This setting determines the percent of members that must vote on a proposal in order for the results to be valid. The current setting (90%) will continue to fail all proposals that don’t receive at least 77 votes, regardless of the outcome of the vote. This proposal is to adjust this setting to 69%, matching the number of “in favor” votes that are required in order to pass a proposal. NOTE: This does not change the requirement that everyone participates and votes on every proposal. We will remove you from the DAO if you are consistently failing to vote. This is a non-negotiable regulatory and liability concern, but we want to prevent laziness / disinterest / external obligations of a few to ruin the ability for the group to make decisions.
Unpausing share transferability is necessary in order to re-enable WAAMI community members to join the DAO. Additional Context: The genesis crowdfund for WAAMI DAO was limited to 1000 shares under the belief that this setting applied to each account; but it instead limited the total crowdfund to 1000 shares (100 ETH). We are re-opening membership for seven days by allowing new members to send ETH directly to the DAO. After this seven-day period we will: 1) Issue new shares ($WAAMI tokens) to the DAO multi-sig 2) Distribute shares to each new member from the multi-sig (1 ETH = 10 shares) 3) Revert this change and disable transferability Total number of new shares minted will be equal to the total amount of ETH contributed during this seven-day period multiplied by 10, plus 40 shares for Brandon Ferrick. Brandon previously contributed 4 ETH and unintentionally burned the resulting 40 shares.
