Memo 0x2cab7ffc…bc45a8 on Ethereum

I wish there were a way that nouns could remain a truly permissionless protocol forever, because for me (like for many) this was one of the aspects of the grand experiment that attracted me here in the first place. But it seems that is an increasingly more naive and untenable position within the present regulatory environment, according to people who are paid a lot of money to be deeply knowledgable about these things. So, the closing of this chapter of nouns is sort of bittersweet for me, but I am still forever bullish on the incredible people who make this community what it is, and excited to see what happens in this next season. To some of the good folks the DAO may lose on our way to the other side (Paperclip bros, three9s, others), I want to say that I respect and understand your position and please, don't be strangers. <3 +1 > We all dream of a purely onchain modality for Nouns. Unfortunately, real-world implications make this impractical on any meaningful scale. > > DUNA is a means to an end. At worst, we attempt to cross the chasm with a crypto-native brand and fail. At best, the combination of a novel legal framework powered by crypto rails enables liquid capital to create something no one could have dared to imagine. > > the only way is through!
