to revisit (see my vwr on the topic). Nouns in the treasury should not become a permissionless pool.
I’ve enjoyed reading individual Noun swap props. They would be less “fatiguing” if the boilerplate was removed, but otherwise have served as an excellent introduction to the Nouner in their own words.
Presenting oneself to a large group, onchain, is bold and insightful. Compared to $nouns permissionless pool swaps, which lack any personality, swap props are becoming a form of community building.

Really excited to onboard a new builder. I would encourage a radical simplification of these many moving parts. An art-first governing Nouns edition (1155) seems like a step in the right direction.
While I'm supportive of open-source code being audited, the design of, and stated use case for this token introduces significant regulatory risk that is not matched with a clear path to outsized benefit.
I believe that Nouns can transform cities and the idea of blending civic pride with a Nounish DAO is interesting, but the prop has both too many components and not enough depth for the ask. I’d like to see iteration and increment with positive outcomes so we can support further. 🙏
nounswap-auction-houseThere are two problems with framing the swap as an auction:
1) What an auction requires to be effective is demand for the item being sold. When it comes to a “swap” there is demand only from the swapping Nouner for the treasury Noun. It’s unlikely other Nouners will want to step in give up their Noun and ETH for the Noun being swapped. There will therefore be no competition for the swapped Noun and so no need for an auction. This defaults to the simple form of Noun + ETH for a swap but this is problematic because of point 2 below.
2) What an auction requires to be effective is a stable exchange of value between the item being sold and the funds being exchanged. In the case of a “swap” the mechanism can’t price the Nouner’s Noun and therefore the DAO can’t properly set a standard reserve price for all auctions. There are some instances where the Nouner’s Noun has an attribute which the DAO wants in the treasury and would accept less ETH as the starting price. Some circumstances would necessitate the opposite. Imagine an instance where a swap auction is started with Noun A and 5 ETH. A Nouner might have a better Noun B to swap and the DAO would take 4 ETH along with it, but the auction can only increment. Without considering the specific swap it is impossible to set an ETH value that effectively compensates the DAO for receiving the Nouner’s Noun or losing the treasury Noun.
The larger point in both arguments is that the auction attempts (again) to make Nouns fungible by not considering the unique properties of Nouns on both sides.
All participants in the Builders Round and especially the top 10 have shown remarkable merit. However, as agreed to in Prop 467, the DAO has conducted a vote and selected its top 3. Although I appreciate the reasoning provided, I don't agree that it warrants undermining that process.
Really excited for this. Only note is the uniform designs could be much more exciting. We've got a ton of cc0 artwork and amazing artists who could turn up the volume. Other than that, looking forward to seeing more!

Thanks sasqwash. I don't think you can community build by giving away a Noun in a raffle. Again, that's what airdrops attempt to do. It's fun perhaps, but for me cheapens the Noun. If this is a publicity event to raise awareness of Nouns or to gather donations for Alexey Pertsev and Roman Storm that's fine and should be stated as such. But I don't think it's correct to characterize this giveaway as "nerd-sniping a new Ethereum-aligned member into the Nouns community"
