Hey yalor.eth, first of all, sorry for sharing this proposal in such an early stage. Please don't judge the budget right now, we are just capping the proposal on the current displayed amount as its detailing is in progress.
There is an index in skatepark constructions that can help to calculate the average cost of construction it is 300-400USD/m2 , the project budget is being estimated for 400m2 of constructed area, which lead us to 160k tops, the concrete for a skatepark is made a 3/3 rate with sand and not 1/3 like in common constructions. The construction material in Uganda might be a little cheaper and after research this cost might go down. We are also budgeting 1 park + refurbishing the legendary skatepark that was the stage of so many documentaries of Skateboarding but never got the necessary update. For this stage of the project we are using the maximum cost it can be. (400USD/m2, that will probably not be the reality but the wise choice for budgeting on that stage)
Even after the main research if it end up cheaper we can return any leftover to the treasure.
we are still confirming the possibility of doing both.
In paralellwith this proposal we are also trying to gather funds from other sources that might be interested to help specially if the nouns community already signal positive support, like gnars dao, skatepark project, giveth donations and skateboard brands and sports federations, that would also reduce the $ money take on Nouns.
One of the reasons this proposal was shared in that early stage is because it was felt the need to present it as an alternative to another proposal of the same ninch. Dedicated gnars members made an effort to transform skateboard participation of nouns into something real that would make nouns change the history of skateboarding forever. And evolve a organic global infinitywork of art that is being going on in the community. We want to do that together. Every skateboarder knows about skateboarding in Uganda and would want to do this proposal if they could. Its not coincidence we have 2 skatepark builders which the professional and moral dream is to do that for those people.
The other reason is having a place like nouns.camp and nouns.wtf to display the proposal idea is more effective that using the forum and when I share the link of the current status for people that are getting involved in the proposal but dont know Nouns, it exposes other proposals to those people and help me to onboard then also make then closer to the community feedback, give us opportunity to build together.
so please, if you could try to feel and understand the context of the whole idea starting on what we are going on gnars and now going big and accelerating here on nouns. Also I would like to invite you to ask any skateboarder if they know the history of the skateboarders in Uganda. Just to understand how huge that can be on his tone ;)
Regards the relationship with skateboarders, olympic athletes and builders I want to invite you to check what we have been doing in Gnars Dao and the things we built together. So yeah it works both ways, web3 provides tooling that skateboarding culture needs, and skateboarding provides content, validations and its community power to web3. About the impact, I can assure your and again you can validade with any skateboarder, the greater impact will not just come from the documentary we are going to create with the proposal and the PRs we are going to push. The greater impact will come from all the docs, tv shows, maganize articles that will organically pop up combined with the PR of all the huge supporters this proposal has. We are projecting this to last more than 20 years at least, and this is a long time to histories to be developed on top of that. Thrasher , transworld , jenkem, local magazines, skate video parts. The gazilion dollar industry will know nouns for the best reason ever.

If you are tuned on nouns you probably saw this nouns rail around, I did not made this one, I made the first one with Pharra , this is the fifth iteration of that idea made in sao francisco (in this random internet video with 3M views) the fact it was such a sucess on the community and each one of those in the map so viral, prooves a lot of community alignment in terms of memefication, proliferation, engagement.
