The premise for this piece was literally a warped version of the title of the poem by poem by Richard Brautigan, "All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace". I wondered what it would look like to have a "mind all washed over by Mr. Clean". and arrived at: "All Washed Over by Mr. Cleans of Loving Grace" As part of my process, I build my compositions towards a Superflat style based heavily on primitives which I call "warpedmoji". These are variously modified emoji data and are pervasive throughout the body of my work & what is referred to by the #warpedmoji hashtag. For this piece, it seemed most logical to use the exploding head or mindblown emoji with Mr. Clean to get the full effect. Why the French flag background? I am a Francophile. He doesn't have any eyes!? Yes.
