# Nouns at Appcon Milan
## Summary
This proposal requests 40,000 USDC to have Nouns represent Ethereum at Appcon (7–13 April 2025) and to create a culturally significant mural in a prime location in Milan, Italy.
This initiative is part of a strategic effort to onboard not just visitors but the local district—and ultimately the entire city—to Ethereum and crypto.
**Why Nouns?**
- It embodies the creative, fun, young-oriented, permissionless, and decentralised aspects of Ethereum. As such we’d like for Nouns to be one of the brands representing Ethereum alongside Farcaster and Coinbase.
- Its values strongly resonate with the local community (an active socio-cultural center) enabling us to educate and involve them in the ecosystem, potentially turning them into ambassadors in bringing the world onchain.
The funding will be allocated as follows:
- **15,000 USDC** to commission a mural in an iconic, high-traffic area of Milan. This year-long urban installation will serve as a cultural artifact, symbolizing the city’s transition into the crypto era and ensuring millions of impressions.
- **12,500 USDC** to develop an immersive, interactive experience featuring Nounish apps, designs, and educational activities, with the goal of onboarding thousands of new users to its ecosystem.
- **12,500 USDC** to cover logistical needs, including lodging for participating teams, shipping costs and set up of physical objects to be showcased at the venue.

## Background
**Appcon** is the first event designed to showcase the top Ethereum applications and experiences to a non-crypto audience. Held during Milan Design Week—the largest design and innovation fair in Europe—Appcon highlights projects such as Farcaster and Base, reaching over 50,000 visitors through a week of immersive activities, workshops, talks, and interactive demos. This setting presents a great opportunity to introduce Nouns and Ethereum to a diverse, global audience.

## Proposal Details
### 1. Mural Activation (15,000 USDC)
**Objective:** Commission a mural by young, talented local artists that captures the synergy between Ethereum, Nouns, and the evolving Ethereum ecosystem.
**Location & Execution:**
- **Site:** Center of BAM park, one of the highest traffic areas of Milan.
- **Feature:** The mural will be painted on the staircase (3D effect) of a highly active socio-cultural center, ensuring maximum visibility and engagement especially from younger audiences.
- **Design:** The artwork will integrate Nouns’ iconic visual language with elements related to Ethereum, with the goal to spark conversation and interest among the audience.
**Impact:** This mural will serve as a **year-long** urban installation, offering a dynamic visual narrative that sparks interest in Nouns and Ethereum in a culturally significant space.
**Cost breakdown:** The cost covers site expenses, lodging and food for a week for 6 artists-in-residence, as well as all necessary paint and materials.
### 2. Nouns Showcase at Appcon (12,500 USDC)
- **Objective:** Create an engaging, interactive showcase that introduces Nouns to a broad audience at Appcon, using immersive experiences and physical designs to captivate and educate newcomers.
- **Activation Details:**
- **Apps and Experiences:** A dedicated space at the venue featuring Nounish apps and experiences, designed to introduce Nouns and explain Ethereum to newcomers in a fun and accessible way.
- **Design Showcase:** A curated collection of Noggles and other Nounish design objects, featured as part of the Milan Design Week exhibition.
- **Branding across the venue:** Strategic placement of Nouns branding throughout the venue, including digital displays, signage, and installations.
- **Workshops & Talks:** Public educational sessions and discussions hosted by participating community members.
- **Selection process:**
On a Farcaster post, the community will vote for their favorite apps, artists and designs. The organizing team will then select the top entries that align with the event’s theme, and if there aren’t enough qualifying submissions, they will choose additional ones independently.
### 3. Logistical Support (12,500 USDC)
**Objective:** Ensure seamless operations for all teams and physical assets throughout the event by providing comprehensive logistical support.
**Details and Costs breakdown:**
- **Lodging & Transportation (10,000 USDC):** Arrange accommodations and local transportation for 5 participating teams, with up to 2 members per team.
- **Shipping, Setup & Installation (2,500 USDC):** Manage the shipment and installation of physical objects at the venue, including handling customs and coordinating local delivery logistics to ensure that all materials are ready for display.
