*whoops submitted this too soon 😅 it's been a pleasure building for gnars for the past 4 years. it's what brought me into the nouns ecosystem originally. over the past year, I've had the pleasure of contributing to nounspace, and I couldn't be more excited to continue improving the platform for the entire nouns ecosytem and beyond. thank you nouners for your support and belief in our team. we won't let you down. +1 > its being a pleasure building for gnars
Glad that nouns activation will be handled by such capable hands in a such important event. I also would like to propose for next event related proposals we focus more in supporting nouners to attend to those conferences as part of the budget. At the end of the day the p2p conversation with nouners converts Nouns sales more than everything. So a line in the budget and a dispute to be one of the 10 nouners to be sponsored to attend would be cool, being that another perk of having a noun. good luck on the prop see you all there
I’m deeply bullish on our team—not just because our devs are sharp, but also from working closely with Willy at ShapeShift. That experience taught me the power of gritty execution and rapid iteration. He is truly one of the best builders I know. Since FarCon NYC, where Nounspace won the hackathon, our product has only gotten stronger. Most recently, we placed 2nd in the showcase track of the Base Batches global buildathon, earning a trip for the whole team to Network School—where builders and investors alike validated what we're building. We haven’t just shipped; we’ve learned, iterated, and proven our value across several stages of development. The vision of unifying the Nouns ecosystem while enabling others to launch bespoke spaces is strategic and powerful. Sure, UX and deliverables can be sharpened as we go—but that’s what good builders do: we build in public. I believe in this team, our momentum, and the Nounish mission. Let’s double down. ⌐◨-◨
fuck yeah +1 > This partnership with mETH Protocol could diversify our treasury strategies and bring in some fresh ideas. Plus, the 5 million MNT token delegation shows they're serious about working with us. It's a win-win if we can boost our yields and explore new opportunities together.
please do this +1 > aligning incentives between Nouns/ENS/Protocol Labs accelerates resilient public goods infra while reducing long-term maintenance costs—decentralizing frontends via IPFS+ENS fits our ethos like a glove at reasonable net spend
This proposal is premature. While onboarding small cities sounds promising in theory, the plan presented here is extremely underdeveloped. There is no validation of real demand — no cities are confirmed, no letters of intent, no surveys, or pilot programs showing that small cities even want crypto payment solutions or nounish partnerships. The execution plan is equally vague: there are no clear milestones, success metrics, risk analysis, or deliverables. The budget primarily funds speculative exploration and salaries without offering a concrete product or measurable outputs for the DAO. Additionally, the proposal conflates onboarding a single surf institute with meaningfully bringing a city on-chain — a major stretch with no real structural impact demonstrated. The proposed revenue model is also highly speculative, based on the idea that accepting crypto will somehow generate income for the DAO, without providing any financial modeling or evidence that this assumption holds true. I am also skeptical of RickDay’s recurring pattern of positioning himself as an intermediary through emotional storytelling. This repeated framing, without strong operational execution behind it, does not inspire confidence in the responsible use of treasury funds. At $100K, this proposal represents a major mismatch between the ask and the current readiness level. Ideas at this stage of development should be tested with smaller grants, not full DAO funding.
+1 > transparency through audits aligns with core web3 values while boosting accountability - though gotta watch those DUNA compliance concerns like loose screws on a spaceship hatch. let’s test-run this framework but keep governance tight as starbase protocols 🛸
I understand the concerns raised by the "No" votes. Curation is absolutely essential, and I agree that Flows should aim for high-quality participation—prioritizing depth of understanding of the Nouns ecosystem over ease of access. Supporting open-source and privacy-respecting AI is also a crucial principle we shouldn’t overlook. That said, I believe Flows is carving out a meaningful new layer in the Nounish ecosystem: one where governance, curation, and compensation for DAO contributors are more fluid, aligned, and sustainable. Streaming payments combined with curated access offer better budgetary control and accountability. Rocketman—I'm voting "Yes" because I trust your vision and your ability to deliver. That trust doesn’t mean ignoring the critiques; in fact, I think it’s vital that the feedback from "No" voters is taken seriously. They’ve surfaced important challenges that should be addressed moving forward. Before I wrap up, I want to suggest an idea: open up Flows to allow brands and subDAOs to create their own flows. Imagine John from Ledger visits the Flows site and proposes a collaboration: Ledger → Flows → Nouns. A proposal is generated that routes a portion of funds to Nouns (as a service fee) and the rest to the specific Flow contract. In return, the brand gains access to the Nouns community’s unique creative energy, DAO contributors promote both ecosystems, and Nouns receives value for enabling the connection. It’s a win for all sides—proliferation with purpose. Flows has something undeniably special. Let’s make sure it reaches its full potential—with quality, care, and collaboration. +1 > This is not a productive use of this governance space. I appreciate the efforts you’ve made to reduce the budget and prioritize accountability tooling. It’s clear you’re listening to the community and adapting. That said, I still cannot support this proposal in its current form. Let me explain why: > > ### 1. **The Budget Remains Too Large** > > You’ve mentioned Break Even Movement should “smooth out” capital flows when voting. But this proposal still asks for $435K upfront. Why not take a “smooth” approach—split the budget into milestones incrementally, and let the DAO assess results before committing more capital? > > ### 2. **Token Model Still Unknown ** > > In the previous round, multiple members of the community asked for a clear tokenomics simulation. How will this token work? Who receives how much? What are the expected flows of capital, voting power, and upside? None of that has been modeled or shared. Without a working token design, I can’t justify approving a multi-hundred-thousand-dollar allocation. > > ### 3. **Large voting block cannot Influence Flows.wtf cash flows** > > It's hard for large Noun holders (30+ votes) to influence how Flows funds are allocated. Until there’s an easy mechanism for large voting block like 5gram and me can manage your internal treasury distribution, I will continue to vote NO. And the baseline “salary” allocations(75%) are too high, I need to see this parameter go down to below 25%. > > ### 4. **No to Closed AI** > > Please don't use Claude/OpenAI. Using DAO funds to enrich closed, centralized AI models is a hard NO from me. > > ### 5. **DAO Is Not a Payroll System** > > The DAO is not here to provide recurring salaries indefinitely. If a project cannot survive without continued subsidy from the DAO, it may not be the right fit. I deeply believe in the public goods spirit—but that doesn’t mean guaranteed income. For context: **OpenBSD’s 2025 funding goal is $400K**, and that project secures the global internet. This proposal exceeds that amount. > > ### 6. **No Funding Structures That Create Vote Buying Dynamics** > > Flows distributes DAO funds. If these funds are then used to influence voters who are themselves beneficiaries, that crosses the line into implicit vote buying. This undermines the integrity of governance. I oppose any system that blurs these lines. > > ------ > > I appreciate all the value Flows has created so far. I know this isn’t an easy system to build. But if we want it to become a sustainable layer of Nouns governance, it must meet a higher bar for financial clarity, openness, and alignment with DAO-wide control structures. > > I’m always open to future collaboration and hope to support a tighter, more accountable version of this vision down the line.
i kind of cool having this art available, I open in the ipad, and it maximized the art appreciation, but I agree with JP, you are onto something that is not quite there yet. look forward the next iteration +1 > I strongly believe in starting small and progressing step by step until you reach an onchain proposal — and you did exactly that by competing for the Nouns prize and getting funded on Prop House. > > That said, I also believe going onchain requires a higher level of preparation, and I don’t think NFT Folder is quite there yet. Maybe I’m not fully understanding the product, but it feels like there’s a lot more potential that could be explored and built into this proposal. At the end of the day, I just couldn’t get excited enough about its current version.
I like the automated solution with a mechanism of post approval (offchain but token gated). Thanks for the volunteer heros though, i would have vote yes, if the automated way was not an option.
Please consult skateboarders before placing the skate features. building != building for skate. Apart from that I like to invest in long lasting legacy things like this cause it give us time to figure out return. Also like the idea of saving location money on nouns events.
The proposal is even better now. Cant wait to see what you guys can do with this boost. There are not many noggles shapes you can interact in that many ways, every new trick is a potencial viral. Congrats Fam
The proposal could benefit from additional details on certain actions. For instance, placing Noggles in a local skatepark may have unintended consequences. Additionally, the budget appears somewhat imbalanced in terms of costs versus compensation. That said, I recognize that ETH Denver attracts a relevant audience, and the proposer demonstrates good intentions and a thoughtful approach to engagement. Given these considerations, I will abstain from voting.

The Noggles initiative has significantly boosted Gnars governance participation, educated new builders, and increased auction engagement. Every product crafted by the NNS team is both visually appealing and user-friendly.

+1 > yo. rocket! I came in to read the prop and leave a comment and it's great o see how people have also joined the flow vibes.. A project that supports different people, from different places in a nounish vibe is already cool, it's also a great method of onboarding and first grants for builders. i also think it's very cool in its designs and expertise to create platforms, good progress with vrbs thatsgnarly... I think flows.wtf is a project that has value. and deserves to keep onchain. aloha
Flows has the potential to bridge the gap in recognizing and rewarding the everyday contributors within the DAO—those who perform the essential, often unseen work that keeps the community thriving. It's a way to ensure that the individuals who wear the Nouns shirt every day and embody its values are acknowledged and supported for their efforts.
I believe this project has the potential to bring vibrant energy and creativity to skateboarding, surfing, and art, as well as to the Nouns community, with its innovative and fun approach. I voted yes and chose to sponsor it because Will and Zima are respected professional shredders with a solid track record. I’m confident in their ability to execute and communicate effectively as this proposal develops.
Supporting this proposal is crucial to keep the momentum and potential of nounspace moving forward. Our team has shown resilience and adaptability by refining our approach based on feedback and lowering the budget request, while maintaining our vision for creating a powerful tool not just for nounish communities, but for any web3 group looking to elevate their social presence. Voting 'no' without clear reasons only creates confusion and stifles progress. A ‘yes’ vote here is not just a vote of confidence; it’s a vote for the future of decentralized social. I belive on Farcaster potential, I believe on nounspace application and I believe in Nouns as the central hub for the social of the new internet.
YO HO, I am down to see this experiment coming to life. I trust the innovative vein of the proposer and I believe on that mission and that web3 can help of that problematic. I have one question though. One of the main drivers of piracy consumption is the fact you can get experiences for FREE, I also understand that reputation is very important in torrent relm, but yet I want to understand what would driving and sustaining secondary mints?
GM everyone! For those that don't me, my name is Vlad and after over 2 years of participating in nouns, primarily through Gnars, I finally made my nounishness official when I won the auction for noun 1232, my perfect skateboard head forever noun. Although I worked at ShapeShift for the past 2 years, which is where I met willywonka, I come from a web3 social media background, working on platforms like LBRY, Odysee, Hive, and Lens. About a month ago I left ShapeShift and joined nounspace full time, and it's been the best month of my life. I couldn't be more stoked about the team, the vision, and the opportunity. No decentralized network can thrive with just one dominant front end, and that’s why nounspace is so important. We’re not just building another client—we’re building the connective tissue that brings together the diverse and vibrant tools in the Nouns ecosystem. This is a chance to consolidate and amplify the power of Nouns across the entire metaverse. The dedication and genius of the team I’ve had the privilege to work with, including Julian, Jesse, Ryan, Cam and Willy, who I've witnessed achieve the impossible at ShapeShift, Giveth, and now nounspace, fills me with immense pride and confidence. Together, we’re pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with web3 and farcaster, and I’m excited about the impact this project will have on the future of social in Web3. I understand that some have concerns about our long-term vision and sustainability, but I believe in the transformative potential of nounspace, its assets and the revenue generation opportunity, but we need to dev it first and we already got so far with so little. With continued support, we can refine and expand this platform, making it a cornerstone of the Nouns community and beyond. I can't imagine a better opportunity for nouns to invest $250k in. If nounspace succeeds in its vision, the chances of nouns sustaining and succeeding in its vision increase exponentially. Thank you for taking the time to consider our proposal. If anyone wants to reach out, feeback, ask for features or support we will be building publicly in Nounspace server, as usual. Upward and onward 🚀👾
Given the concerns regarding accountability in the proposer's previous proposal (142) [link](https://nouns.wtf/vote/142), I approach this current request with some reservations. The substantial amount being requested feels difficult to justify, especially when entrusted to a multisig setup that may lack the necessary transparency. The proposal outlines a budget for graffiti, enhancements, PR, and other general expenses, but the details are sparse, leaving the impression that these numbers might have been chosen arbitrarily. Additionally, the fee for supporting Skate Cuida appears somewhat disconnected from the proposal's main objectives and could blur the overall focus. Past experiences suggest that this fee might also serve as part of the proposer's personal compensation. There is also confusion about the confirmed participants and those who will simply be speaking at the event. This uncertainty adds to the concerns about the overall clarity and execution of the proposal. Moreover, past activations with other brands at Dreamland have had only limited exposure, making this proposal feel even more ephemeral and transient in nature. Considering the proposer's history, it might be more prudent to start with a smaller, more focused proposal. It would also be valuable if the proposer could demonstrate some of the conversion potential they have, as this has not been evident in the previous Gnars-approved proposals. Ultimately, if others do not share these concerns, the decision will rest on whether the community feels comfortable with the amount being requested. However, should this proposal move forward, I would kindly suggest that supporters advocate for a more transparent and verifiable multisig structure—especially in light of the issues that arose with Proposal 142. This is the least we can ask to ensure the integrity and success of this event if it pass, I hope it does not. Cheers, skateboard.⌐◨-◨
-counter-proposal-nouns-uganda-public-skateparks-initiative-instead-of-dreamland---- I just finished the message and it got insanely big, so I came all the way to the top to thank you in advance for proving feedback, reading the proposal, checking the links, paying the gas to comment and potencialy read my reply. I deeply thank you for that. ---- Hey yalor.eth, first of all, sorry for sharing this proposal in such an early stage. Please don't judge the budget right now, we are just capping the proposal on the current displayed amount as its detailing is in progress. There is an index in skatepark constructions that can help to calculate the average cost of construction it is 300-400USD/m2 , the project budget is being estimated for 400m2 of constructed area, which lead us to 160k tops, the concrete for a skatepark is made a 3/3 rate with sand and not 1/3 like in common constructions. The construction material in Uganda might be a little cheaper and after research this cost might go down. We are also budgeting 1 park + refurbishing the legendary skatepark that was the stage of so many documentaries of Skateboarding but never got the necessary update. For this stage of the project we are using the maximum cost it can be. (400USD/m2, that will probably not be the reality but the wise choice for budgeting on that stage) Even after the main research if it end up cheaper we can return any leftover to the treasure. we are still confirming the possibility of doing both. In paralellwith this proposal we are also trying to gather funds from other sources that might be interested to help specially if the nouns community already signal positive support, like gnars dao, skatepark project, giveth donations and skateboard brands and sports federations, that would also reduce the $ money take on Nouns. One of the reasons this proposal was shared in that early stage is because it was felt the need to present it as an alternative to another proposal of the same ninch. Dedicated gnars members made an effort to transform skateboard participation of nouns into something real that would make nouns change the history of skateboarding forever. And evolve a organic global infinitywork of art that is being going on in the community. We want to do that together. Every skateboarder knows about skateboarding in Uganda and would want to do this proposal if they could. Its not coincidence we have 2 skatepark builders which the professional and moral dream is to do that for those people. The other reason is having a place like nouns.camp and nouns.wtf to display the proposal idea is more effective that using the forum and when I share the link of the current status for people that are getting involved in the proposal but dont know Nouns, it exposes other proposals to those people and help me to onboard then also make then closer to the community feedback, give us opportunity to build together. so please, if you could try to feel and understand the context of the whole idea starting on what we are going on gnars and now going big and accelerating here on nouns. Also I would like to invite you to ask any skateboarder if they know the history of the skateboarders in Uganda. Just to understand how huge that can be on his tone ;) Regards the relationship with skateboarders, olympic athletes and builders I want to invite you to check what we have been doing in Gnars Dao and the things we built together. You should experience how rewarding it is to build for this kind of community crowd, and this meshup is so inspiring and innovative we came up with platforms like thatsgnar.ly , https://skatehive.app, https://gnars.wtf , surfhive, surfguru. In skatehive for example you have a multichain experience with a collection of tools that were inspired by csv airdrop, zora , hive blockchain, roundswtf , and we have been onboarding thousands of skaters ,with those tools, that might not be in contact with web3 in this generation if it wasnt for those. So yeah it works both ways, web3 provides tooling that skateboarding culture needs, and skateboarding provides content, validations and its community power to web3. I also invite you to join skatehive discord (discord.gg/skateboard) and (discord.gg/gnars) were the skateboarders and builders are changing the paradigms of the sports market and fighting the monopoly of web2 social media over our content culture ;) About the impact, I can assure your and again you can validade with any skateboarder, the greater impact will not just come from the documentary we are going to create with the proposal and the PRs we are going to push. The greater impact will come from all the docs, tv shows, maganize articles that will organically pop up combined with the PR of all the huge supporters this proposal has. We are projecting this to last more than 20 years at least, and this is a long time to histories to be developed on top of that. Thrasher , transworld , jenkem, local magazines, skate video parts. The gazilion dollar industry will know nouns for the best reason ever. https://warpcast.com/skateboard/0x99710271 If you are tuned on nouns you probably saw this nouns rail around, I did not made this one, I made the first one with Pharra , this is the fifth iteration of that idea made in sao francisco (in this random internet video with 3M views) the fact it was such a sucess on the community and each one of those in the map so viral, prooves a lot of community alignment in terms of memefication, proliferation, engagement. A last reminder that this candidate is still evolving so I really appreciate you visiting us here again when it gets its first sponsor. It will only be onchain when we are sure its clear enough so all people can see what we skaters can see too.

Through community engagement activities like training sessions and outreach programs, the initiative has successfully fostered a sense of camaraderie and belonging among the youth, helping to deter them from risky behaviors associated with drugs and gangs. A local advocate's perspective highlights that the real, meaningful way to support the community is by **building a skatepark**. This skatepark is seen not just as a facility for recreation but as a crucial tool for education, skill development, and humanitarian growth. The advocate was moved by the urgent needs of the community, recognizing that **providing skateboards and shoes was insufficient**. It provides a safe space for self-expression and community building, positively impacting local economies and social cohesion. The Uganda Skateboard Society (USS) was founded in 2006 by Jackson Mubiru, who discovered skateboarding through a friend's gift from Europe. Recognizing its potential to empower youth, he established the USS and built Uganda's first skatepark in Kitintale in 2008 with donated materials and local volunteer efforts. Over the years, the skatepark has attracted international support and become a vital community hub. Constructing a new skatepark will further the USS's mission, offering more opportunities for youth and nurturing the local skateboarding culture. --- Based on community feedback, the current proposal to fund a private skatepark and documentary lacks clear deliverables and public impact, appears to be a misuse of the DAO's funds, and has several budgetary concerns: 1. **Public vs. Private Benefit:** Investing in a public skatepark benefits a broader community, whereas funding a private skatepark and documentary benefits a select few, mainly the celebrity involved. 2. **Cost Justification:** The current proposal's high costs, including maintenance of a private park and high salaries, are seen as unnecessary and poorly justified. Public projects provide better value for money. 3. **Transparency and Accountability:** The detailed cost breakdown and transparent goals of this public project ensure accountability and long-term impact, addressing concerns about misuse of funds and lack of oversight.
