# Bring That's Gnarly onchain
Hey Gnars-folk, rocketman here.
I'm bringing this proposal to you all in the hopes that we can work together to bring the magic of [That's Gnarly](https://thatsgnar.ly/) onchain.
Our goal is to upgrade Daily Drops to be a permissionless onchain mechanism to earn revenue for Gnars and onboard shredders, and to build a Nouns Builder-esque system for local communities across the globe to easily build their own mainstream-accessible subdaos under the Gnars brand.
# Intro
That's Gnarly became the community media home of Gnars DAO. Over the past year, our team has been working tirelessly to build and improve That's Gnarly. We've helped the Gnars community earn over **10 ETH**, split between shredders and the Gnars DAO treasury. We've seen over 8k MAUs on the platform at it's peak, with stories (15+), creations (2,500+ uploaded), drops (200+), shop items like Gnarsauce all sold through the platform. We've onboarded skateboard legends like Stevie Williams, and seen content uploaded from across the globe.
We want to take all this grass-roots gnarly activity onchain.
# Goal
**Our goal is to help Gnars bring a million shredders onchain.** We will do this through a clean, mobile first experience, that will be the go to spot for shredders all around the world to engage and uplift their communities through the power of Gnars DAO.
Local communities will be able to easily request funding through the DAO page, build contests to onboard their communities and friends at events, and share their gnarly media for the world to see.
Additionally, communities like DH Nouns that operate under the Gnars brand will be able to spin up their own nounish subdaos on That's Gnarly in one click, fully onchain on Base.

# The Plan
### **A Gnarly revolution builder**
A flow for local communities to create their own Nounish DAO on That's Gnarly in one click just like Nouns Builder. These communities will be hosted on That's Gnarly, and come with splits contracts to earn treasury revenue, an onchain DAO, and an onchain feed for shredders to earn and engage on.
The communities will be built with [revolution](https://github.com/collectivexyz/revolution-protocol), a new protocol we have been developing for over a year that makes it easier to earn a vote in the DAO for your efforts.
### **Daily drops contract**
We previously ran Daily Drops in a manner that required manual intervention from a trusted party (rocketman, Davin, and xargs). We saw tons of shredders onboarded and over **10 ETH** earned for the treasury through the daily drops mechanic. We'd like to bring this mechanic onchain, and make it permissionless, just like the Gnars daily auctions.
* Gnars holders and That's Gnarly collectors will be able to vote for the top pieces of content uploaded to That's Gnarly, fully onchain on Base L2
* Create a wrapper on top of Zora ERC1155 contracts, owned by Gnars DAO, to drop the top content to a new That's Gnarly NFT collection, every day, forever.

* Set up an audit with 0x52 for the drop contract
* Implement any recommended changes or fixes based on the audit findings.

* Bring all past and future creations fully onchain to ensure maximum composability and to enable developers to build on TG
* Integrate Zora free mints to enable anyone to easily mint the content they upload
* Continue improving the [DAO](https://thatsgnar.ly/thatsgnarly/dao) page and overall site UX
# Funds Request
### That's Gnarly Dev ($20k USDC)
Our team consists of two developers now, rocketman and @wkocjan. We were previously funded by VCs, but have no money left from them.
We kindly ask for your support in funding That's Gnarly so we can keep building for the community.
We propose a budget allocation of $20k. This will help to extend runway on That's Gnarly for at least another 2 months ($5k/month/developer) and allow us to deliver the planned features and upgrades to the site. We are actively looking for other funding routes in the meantime, and envision this to be our only funding ask of Gnars DAO for the foreseeable future.
### Revolution Contract Audit ($12k USDC)
We are working on a new protocol codenamed [Revolution](https://github.com/collectivexyz/revolution-protocol).
We've already paid for an initial audit with Code4rena ($52k). All contracts will be used by the subdaos created on That's Gnarly. We asking Gnars to help cover 10% of the cost of the past 2 audits (\~$6k), which will enable us to have more time to keep building That's Gnarly.
We're asking Gnars to cover the cost of auditing the Daily Drops contract, we don't have money to pay for it ourselves. We estimate the cost to audit the Daily Drops contract at $6k. So, \~$12k total.
