Emerald is a deeply charged cultural and geographical symbol, especially in Latin America. Colombia has historically been one of the regions most closely associated with emeralds — not only as a source of beauty or wealth, but as a territory where emeralds embody deep contradictions: natural abundance and extraction, desire and conflict, value and violence.
