I will continue creating nounish artwork, proposing new heads, developing characters and lore, collaborating with nouners, and expanding Nouns Colombia as a broader regional cultural platform. I was already deeply connected and committed, but traveling to Argentina in November, being present at the Nouns booth at DevConnect, and meeting so many members in person strengthened that bond and reinforced my love for the community. Being recognized as the Nouns artist resident and connecting with people face-to-face has made me even more motivated to continue contributing. I am deeply grateful for the trust and space the DAO and community have given me so far — it has allowed me to grow as an artist and as a participant in this ecosystem.
Over the next six months, I will continue my artistic exploration within Nouns, developing characters, lore, and visual work that strengthens the language of the ecosystem. Inspiration will come from conversations, calls, community interactions, and moments within the DAO, allowing me to create pieces that are meaningful and relevant for the community. Nouners can reach out to me when they need artwork to support their projects, and I will also produce work that complements executed proposals — reflecting the sentiment of the DAO, enhancing visibility, and adding artistic depth where it is meaningful. Whether for official Nouns social channels or to enrich ongoing initiatives, my aim is for the art to live alongside the community and the culture.
When moments call for a portrait, a meme, a poster, a visual narrative, or something unexpected, I want to respond in a way that is playful, resonant, and connected to the ecosystem.

For me, Nouns has been the biggest commitment of my so-called artistic career. I take this opportunity very seriously. What I’m proposing isn’t vague because I don’t care — it’s open because I care deeply about the creative process and don’t want to artificially constrain it to rigid deliverables.
I may not have a perfectly defined outcome for where this creative endeavor will lead, and that’s intentional. I didn’t want to box it into a checklist. What I do know is that I want to continue creating work I feel genuinely proud to share with the DAO.
That said, I’d truly appreciate your opinion and any specific feedback on how you think this could be stronger or clearer. I’m always open to improving.

a) I intentionally requested ETH because I plan to hold as much as possible. My previous prop was 1 ETH/month, but that included producing events and collaborating/commissioning other artists. This time it’s focused primarily on art creation, while staying active in the local artistic scene. Despite volatility, 1 ETH = 1 ETH — I want long-term alignment.
b) All the work is CC0.
c) The visual wrap-up is exactly what I’m building now — a mini-site with timeline + galleries organizing the residency work. I’ve updated the prop. Thank you for pushing for this.

The OnchainCreators and other event pieces will absolutely be included. The goal is to have everything in one accessible, cohesive place for the DAO.

I’m currently building a small website that will function as a living “Nouns Residency Portfolio” — a timeline-style review of my work during the residency, alongside curated galleries of past and current nounish pieces. The idea is not only to document what has already been done, but to create a space that can continue growing: featuring CC0 works, commissioned pieces, collaborations, Nouns Colombia activations, other artists, and future events.
I’m still figuring out the technical side — this is actually my first time seriously building something like this — but I’m committed to making it happen because I believe the DAO deserves a clear, accessible visual archive of the work produced through this engagement.

As a kid growing up in the heat of Cali Colombia, a Banana Split was the most expensive, eye-catching treat at the neighborhood ice-cream shop: a banana split in two as the base, three scoops of ice cream (strawberry and chocolate among them), chocolate syrup dripping generously over everything, and that bright red cherry on top. My mom couldn’t afford it every day, but when she did, every dripping bite felt like pure luxury.
I want people who grew up treasuring those rare Banana Split moments—who still smile remembering the taste—to have a head in the Nouns collection that brings back that childhood joy.

Everyone wears caps. Everyone knows the sting when one goes missing.
As a Colombian communications graduate from Cali, I've always been drawn to the semiotic power of everyday objects: how a simple cap—just an accessory—can carry unexpected layers of meaning depending on the context.
When I was younger I watched "La Gorra" (2008) a low-budget Colombian drama directed by Andrés Lozano Pineda, co-produced with community leader Lupe Ocampo, and shot in the barrios of Dosquebradas (Risaralda) as part of an audiovisual workshop with at-risk youth. Featuring non-professional actors from the local community, it's based on real events and captures the raw reality of neighborhood conflicts without any professional polish.
The plot follows Michael, a young man who has his yellow cap stolen on his way home from school. He tells his older brother Johan, who sets out to retrieve it, but the incident quickly escalates into a deadly feud between two rival gangs, leading to deaths, revenge cycles, and a notorious real-life resolution involving the women of the gangs declaring a "legs crossed" strike—no intimacy until peace is made.
A cap is just a cap—protection from sun and rain, a bit of personal style—yet in certain realities it can spark conflict, signal identity, or trigger deeper, tragic stories.

As a kid growing up in the heat of Cali Colombia, a Banana Split was the most expensive, eye-catching treat at the neighborhood ice-cream shop: a banana split in two as the base, three scoops of ice cream (strawberry and chocolate among them), chocolate syrup dripping generously over everything, and that bright red cherry on top. My mom couldn’t afford it every day, but when she did, every dripping bite felt like pure luxury.
I want people who grew up treasuring those rare Banana Split moments—who still smile remembering the taste—to have a head in the Nouns collection that brings back that childhood joy.

I understand this probably wasn’t the best place to bring it up, and I recognize that I could’ve looked for another way to address it. That said, Eleonora hasn’t replied to my DMs for quite a while now, and when I saw Andrea’s name and Veracura mentioned, my first impulse was to ask.

In my experience, the long-standing race to legitimize art through academic criticism, historical references, and intellectual framing often tries to assign meaning to something that is fundamentally meant to be experienced. No art critic possesses inherently superior tools—beyond language, theory, and references—that make their experience of art more valid or valuable than that of any other person.
Because of this, I find the role of traditional art criticism—especially when applied to web3 art—largely redundant. In many cases, it attempts to wrap artistic practices in a mantle of intellectual legitimacy that ultimately distances people from engaging with art directly. Instead of inviting participation, it can introduce insecurity: the feeling that one needs the “right” knowledge, context, or approval to have a valid experience.
Web3-native art spaces have thrived precisely because they lower these barriers. They allow people to encounter, feel, remix, and relate to art without mediation. Introducing a centralized, top-down interpretive layer—especially one anchored in established art-world institutions—risks reimporting the same gatekeeping dynamics that many of us came here to move away from.
While documentation and dialogue are important, I don’t believe that meaning needs to be externally validated by professional critics in order to exist, compound, or become historical. Culture can—and often should—be articulated from within the community, through practice, conversation, and lived participation, rather than through commissioned authority.
For these reasons, I don’t support allocating DAO resources to this initiative.

> While I think Rounds on nouns.gg are a great tool and useful for certain contexts, I don’t think it is appropriate for this process. It is an offchain platform which lacks a permanent and verifiable record, has had issues with voting weight accuracy, and requires trust in a third-party platform with full administrative control. Votes are anonymous and not directly verifiable against onchain delegates. The nouns.gg admins have repeatedly had to step in and fix voting issues, and have stated that they can manually add votes at their discretion when requested by groups such as Lils. Since we have the ability to run a fully onchain, permissionless, and transparent election within our existing governance framework, it makes sense to do that rather than introducing additional trust and risk to the process.

I trust Pip’s good intentions, and I believe in his vision for community and collaborative work. I truly recognize his effort—his initiatives have had a meaningful and positive impact on the side of Nouns that continues to be weird, creative, and deeply artistic.

## Feria Nounish 2025 – Cali, Colombia 🇨🇴
### 1. Open Call & Community Building
The open call launched on **August 16** through [ferianounish.xyz](https://ferianounish.xyz) and the official social media channels ([Instagram](https://instagram.com/ferianounish), [Farcaster](https://farcaster.xyz/ferianounish), [X](https://x.com/Ferianounish)). Participants could apply as entrepreneurs, workshop hosts, or speakers, and were invited to propose Nounish-themed sticker designs, products, or activities inspired by Nouns and Noggles.
The call closed on **September 15** with **90 applications**. From this pool, **40 creative entrepreneurs** were selected: 23 with sticker proposals, 13 with product-based projects including art toys, candles, tattoos, prints, and merch, four with workshops, and one with a talk by [Platohedro](https://farcaster.xyz/platohedro). Food and beverage vendors included Choripanes, Fritanga Valluna, Café Gourmet, Cervezas Torremolinos, and Granizados BLVCK.
Participation in the fair was free. Selected applicants automatically received a booth for both days of the event. The curation balanced returning participants from earlier activations with new local artists discovered through the open call.

### 2. IRL Activations
The first activation was **Drink & Draw Nounish**, held at Cervezas Calima. Around twenty people joined this open drawing session focused on Nounish characters. Some of these participants later joined the fair as exhibitors.
The second activation was the **Artist Meetup**, which took place on **October 19** at Albahaca Terraza. It served as a coordination and onboarding session for the selected artists. During this meeting, the team shared logistical details, Base onboarding codes, and presented the progress of the **miniapp project** — a marketplace built collaboratively by [Gabriel Lago](https://farcaster.xyz/gabriellagomusic), Nadiecito, and Sweetman in vibecoding sessions.
The miniapp is a **whitelisted marketplace** for participating artists, where their exclusive pieces from the fair can be collected onchain. The long-term goal is to evolve it into a **Nounish marketplace** where artists can host and manage their own independent galleries.

Around **25 Base App codes** were distributed during this meetup, allowing artists to open their wallets and test the onboarding flow before the fair.

### 3. Space Design & Setup
The fair took place at **Casa de Mono**, which was completely transformed for the occasion.
The illustrated characters and decorative pieces were designed by **[Bicho Raro](https://farcaster.xyz/bichorarodraws)**, while **[Camilita](https://farcaster.xyz/camilita)** coordinated the visual production, prepared all final files for printing and social media, and supervised the fabrication of each prop and signage.
The space included three printed banners on the façade, a photo wall by Bicho Raro, a set of **inflatable Noggles**, and another set of **wooden Noggles** used for public intervention and collaborative painting.
Each selected artist received a **care package** prepared by the team, which contained:
- Their printed stickers (for those participating in the sticker category)
- The *Mi Primera DAO* fanzine designed by Camilita
- Paper noggles by **BIGSHOTTOYS**
- A notebook
- A keychain as a gift from the fair
The **Nouns booth** featured official merch and accessories from BIGSHOTTOYS, including the red and gold plastic Noggles and other limited pieces designed for the event.
The **technical layout** included:
- One 58” television
- One projector for screenings
- One inflatable screen five meters wide
- Stage with LED screen and sound system
- Lighting setup for performances and talks

### 4. Program
The event followed a two-part structure each day: **pedagogical workshops from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.**, and the **graphic fair open to the public from 2:00 p.m. onward**.
**Day 1 – October 31.** Dedicated to setup, receiving artists’ materials, and technical tests.
**Day 2 – November 1.** Morning workshops were led by **ABECE**, who hosted a cyanotype printing session, and **Yoltika**, who conducted a workshop on engraving over adhesive paper. In the afternoon, the fair opened to the public with food vendors, local products, and a vinyl set by Los Ausentes del Ritmo. The evening closed with a screening of *Nounbreakers* and a live performance by [Marsue](https://farcaster.xyz/marsue).
**Day 3 – November 2.** The morning began with workshops by [Don Fingo](https://www.instagram.com/donfingo.caricaturista) (linocut) and [Guácala Studio](https://www.instagram.com/guacala_studio/) (character design). The afternoon featured a talk on speculative futures by [Platohedro](https://farcaster.xyz/platohedro) and a live VR sculpture session by [Braviera](https://instagram.com/braviera). Later, screenings included *Nouns Fest* and *Nouns Animator Jam*, along with the pilot for *Nouns Experimental Music Sessions*. The fair closed with the collective piñata by Camilita and a concert by [Branbel](https://www.instagram.com/branbel.music/) presenting *El Tiempo es Oro*.
**Day 4 – November 3.** Focused on dismantling, cleaning, and a final debrief with the production team.

### 5. Team & Roles
The general coordination and curation were led by **Nadiecito**, who authored the proposal and managed the project’s execution.
**[Camilita](https://farcaster.xyz/camilita)** served as art director, coordinated the design team, prepared all final materials for print and digital channels, designed the *Mi Primera DAO* fanzine, and supervised the fabrication of physical pieces, props, and signage.
**[Bicho Raro](https://farcaster.xyz/bichorarodraws)** designed all characters and visual assets used across the space and digital materials, including the backgrounds for the miniapp.
**[Diego Guevara](https://www.instagram.com/stencildiego)** managed logistics, production, and post-production coordination.
**[Gabriel Lago](https://farcaster.xyz/gabriellagomusic)** was responsible for onboarding and offramping support, as well as the technical development of the miniapp. Together with Nadiecito and Sweetman, he built the prototype marketplace for the whitelisted artists participating in the fair.
The broader production team handled setup, operations, and teardown, supported by two staff members responsible for cleaning and maintenance throughout the four days.

### 6. Online Reach
Between October 9 and November 7, the fair’s online presence reached a total of **166,200 views**, with **3,500 interactions**, **254 new followers**, and **104 shared posts**. The main promotional poster surpassed **30,000 views**, and posts announcing selected artists, workshops, and performances reached between **5,000 and 11,000 views**. The account maintained steady organic growth before, during, and after the event.

### 7. Closing Notes
The **Nounish Fair 2025** consolidated a strong cultural link between Cali’s creative communities and the global Nouns ecosystem. It strengthened networks among local Web3 creators while introducing new participants to decentralized tools and collaborative cultural production.
During the two days of the fair (**November 1–2**), more than **100 wallets were opened** through Base App, and total crypto transactions and purchases exceeded **500 USD** across the different stands and artists.
Beyond the event itself, the fair left in place a connected community, a functional onboarding experience, and a working marketplace miniapp that continues to evolve.
