Roxanne(1/11) This song was the intro from my second project, 'Art.Pussy.Solace'(2016), where I wanted to really focus in on painting pictures with the samples i chose & producing alongside them efficiently. This sample fills my canvas with a scene of a hot Chicago summer's day, in the 90s tho. I was a baby/toddler most of that era but I did my best to bring myself back to those scenes. I was just coming off of finishing an Audio Engineering apprenticeship in my hometown of Chicago, Il, and was encouraged by my peers when I presented the idea to them. It's titled 'No Facetime' because as I played with the Beyoncé sample I felt a tropical oceanic vibe & I usually let intuition guide me whenever I name something, so I felt this constituted a declarative statement against the most contrary concept I could think of off cuff; being on one's iPhone on Facetime.
