> I'm totally with you on the thesis -- I agree that streaming has made it such that the real money in music is in building fandom and selling merch, concert tickets, etc. Sell to the superfans, and let the music free so you can build as big of an audience as possible. Commoditize the compliment and people need to re-write their brains to understand that in 2024 the music is actually the compliment.
