nouns-house---keep-irl-weirdHey, @nounsdeli! Thanks so much for taking the time to read our Prop. Your feedback means a lot to us, especially since you guys are pioneers in the nounish IRL venue space.
There are a couple of points we wanted to clarify:
“This proposal shifts all that risk onto the DAO, which doesn't sit right with me.” - So Nouns would only be funding 30% ($323,400) of the total costs for staff, stock, and fixed expenses over 18 months, while the current owners would cover the remaining 70% ($792,000). The funding from Nouns would primarily cover additional costs due to the rebranding and remodeling, such as being open every day of the week, the co-working area, hosting more events, and increased staff and stock.
Again with regards to the risk, we tried to minimize it to the DAO as much as possible, most importantly by committing a $600K, prime real estate property in the heart of São Paulo to become Nouns House permanently.
Lastly, 40% of the funding will be streamed over 18 months, to further mitigate the risk to the DAO.
“...the bigger concern is around staff, fixed costs, and stock once the business becomes operational.” - Just to clarify, the current venue has been operational for over two years now, with 2,000+ regular visitors monthly.
