He claimed the doctor was petrified and that medical professionals were expecting an Italy-like situation in SA in the next 2-3 weeks. He said this doctor had seen “young kids with strokes” caused by Coronavirus (2:01), and many other shocking things.\n\n[The voice note](http://masie.voltairine.eth.link/WhatsApp-voice-note.ogg)\n\nThe voice note went viral, but it was all a fabrication. He claims he sent it to a family WhatsApp group to scare them into taking Coronavirus more seriously. He didn’t expect the note to be shared. Is fear an excuse? Can he still be an effective business leader? Will WeWork fire him? I certainly think they should. He seems like a bit of a psychopath to me. At the very least, we have to wonder what lies he would tell in business if he needed some extra cash to buy a nicer family home.\n\nAs it so happens, he is coloured. I'll bet that if a white CEO lied to make Coronavirus look less dangerous, he'd be SA's number 1 villain right now. I doubt this story will even be mentioned in the local media. Stafford Masie will still be a local hero.
