Memo 0x099ffcee…dbc811 on Ethereum

@0x094B...C8B8 You are making quite a few assumptions. But you don't know me. We have never spoken, even though I have tried. A million dollars, 2 million dollars. I won't pretend to know whether that's a drop in the bucket for you. But I must ask - how much time have you spent building in Nouns? I've committed 3 years of my life to it. Don't assume my financial situation or whether I'm able to cover multi-thousand dollar AI costs per month. Because I'm not. We did not give up on our vision. We have no runway. You left us a single paragraph of feedback and voted to stop paying us. We then re-prioritized based on the limited signal *you* gave us. You said "I don’t believe Nouns is ready to play the role of a philanthropic foundation. At this stage, I believe we need to think like a startup—prioritizing sustainability, discipline, and alignment over scale." You didn't want to fund philanthropy and instead wanted Nouns to think like a startup. With our funding source gone, we shifted short term focus to figure out how to incubate revenue generating projects, using the same protocol, in the hopes of making all Flows sustainable. All working towards our vision. We've been working full-time on Flows since August. Our salaries were completely cut off in April. It's quite difficult to continue working and put food on the table with no salary. Still, we persisted. Working for free, with hardly any personal runway. We secured a deal with Vrbs, are working with Base, and have 2 more communities wanting to run their own flows under our vision. Is that enough conviction for you? I haven't talked to you over a call, so it is difficult to share all the context and care that goes into a proposal like this. I appreciate that you care for Nouns. So do I. If you are trying to turn Nouns into a governance role-model for the space, why are you voting down one of the only innovative capital allocation platforms we have at the last minute? There's a world where we can set aside these disagreements, because we're really on the same team at the end of the day. I want Nouns to succeed just as much as you. Happy to chat whenever you want. Let's figure it out together ⌐◨-◨ > > > You previously said that it would be easy to raise funds using Flow in its current form — so why haven’t you done it? > > After your prop was defeated, you immediately chose to pivot. When a founder abandons a previously held conviction right after receiving feedback from an investor, and changes the entire product direction as a result, that’s one of the biggest red flags in my view. In practice, if a founder shifts their vision just because of a single comment from me, that’s a deal I would never invest in. It shows they’re not building something they truly believe in—they’re simply trying to follow the money. There’s a fundamental difference between a founder with deep conviction and one who’s just chasing capital. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen that conviction in you. > > I’m willing to spend over a million dollars in Nouns to pursue what I believe ins, and I wouldn’t hesitate to spend another million. Are you? You weren’t even willing to cover Flow’s AI cost of 13 ETH yourself. >
