Formes Faisibles is an experiment in constructibility. A contour map is a record of elevation cut into flat, stackable bands. So is a technical drawing, a scale model, a part built level by level from a manufacturing spec. The isoband is the same object in both - it doesn't know whether it's describing a mountain or a machined cube. Formes Faisibles doesn't paint a believable landscape. It builds an actual one, the only way anything real gets built: one elevation slice at a time. It asks the question: not whether it could be imagined, but whether it could be made. The terrain was never just a picture. It was always a set of instructions.
