Memo 0x57874314…a8a397 on Ethereum

Hey James, - Yes, teams should be held accountable. - Yes, after a prop passes we should monitor the progress closely. - Yes, monthly updates should be made mandatory. - Yes, the stream is definitely a better way for the DAO to keep things under control, instead of spending millions in projects that could be abandoned after taking the entire sum beforehand. But. We didn’t take the money and run. We’ve never stopped building. We never stopped being in touch with the ecosystem. We were waiting for the end of Q1 for the propdate, but of course we will be more proactive and open from now on. But we have never stopped building for the ecosystem. Things are going exactly as planned and, being a 1 year mandate, we organized all the pipeline of releases based on this timeframe. And we’re only 2.5 months in. Most importantly, this prop is not deciding how we should move forward with the DAO. This is about whether or not our operations must stop immediately. It originated from this simple question, and there’s been a constant shift of focus from this question to a series of other situations. But let’s not forget what are we voting on here. Not on what’s happening in the comments, in the chats, on WC. This is about whether we are building and delivering and deserve our stream or not. And I’m not saying that people should not speak their mind, but maybe this should have been discussed in topics first, instead or before becoming an actual prop. Hope everyone can keep this in mind and make an informed decision. +1 > I'm voting "for" to bring attention to this issue, knowing that my vote likely won't result in the prop passing given the existing votes. > > I think accountability for proposers is extremely important, and actions like this to cancel a stream when things aren't going as planned is something I would like to see more of. > > On this particular issue, I don't know enough about the background details to say if the stream should be canceled or not, but if further scrutiny shows that it is warranted, then I am very much in favor of it happening. (And if it gets canceled but then things improve, it can always be started again!)
