Thanks for the feedback, Volky!
I’d like to clarify that this prop is not about the DAO paying just to get an answer, it’s about the DAO investing to unlock a new potential source of income. Our goal is to show, in practice, how decentralized tools can create real value for local communities while also building sustainable pathways, both for social impact projects and for the DAO itself.
We all know the potential of Web3: lower fees, more autonomy, decentralized power. But that power still hasn’t reached most communities. Our idea is to bring that knowledge, and access, to our city, and inspire other small cities around the world to follow the same path.
We believe that starting with a local social project that already has community trust is the most effective way. It has traction, credibility, and strong ties with local stakeholders. By introducing Web3 tools in this existing ecosystem, we’re creating real-world utility from day one, and we believe the results will scale organically.
In other words, we’re not starting from scratch. We’re building a bridge between what already works and what Web3 can unlock.

> Skeptical of demand for web3 services in that context, and the DAO paying to get that answer seems to be reversing the burden of proof. Maybe gather some preliminary data that shows this is worth digging into.

It's a weak promise of, maybe, way further down the road, finding a viable business model that contributes back to Nouns.

Nobody is doing that, so I'd love to see proposers stepping up to support the DAO as much as it has historically supported social initiatives.

Not sure what's the business model to find there, but I think we need to start seeding compounding returns to the treasury if we want the DAO to continue.
