Hi! I really like the strategic focus on the African market, it's a fast growing space for crypto adoption and a great opportunity for Nouns to expand its presence globally. The emphasis on financial inclusion is also important, and I see strong potential to build a local community through the platform.
I noticed the proposal includes wallet connection and task-based rewards, which is great. That said, to strengthen the impact, I’d love to see:
Clear integration of Nouns identity and branding throughout the platform experience
A solid marketing plan for post launch users and community engagement
Details on which blockchain or L2 the platform will use (ideally a low-fee one like Base) to ensure accessibility for users
Looking forward to seeing how this evolves

Hey, thanks for sharing the proposal. I really respect the story and the mission behind it.
That said, IMO projects focused only on charity or social causes are getting harder to pass in the Nouns ecosystem right now. For this to have a real chance, it needs to go beyond emotional impact and actually help grow the Web3 space too.
Right now, there’s no clear tech education layer. Adding that kind of structure would not only help the youth, but also create real awareness and engagement around Nouns.
I’d suggest showing how Nouns (like the noggles, CC0 art, or fun creative tools) will be used, and setting measurable goals that connect back to the DAO or web3 in general.
Social impact is powerful, but it needs to feed the ecosystem too.

Me and the team would like to thank everyone who took the time to give feedback, vote, and listen to us during the calls about this proposal. Every piece of feedback matters. We don't see this as a defeat, because we know we can bring something valuable and with real returns to the DAO without losing our essence.
We are already working on our V2, taking everything that was said into consideration.
Thank you, community — we keep building!
Thank you for your feedback, Bix. Our conversations were super productive.
I’m already in contact with companies like Binance Pay, Coinbase, and others to evaluate whether the strategy you mentioned is the best fit for the area we’re working in, alongside other ideas we have for generating revenue. This depends on factors like local laws and whether these companies are officially registered in Brazil.
That said, this is just a small step (already in progress) within the broader plan we're proposing. You can't simply introduce Web3 into a new place without preparation. There’s groundwork involved, interest research, meetings, in-person connections, along with training at each location to ensure people fully understand what’s being proposed.
When major companies enter a new market, they often conduct research that can take weeks or months before rolling out a strategy. That’s exactly the structured approach we’re taking.
All the methods and learnings will be documented and made available for anyone who wants to replicate the model elsewhere. We’ll also be fully available to support other communities interested in applying it.

> I shared this feedback with Ricky during a community call in the Lil Nouns discord server but I think instead of just onboarding businesses to crypto in general, the first step should be partnering with a payment processing platform that accepts and processes crypto. An example would be becoming a Moonpay affiliate... this would allow you to onboard businesses through crypto payment processing while also making passive ongoing revenue, which could be split with the DAO. Also something like Slice would allow the splits to happen automatically so theres no 'trust me bro' offchain transactions that have to be accounted for.
Thanks for the feedback, Volky!
I’d like to clarify that this prop is not about the DAO paying just to get an answer, it’s about the DAO investing to unlock a new potential source of income. Our goal is to show, in practice, how decentralized tools can create real value for local communities while also building sustainable pathways, both for social impact projects and for the DAO itself.
We all know the potential of Web3: lower fees, more autonomy, decentralized power. But that power still hasn’t reached most communities. Our idea is to bring that knowledge, and access, to our city, and inspire other small cities around the world to follow the same path.
We believe that starting with a local social project that already has community trust is the most effective way. It has traction, credibility, and strong ties with local stakeholders. By introducing Web3 tools in this existing ecosystem, we’re creating real-world utility from day one, and we believe the results will scale organically.
In other words, we’re not starting from scratch. We’re building a bridge between what already works and what Web3 can unlock.

**Hey Volky,**
Thank you so much for this valuable feedback. I’ll clarify a few points to present the broader reasoning behind this proposal, because, as you pointed out, the DAO needs **new initiatives that seriously consider its sustainability**.
### About future revenue generation for the DAO
IMO you're right, this is **the biggest challenge for Nouns today**. Part of our goal with this proposal is precisely to experiment with **alternative, yet responsible and realistic paths** for generating financial return to the treasury, based on: **mobilize local communities**, **foster real entrepreneurship** in both physical and online settings.
The research phase is not an "excuse" to fit the current sustainability narrative. It is the **strategic foundation** we need to **build a solid structure** that allows us to bring revenue to the DAO and help the social project become self-sustainable.
Since we can’t guarantee real-life examples during phase 1, we chose not to promise that in the proposal, we need to present **structured, certain outcomes**. So, in phase 1, there will be **experiments that are part of our research**, aiming to build a **real and economically viable model** that benefits the treasury, the community, and the business arm of the social project.
### About the "visibility as value" thesis
For sure **visibility alone won’t sustain the DAO**. We need new theses, and that’s exactly what we’re trying to build here. This proposal combines:
• Local onchain community building and social impact
• **Practical exploration of stablecoins and crypto as economic tools**, starting with small and realistic use cases (like using USDC, Coinbase, Binance Pay, etc., by entrepreneurs)
• The construction of a **replicable narrative**, adaptable to other small towns facing similar challenges
Is this an ambitious model? **Perhaps, yes**, but it’s being built **step by step, with responsibility**. We’re not promising immediate profits. We’re proposing to **build, test, and validate** something that can become a **real alternative for Treasury return in the medium/long term**, connecting to the social impact that has always been a fundamental part of what Nouns represents.
**"Create positive externalities, embrace absurdity & difference, teach people about Nouns & crypto"**
### About replicability and practical delivery
We don’t believe in a "plug-and-play" model, and it would be a mistake to sell that idea here. But we do believe it’s possible to create an **adaptable framework**, where the core of the proposal, **connection with local entrepreneurs, experiments with crypto, and return to the DAO**, can be customized to other regions, with **direct support from our team**.
That’s why **mentorships are one of the business ideas** we’re looking to implement locally. We’ve already received feedback on other potential methods, and the research phase is exactly where we’ll **find the ideal model for the community we’re working with**.
This support, for other towns and social projects, will be **offered for free**, based on our real-world experience with this experiment. We’ll also make the **research methodology public**, so others can apply the same approach elsewhere — or, if not, they’ll at least have a **general framework** to guide them in starting something different in their own region.
This entire experiment will be **documented with reports, real-life stories, and practical learnings**.
### About the value of experience
Agree, **Real experience is worth far more than any generic framework.** That said, our framework needs to be somewhat generic, not to be "plug-and-play", but to serve as **a guide** that people can **adapt locally** into their own real experiences.
After all, how could we claim to offer something plug-and-play to someone living in a **completely different cultural context**?
**What we want to bring to the DAO is a model tested in the field**, one that can be **replicated and adapted** to other regions, with the goal of generating **sustainable returns for the Treasury in the medium and long term**.

Hi! Thanks for taking the time to read our prop and come with question.
1.The facility is currently in its original state, a regular house with basic infrastructure. It is functional but in need of renovations to better serve the community and expand its potential. O can see a little about the facility and the history of the project in this 1 min video https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XrbfI1EUHA8FN01x1etHe5gjn5IWxa69/view?usp=sharing
2. To accommodate the new areas and increase the number of students, we rented the house next door under a 5-year contract, which allows us to make the necessary renovations. The plan is to adapt the new space and connect it with the original facility, turning both into a single, unified environment. The renovation involves both optimizing internal spaces and physically integrating the two buildings.
3. Yes, the architectural team is local and Familiarwith the cultural context of the region. We, as builders, are directly leading the architectural process to ensure everything aligns perfectly with the proposal. In fact, the 3D models featured in our proposal were developed by the architectural team.
4. Yes, absolutely. They provided all cost for the renovation, allowing us to have a much more accurate estimate and avoid surprises later on. If the concern is whether we might need to request additional funding to complete the renovationin, don't worry, we have planned and organized carefully to ensure this is a one-time funding request.
5. Yes, in this context, Surf for Good is the social project wallet. The diagram is meant to illustrate a model that could be applied to social projects in other locations as well, making this structure easily replicable.
Any more question let me know, thanks!

> Glad to see Ricky and the team bring another impactful proposal onchain. I've personally witnessed his influence in the city, and I have no doubt about their ability to deliver on this vision. Nouns has made a huge impact in Brazil and this project adds another great chapter to that story!
any-licensed-engineers,-architects,-or-contractors-in-nouns?-nouns-construction-lessons-learned-or-success-stories?Did you get a chance to check out this prop?
https://www.nouns.camp/proposals/788
It’s a method you could replicate in your Medical center.
You’d keep doing what your prop already proposes, but add a Web3 educational layer to it.
From there, you can offer services, products, MVPs, whatever makes the most sense for you.
The income flows back to the Medical center and, depending on the model, a portion can also go to the DAO treasury through what you decide to offer.
If you're interested, I'm available to help you explore how this method could be applied to your project.
# Vote with clarity and confidence - Bringing Small Cities Onchain
Prop [788](https://www.nouns.camp/proposals/788) is up, and we created this topic to make sure you can cast your vote with clarity and confidence.
Over the past few months, we’ve seen a recurring theme in Prop feedback: a strong desire for proposals that are **replicable, scalable, self-sustainable, and socially impactful**.
With that in mind, we developed a simple, yet layered, idea that brings all of these principles together in a single proposal.
We believe it has the potential to deliver real value to the DAO, from **brand visibility** to **cultural influence,** while helping shape a new path forward.
We’re doing our best to meet the DAO’s expectations, and this proposal is an important opportunity to influence new cultures through Web3. Even more powerful: it’s a model that **any of you can replicate in your own community**.
If anything’s unclear, feel free to drop your questions here, or [book a quick call](https://calendar.app.google/JhtMGrw2TFQwpkvb8). I’ve opened up my calendar this week and would be happy to go deeper with anyone interested.
**Here’s a quick summary of the proposal. The detailed implementation of the first pilot is in the Prop itself:**
---
The goal is to create a **business plan that any builder can replicate in their own community**, in partnership with a local social project.
In our case, we’ll be doing it in my hometown: **Búzios, Brazil.**
The project has two phases, and this proposal is for **Phase 1**. (Phase 2 doesn’t require DAO funding.)
**Phase 1**
We’ll fund a local social project to structure its educational arm, turning the space into an **innovation hub** with workshops and hackathons. Once the educational side is running, we’ll conduct research to understand how open local businesses are to accepting crypto payments.
**Phase 2**
Based on the research, we’ll create a Web3 services branch inside the project to help local businesses onboard into crypto. This will generate revenue, **making the project self-sustainable** — and potentially bringing value back to the DAO.
Through this model, we’ll support the **local economy in the short term**, educate the **next generation in the long term**, and build a **replicable and self-sustaining model** for other communities.vote-with-clarity-and-confidence---bringing-small-cities-onchain
# How To Bring Small Cities On-Chain - Replicable Business Model
# How To Bring Small Cities On-Chain
## Replicable Business Model – Short and Long-Term Impact
### TLDR:
**Inspired by some DAO reflections** on treasury, replicable models, and new ways to impact communities and individuals, we created **a simple idea that can be replicated** in any small city or neighborhood.
### This funding is for:
**Phase 1 (this prop)** **Renovation → Education → Research** Each step is connected, as shown in the diagram.
**Phase 2 (after Research):** **Web3 Services → Crypto Acceptance → Income / Self-Sustainability** This phase **WON'T** require new funding, unless there's a clear path to benefit the treasury.
Following the TLDR, we show how this model could be implemented in a small city.

## Guide
- City and Social Project Chosen
- Research Plan and Workshops
- Web3 Services
- What Is the Budget For? (Detailed)
- Benefits for Nouns
- Budget Breakdown

### City: Búzios, Brazil
Búzios is one of the most visited cities in Brazil by international tourists. With over **1.2 million visitors annually**, both national and international, it represents the ideal environment to bring **a global city on-chain**. One that welcomes **global currencies** and embraces innovation.
---
### Social Project: Surf for Good
[Surf for Good](https://www.instagram.com/surfdobem/) is a ongoing social project based in Búzios, founded in 2021 focused on empowering **girls aged 7 to 17** from public schools. Through a unique blend of **education, surfing, and personal development**, it offers a safe space and practical tools for building a brighter future.
In a tourism-driven city where local youth, especially girls, face limited opportunities, Surf for Good acts as a **catalyst for change**. With plans to expand from **180 to 350 students** and introduce new programs, the project is evolving into a **movement of empowerment and transformation**.
Watch this 1:15 min presentation [video](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XrbfI1EUHA8FN01x1etHe5gjn5IWxa69/view?usp=sharing) about Surf for Good and their ongoing project.

**Bel, the project’s founder, discovered Nouns during the execution of prop 512**. Since August 2024, Rickyday and Samchalom have joined the project’s back office, bringing new ideas and tech expertise. Bel is part of the leadership behind this proposal.

**Búzios**, the hometown of builders **Rickyday**, **Samchalom**, and **Bel (Surf for Good´s Founder)** will be the starting point for city-wide research to understand the **needs and interests of local businesses** regarding **Web3 and crypto adoption**.
This research will take place over the course of several months and may evolve (we are open to new ideas and collaborations):
## The Research
The most direct method is to **assess the interest of local businesses in accepting crypto as payment**.
We will divide the research based on the city’s **main economic sectors**, especially those whose customer base is primarily **tourist-driven**:
- Hospitality (Hotels & Inns)
- Restaurants
- Local Shops
- Nautical Market (Búzios is a coastal city with strong marine tourism)
In addition, the team will conduct an **in-depth study on the best legal and practical ways to accept crypto payments**, both **online and in physical stores**, in compliance with **Brazilian local regulations**.
## Education & Workshops

**Once the Surf for Good headquarters renovation is completed**, we will regularly host public **talks and hackathons** for local businesses and the community. We’ll also organize **collaborative workshops with partner institutes**, inviting representatives from other projects, **especially nounish ones**, to share their work in Web3 and its real-world impact.
These sessions will introduce concepts like:
- DAOs (Decentralized Autonomous Organizations)
- Web3 communities
- DeFi (Decentralized Finance)
- Real-world case studies
- Nouns and other impactful ecosystems

### Short-Term Impact
**Rickyday, Samchalom and Bel**, who personally know almost every business owner in town (a major **advantage of small cities**), will launch a **Web3 consulting arm under Surf for Good** to help local businesses come **on-chain**.
Hackathons will help clarify doubts and spark curiosity.
While the girls in the project are still learning and developing their skills, this initiative will already allow **Surf for Good to generate revenue** through crypto onboarding services, right after the research phase.
---
### Long-Term Vision
**THE ULTIMATE GOAL is for the graduating girls** from the Surf for Good program to become **apprentices** in these Web3 consultancies: learning implementation, customer support, and business adaptation.
With this, they’ll be empowered to:
- Build their own consulting careers
- Join the official Web3 service team of Surf for Good
- Continue spreading the impact of education and innovation in their community

**Surf for Good is requesting funding solely for its growth, operational costs for the new areas and managing the research.** This expansion will require hiring new teachers, renovating the space to accommodate the new areas, and delivering on the commitments outlined in this proposal. The renovation is expected to be completed within a maximum period of 2 to 3 months after starts.
## Renovation & Education
To accommodate the planned growth, we will undergo an internal renovation. **This reform is essential to expand the space and adapt it to the needs of the upcoming education programs.**
**Technology Education**
- Creation of a dedicated **computer lab** teaching programing, finances (DeFi), Sheets, video/photo edits.

**English Language Classes**
- Focused instruction to prepare students for **tourism related job opportunities and online international opportunities.**
**Psychological Support**
- **Professional guidance** and counseling

**Web3 & Community Engagement**
- **Hosting Web3/Nouns focused talks** with leading Nounish Brazilian influencers, **specially womans**. Inviting experts from the broader Web3 ecosystem to showcase the limitless opportunities within Web3, beyond Nouns.
**Nouns Graffiti Personalization**:
- [Nouns Graffiti](https://www.instagram.com/nounsgraffiti/) will ensure the arts reflects the vibrant identity of the Nouns community.

More areas 3D design **created by an architectural team**, envisioning how the school can be transformed with a more **Nounish** identity.
**Entrance:**

**Art and Playroom area**

**Self Defense and extra activities area**

**Note**: These art wall are illustrative. The ideia is to enhace delivered props once the renovation is complete, **Nouns Graffiti** will contribute their expertise to design all internal and external artwork, ensuring the school embodies the nounish vibe community.
The **Research phase will happen alongside Renovation and Education**, as explained in the "Research" section above. A key goal is to get local businesses interested and involved in the workshops along the way.

### CC0 Business Model
- Simple replicable business model, adaptable to each city or neighborhood and its specific needs.
### Public Good
- Open Web3/Nouns Talks.
### Community Engagement
- Nounish Graffiti: A permanent visual identity.
- Nouns Members as speakers alongside other Web3 influencers.

The **Research phase will happen alongside Renovation and Education**, as explained in the "Research" section above. A key goal is to get local businesses interested and involved in the workshops along the way.

how-to-bring-small-cities-on-chain---replicable-business-modelBased on community feedbacks, we’ve made several key updates to the proposal:
- Divided the project into two clear phases, as shown in the TLDR and diagram. This proposal covers Phase 1 only, and Phase 2 will NOT require additional funding unless it directly benefits the treasury.
- Clarified how each step in Phase 1 depends on the previous one, showing how renovation, education, and research are interconnected.
- We’ve moved the education funding to a streamed format, as suggested by some community members.
-Simplified and reduced the overall text to make the proposal easier to read and understand.
- Streamlined the budget breakdown for more transparency.
- Removed the sailing class, which was never part of the funding request. But it will happen anyway.
We're grateful for the feedback and hope these updates reflect the spirit of collaboration we aim to bring on-chain 🙌

Thanks, Goyabean! We truly believe that starting in small cities can create a ripple effect. We're excited to prove that with a low cost, we can still make a big impact, both in short and long term. 🙌

> It’s honestly a steal when you consider the potential reach and long-term benefits. If this were being executed in the U.S.A., the associated costs would be astronomical in comparison. Rooting efforts in small cities and neighborhoods is great for grassroots adoption.
I'm voting FOR this version because I really liked the changes and adjustments made. I love the work Rocketman is doing with Flows and the impact we're generating.
I agree with Bigshot that in the end, everything recorded on Flows by the IAs ends up in the FC, which is mostly DAO members showing other DAO members what they’re doing. Are we really reaching others and helping more people discover the brand that way?
I believe that encouraging people to also post on other platforms like IG and X and enabling IAs to track this post could help us create even more impact, each one using their strongest social media platform.
Would love to see this prop move forward.

> First off i have to say that I absolutely love and support flows and @rocketman and all of teh builders that have been consistently elevating nouns world wide. I do have to agree with Jane about a token , use of closed AI, and that the Dao is not a payroll system. I would love to see flows work as a small grant system that then graduates to a prophouse like round and hopefully go towards full on chain proposals for larger funds/streams. Most importantly I would love to see a better system of documentation, cataloging and sharing the wonderful accomplishments of the community not just on farcaster but on all media, perhaps set up weekly bounties on posts and projects that get the most traction and shares. In my opinion there is a lot of focus on the back end framework and accounting and not enough focused on getting the message of nouns out to the world beyond the FC channel . Happy to assist where possible and hope that this helps
things-worth-fixingI just submitted a candidate focused on some of the DAO Issues currently being discussed across recent proposals and threads like this one.
I believe it can contribute by offering:
A replicable, CC0 model
A potential new source of income for the treasury through a long-term "product/service" strategy

Replicable Business Model
# How To Bring Small Cities On-Chain
## Replicable Business Model – Short and Long-Term Impact
### TLDR:
**Inspired by some DAO reflections** on treasury, replicable models, and new ways to impact communities and individuals, we created **a simple idea that can be replicated** in any small city or neighborhood.
Following the TLDR, we show how this model could be implemented in a small city.

This is funding to test a new **Nounish business model**, focused on local research that can be replicated anywhere, depending on the local builder and specific needs. After the research phase, the **services provided** to local businesses can either \***give back to the DAO treasury or remain self-sustainable.**

**Bel discovered Nouns during the execution of prop 512**. Since August 2024, Rickyday and Samchalom have joined the project’s back office, bringing new ideas and tech expertise. Bel, the project’s founder, is part of the leadership behind this proposal.

### The Research
The most direct method is to **assess the interest of local businesses in accepting crypto as payment**.
We will divide the research based on the city’s **main economic sectors**, especially those whose customer base is primarily **tourist-driven**:
- Hospitality (Hotels & Inns)
- Restaurants
- Local Shops
- Nautical Market (Búzios is a coastal city with strong marine tourism)
In addition, the team will conduct an **in-depth study on the best legal and practical ways to accept crypto payments**, both **online and in physical stores**, in compliance with **Brazilian local regulations**.
### Education & Workshops

Once the **Surf for Good headquarters renovation is completed**, we will periodically host **talks and hackathons** for business owners interested in learning more about this space.

### CC0 Business Model
- Simple replicable business model, adaptable to each city or neighborhood and its specific needs.
### Public Goods
- Open Web3/Nouns Talks.
### Community Engagement
- Nounish Graffiti: A permanent visual identity.
- Nouns Members as speakers alongside other Web3 influencers.
### Awareness
- Increased Brand Recognition: Engaging the local community and business leaders, hopefully attracting new DAO members.
### Mass Impact
- Locally: Búzios – 40k inhabitants
- Nationally - Media Exposure: PR strategy and Social Media Content for national Web2 and Web3 visibility. (proven the results in propdate in [512](https://updates.wtf/update/512-3) and [606](https://updates.wtf/update/606-2))

### Planned Expansion
**Technology Education**
- Creation of a dedicated **computer lab**

**English Language Classes**
- Focused instruction to prepare students for **tourism related job opportunities and online international opportunities.**
**Psychological Support**
- **Professional guidance and counseling**

**Web3 & Community Engagement**
- **Hosting Web3/Nouns focused talks** with leading Nounish Brazilian influencers, **specially womans**. Inviting experts from the broader Web3 ecosystem to showcase the limitless opportunities within Web3, beyond Nouns.
**Marine Studies and Professional Training**
- Collaboration with Captain Rickyday to introduce nautical training.
- Preparation for careers in marine industries, where **no professional female sailors currently exist in Búzios**.

**Nouns Graffiti Personalization**:
- After the full refurbishment, [Nouns Graffiti](https://www.instagram.com/nounsgraffiti/) will personalize the space to make it as Nounish as possible. **Known for nounifying cities and leaving its mark at Brazilian events** such as Prop 512 and NFT Brasil, Nouns Graffiti will ensure the art and playroom reflects the vibrant identity of the Nouns community.

### The Reform
To accommodate the planned growth, we will undergo an internal renovation. **This reform is essential to expand the space and adapt it to the needs of the upcoming programs.**
More areas 3D design **created by an architectural team**, envisioning how the school can be transformed with a more **Nounish** identity.

things-worth-fixingLoved your reflection, especially the focus on turning Nouns into a more functional and efficient "product." I’ve been thinking about something complementary that might reinforce this idea: what if, instead of just improving governance and internal operations, we also explored more *traditional* (and even bold) ways to generate real-world sales tied to the Nouns universe?
**Just brainstorming here: should we start using traditional methods to boost the treasury?**
For example: *phygital* (physical + digital) limited edition products, collectibles, or even random Nouns-inspired products created *by the community*, connected to a Noun from the treasury.
But with a more structured approach, where **the DAO itself operates the “Nouns Store”** (or some branded site), and a community member is **hired as an actual team member** to manage the operation. After covering costs, **100% of the net profit** would be sent to the treasury monthly, along with a transparent report.
No proposers will own the store, will be an employee.
If we could replicate this model in some of the world’s major cities, with a modest budget for local and digital marketing, it could not only bring real revenue into the treasury, but also create physical touchpoints for people to experience Nouns. **A store, a gallery, a studio, a vending machine... everything is valid as an MVP.** The key is to test and iterate.
I also fully agree with the idea of creating **specialized sub-divisions within Nouncil**, focused by area (governance, product, art, IRL, etc).
Instead of trying to solve everything at once, we could empower smaller, focused groups, with clear ownership, to take charge of strategic initiatives like this store or products.
The more we manage to decentralize with **focus and real accountability**, the more progress we’ll see. And we can do all this without losing the core spirit of the project: a creative playground, but with just enough structure to be functional, relevant, and attractive to new contributors.
I'm in Flows so I will abstain.
Flows is great, but it ended up creating a dynamic where grantees started seeing each other as competitors. This change could help us collaborate more as a community and stop viewing others as rivals.
I agree with some of the points made here. Maybe having clearer directions toward shared goals, instead of too many independent Flows.
As JP said, Flows brought the spirit of Prop House and became a gateway into the ecosystem.
+1
> I believe in the potential of Flows, but right now it feels unfocused and difficult to rally around.
>
> Many grants either fund things people were already doing or they lack clear follow-through (not to mention the rugs). I’ve tried coordinating with grantees, and even getting the bare minimum of engagement has been challenging.
>
> What is the goal of Flows? What are we actually working toward? We need clear, centralized goals that leverage decentralized tools to coordinate decentralized communities. All in service of building the Nouns brand.
>
> I want a smaller budget version of this proposal. Less funding per month to grantees and more focused goals from the Flows team.
nouns-town-–-2025-edition-1Agree with Krel here.
Organizing a large event requires anticipation and time for preparation, especially if co-sponsors or partners are needed. We need to give this the green light so he can move forward with confidence and certainty in building this proposal.
Can you share what type of partners you’d like for NounsTown? I know some companies that might be interested in being part of the event to promote their brand alongside Nouns and to Nouns’ audience.
Last year’s Nouns Town was incredible, it brought the community closer together and helped curious outsiders get a real sense of who we are.
Regarding the tickets, I think your approach is fair. Bringing in volunteers is also a great way to show people working together as a community for a greater cause.
nouns-dao-–-activating-social-channelsI have to agree with some point with Bixbite and some of Mikegood.
Having worked with marketing and branding my whole life, I see many proposals with great impact and engagement lose potential after delivery simply because we don’t have something official.
We constantly have to point newcomers to different websites that represent the community as a whole, which can be confusing for those just entering the space. Decentralization isn’t something easy to grasp at first contact.
But decentralization doesn’t mean no one can take responsibility for anything. It means that decisions are discussed openly and made collectively by the community. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t designate someone to lead a specific area, like managing social media. The community votes on this, and it’s still decentralization.
Many people brought into the community don’t want to engage immediately, they prefer to observe what’s happening through social media, and beeing in spaces before feeling confident enough to participate actively.
We absolutely need someone managing the official Nouns X and IG accounts. This builds credibility and trust for newcomers while also supporting all the proposals working hard to bring more people into the community.
I think the question is who is gonna take care of social media
surf-for-good---empowering-girls-through-education-and-sport-1After receiving PV feedback , we will revise it to improve clarity and make a stronger impact on the DAO.
Soon, we’ll be back with V2!
nouns-dao-–-activating-social-channelsI'm constantly asked why there isn't a Nouns page with high engagement, considering how big the community is. Today, I always tag LilNouns on Instagram or X, since imo, it has become the main Nouns page where everything in the ecosystem is shared.
I’d love to see an official Nouns page managed in a neutral way, but then there's the challenge of decentralizing media. I agree with Volky, a Twitter bot would be a great solution. Is it possible to do the same for TikTok and Instagram?
cares-takes-on-nouns-dao-materialsGood initiative! I face some challenges when doing onboarding. I’d love to contribute to the material you’re creating and am available to help.
A resource for builders to use during onboarding would be super valuable, making the process easier instead of jumping between multiple sites to explain the concept of a community. And don’t get me wrong it’s not about centralizing everything in one place, but rather making it easier to find the right information.
downhill-nouns-connecting-with-the-world-irl
I love the work that DHnouns is doing. The quality of their events in LATAM consistently engages the public with the brand. It's a great way to showcase how Nouns stands out from others.

### Project Overview

**Bel’s Story & Connection to Nouns**
[Bel](https://www.instagram.com/belkurtz/), driven by her passion for sports and inclusion, founded Surf for Good in 2021 to empower girls through transformation and community. **Her connection with Nouns** began at the 2024 Búzios launch of *Sunny in Nicaragua*, produced by Rickyday and Samira. Inspired by Web3 and Nouns through [Props 512](https://updates.wtf/update/512-3) and [606](https://updates.wtf/update/606-2), [Rickyday](https://warpcast.com/rickyday) and [Samira](https://warpcast.com/samchalom) became **partners in Surf for Good after months of collaboration**.
**[Surf for Good](https://www.instagram.com/surfdobem/) is already self-sustaining through its sponsorship model**, which allows anyone to sponsor a child for 35 USDC per month. This approach ensures the current format of the project is maintained, while opening new doors to scale its impact with Nouns support, inspiring a new generation of women to chart their own paths in and out of the water.

Unlike many other countries, **public schools in Brazil often fail to deliver quality education**, while private education remains costly and inaccessible for most.
#### They already partner with local McDonald's franchise and other local business, McDonalds sponsored 40 surfboards.

We are negotiating to be able to paint a Ronald McDonald with Noggles. If not, we will do something close to it.
**Current Structure**
**Academic Support**:
- Math and Portuguese lessons four days a week, reinforcing foundational education.
**Sports and Personal Development**:
- Surfing lessons three times a week to instill discipline, resilience, and teamwork. The school has 40 "softboards" specifically for these lessons.
- Self-defense training for confidence and personal safety, ensuring young women are equipped with practical skills with confidence and security.

---
### Planned Expansion
**Technology Education**
- Creation of a dedicated **computer lab** with high-speed internet.
- Introduction to Excel, video and photo editor, and digital tools to **increase job opportunity**.
- **Web3 education** to explore financial independence and online opportunities.
- Open-access hours to techclass for **students to have online courses and research**.
- **Traditional basic finance** education to prepare them for the future.

**Marine Studies and Professional Training**
- Collaboration with Captain Rickyday to introduce nautical training.
- Preparation for careers in marine industries, where **no professional female sailors currently exist in Búzios**.

**English Language Classes**
- Focused instruction to prepare students for **tourism related job opportunities and online international opportunities.**
- Increased employability in Búzios thriving international tourism sector.
**Psychological Support**
- **Professional guidance and counseling** to address personal challenges are vital for empowering these young women. It offers them a safe space to navigate emotions, build resilience, and develop the confidence needed to overcome obstacles and pursue their goals with determination.

**Web3 & Community Engagement**
- **Hosting Web3/Nouns focused talks** with leading Nounish Brazilian influencers, **specially womans**. Inviting experts from the broader Web3 ecosystem to showcase the limitless opportunities within Web3, beyond Nouns.
- **These talks will be open**\* not only to students but also to their **families and all community members from Búzios interested in Web3**, expanding outreach and engagement beyond the school.
- Creating an art and playroom equipped with Nouns merchandise, including Nounish kendamas and custom coloring books inspired by the Nounish KitPass.
- Welcoming contributions from Nouns community members to enhance this space and make it a vibrant hub of creativity and interaction.

To accommodate the planned growth of the school and the diverse new activities we aim to introduce, we will undergo an internal renovation. **This reform is essential to expand the space and adapt it to the needs of the upcoming programs.**
Today we have one house for the ongoing structure, but we can't grow staying only with one house, so we rented the nextdoor house for a 5y rent term renewable, and they agree with all the reformation and project to integrate bouth houses as a unique place for the kids.
Below is a 3D design **created by an architectural team**, envisioning how the school can be transformed with a more **Nounish** identity.
**Entrance:**

**Art and Playroom area**

**Self defense and extra activities area**

### Note: These art wall are illustrative. The ideia is to enhace delivered props once the renovation is complete, Nouns Graffiti will contribute their expertise to design all internal and external artwork, ensuring the school embodies the nounish vibe community.
---
### Deliverables: Visibility & Nouns Impact
**Branded Equipment and Merch**
- **Surfboards**: 40 Customized surfboards by Nouns Graffiti, featured prominently during lessons and media coverage.
- 400 nounish kit, with ecobag, T'shirt, noogles, nounish planner and stickers to every kid, teachers and school members.
**Media Exposure**
- Strategic six month Press Relations campaign to highlight Nouns involvement and the project's success across Brazil, in web3 and web2.
- PR has an important role to outreach new partners and sponsors.
- Samira as a journalist she is, will take care of communication and regurlaly do articles in paragaph.xyz about news of the project and others nouns matter.

- Surf for Good is highly recognized in the city and **supported by local companies and business leaders. All of these individuals will see Nouns investing in a well established project**, capturing their attention as potential Nouners who might join the community and actively participate in governance. Many of them are already enthusiastic about engaging in government projects and contributing to initiatives that positively impact the city.
**Social Media Strategy**
- Dedicated social media management to ensure consistent showing Surf for Good work with Nouns contribuition and **visibility across platforms**.
- Regular posts, updates, and testimonials to keep the community and stakeholders informed of project progress.

Base ETH or USDC -> 0x55266f24829B2FC67E13f9a37739d0f5655c0c0D
**Long Term Nouns Integration**
- The impact of Nouns on their lifes is something they will carry on for years, but this prop is a financial support for 7 month of reformation and execution only for the part we are growing.
- The Nouns Grafitti art and school design will be kept as long as the ink is there.
- We will keep pushing Web3 for those kids and teaching it through media.

### What the Budget Is For
**Surf for Good is requesting funding solely for its growth and operational costs over a 7 months.** This expansion will require hiring new teachers, renovating the space to accommodate the new areas, and delivering on the commitments outlined in this proposal. The renovation is expected to be completed within a maximum period of 2 to 3 months after starts.
**Companies**, such as the local McDonald's franchise and other small local businesses, **are already supporting the ongoing project**. We need this initial kickoff to encourage new sponsorships and enable expansion into other future areas beyond this one.
The operational period covered by this funding will allow the project to establish a reserve while launching the expanded activities. Additionally, with media efforts and visibility, we aim to ensure the project sustains itself after the funding period.

# Surf for Good - Empowering Girls Through Education and Sport

Hey everyone!
Samira and I have been working since August 2024 on a proposal to bring technology and Web3 to a new generation. Partnering with one of the most impactful social projects in our city, we see a huge opportunity to empower girls aged 7 to 17 through innovation. **Now is the time to introduce Web3 as a tool for education, growth, and future opportunities.**

In a city where tourism thrives, but **opportunities for local youth, especially girls, are scarce**, Surf for Good try to bridge this gap. Growing from 80 to 180 students since its inception, **the project has already gained national recognition**, including a feature episode on the brazlian sports channel "Canal Off' in 2024. With plans to expand to 350 students and new program offerings, **Surf for Good is not just an initiative, but a movement empowering the next generation of leaders and change-makers.**

- **Academic Support**: Math and Portuguese lessons four days a week, reinforcing foundational education.
- **Sports and Personal Development**:
- Surfing lessons three times a week to instill discipline, resilience, and teamwork. The school has 40 "softboards" specifically for these lessons.
- Self-defense training for confidence and personal safety, ensuring young women are equipped with practical skills with confidence and security.

---
### Planned Expansion

- Creation of a dedicated **computer lab** with high-speed internet.
- Introduction to Excel, video and photo editor, and digital tools to **increase job opportunity**.

1. **Marine Studies and Professional Training**
- Collaboration with Captain Rickyday to introduce nautical training.
- Preparation for careers in marine industries, where **no professional female sailors currently exist in Búzios**.

1. **English Language Classes**
- Focused instruction to prepare students for **tourism related job opportunities and online international opportunities.**
- Increased employability in Búzios thriving international tourism sector.
2. **Psychological Support**
- **Professional guidance and counseling** to address personal challenges are vital for empowering these young women. It offers them a safe space to navigate emotions, build resilience, and develop the confidence needed to overcome obstacles and pursue their goals with determination.

**Self Defense and extra activiys area**

**Note**: These art wall are illustrative. The ideia is to enhace delivered props once the renovation is complete, **Nouns Graffiti** will contribute their expertise to design all internal and external artwork, ensuring the school embodies the nounish vibe community.
---
### Deliverables: Visibility & Nouns Impact

Base ETH or USDC -> 0x55266f24829B2FC67E13f9a37739d0f5655c0c0D

---
### What the Budget Is For
**Surf for Good is requesting funding solely for its growth and operational costs over a 7 months.** This expansion will require hiring new teachers, renovating the space to accommodate the new areas, and delivering on the commitments outlined in this proposal.

# Prop 606: Sunny in California - Propdate 2 Final
## "Teach people about Nouns, crypto & have fun”

I can guarantee we truly enjoyed the process of this prop. It was 5 months of hard work to deliver everything we promised—and more. A challenging but unforgettable journey.
Before we dive into the details, try Googling "Sunny Pires" and see Noggles everywhere - you’ll get a ideia of the impact we’ve made.

### Our goal with Prop 606

**For the community:** We were able to show how important it´s to build a prop as a community, rather than leaving it to just the proposer. The impact is much stronger.
**For the Audience:** Episodes 1, 2, and 3 focused on community engagement, so we could explore WTF Nouns is together with you guys and share it with our niche through our eyes. **We managed to tell the story in a fun and easygoing way.**
We aimed to **integrate the community** by featuring interviews with members discussing their projects, passions, and what Nouns means to them. We've talked with Coralorca, Moondog, JP, The Bower, Peter Pandam, Brett, Klim, Mari from Precious Plastic, Benbodhi, Andrea, John (nounish), Mono, and have included performances from Nouns Breakers and Joshua from Kendama.
**Nouns Town LA was a fantastic opportunity to connect with community members personally**. You can watch our coverage of the event in episodes 1 and 2. We also covered Nouns Fest and Nouns Can Dream, with fun footage in episodes 3.
Our **“Sunny Surf Experience” was unforgettable**, with great participation from the community, more people than expected, **25 new surfers**!
Thank you all, watch the full coverage in episode 3. Additionally, **music from The Park**, especially “Happy Friday,” and "The Caller" is featured in several episodes.
And special thanks to Ben Latsko who save us a big spot for our RV during the event, and Bob who let us spend the night parked at Dreamland.
### Episodes and Metrics
We hire the same guy from "Sunny in Nicaragua", Gustavo Vieira, so we could have a esquisit edit and photography that will catch the eyes while watching.

### Press Relations - 4 month focus on articles/Inteviews/Podecast

#### Understanding the numbers:
Article Views per Month
- **September** - Great interest from journalists to cover a new documentary funded by crypto, and Sunny winning the South American championship of the WSL.
- **October** - Focused on a more niche audience, interested in knowing about the daily life of the journey through media and articles.
- **November** - Little interest from journalists in creating stories until the episodes' release.
- **December** - The month with the highest reach due to the release of two episodes, accompanied by articles about the documentary that was being produced. Additionally, Sunny won the state championship of Rio de Janeiro, further boosting interest and coverage.
### The three biggest articles were from Web2 sites, some of the leading news portals in Brazil, demonstrating Web2's interest in the surf & crypto market.
- [**CNN Brazil** - Unprecedented Sponsorship Transforms Brazilian Surfer's Career](https://www.cnnbrasil.com.br/esportes/outros-esportes/patrocinio-inedito-transforma-carreira-de-surfista-brasileiro-veja-detalhes/) - September
- [**Terra** - Chance to be Seen: Sunny Pires, the Young Man Who Secured His First Surf Sponsorship](https://www.terra.com.br/esportes/surfe/chance-de-ser-visto-sunny-pires-o-jovem-que-conseguiu-seu-primeiro-patrocinio-no-surf,df050eed163ac4e478913ed9396e0ac98j8a8f7l.html) - October
- [**UOL** - Brazilian Surfer 'Lives' 24 Days in a Motorhome Chasing Waves in the USA](https://www.uol.com.br/esporte/ultimas-noticias/2024/12/05/surfista-brasileiro-motorhome-ondas-california.htm) - December
### Things that went better than expected:

- **Branded RV**: During our 24 days, we had **many people** stopping us in the street and at campgrounds, **asking about Nouns**. We had numerous opportunities to give quick presentations about Nouns to new people.
- **Recognition**: Four people recognized the Noggles on the street and stopped us. Two were non-active Nouners in Malibu, and the other two were from the web3 space and had heard of Nouns. Showed in [EP. 4](https://youtu.be/FRX1T7UXbX8?si=PVbr90HHbMUFF2dy) min 18:16
- **Surf Experience**: There were 20 available spots and a **total of 25 people came to surf**, along with companions to watch. Upon releasing the episode of the experience and the reels on Instagram, we had several people come to us wanting to understand more about how Nouns is a community and not a company, thus providing more opportunities for onboarding.
### Things that didn't go well and needed re-planning:
- **RV logistics**: Our RV, the team's sole means of transportation, caused delays. Disconnecting plumbing and electricity every morning at campgrounds and finding suitable parking spots for the RV took significant time.
- **Support car**: To improve mobility and production speed, we adjusted our budget to rent a support car for the last 12 days. This allowed us to produce materials more quickly, film in more places in a day, and easily go surfing. This improved our footage, especially external shots of the RV on the road with the car and drones.
- **Sequoia forest** - The person that we were going to interview from the enviromantel protection wasn't there as we booked previously, and no other person wanted to talk to us, so we went to the forest and did for ourselfs. The results were equally impactful.
- **Bringing viewers onchain:** We initially shared this only on web2 to gather real data. However, the strategy didn't work well. We created an NFT for each episode, and those with all the NFTs in their wallet could participate in our special merch giveaway. Links for minting and mini tutorials in English and Portuguese from Coinbase wallet were included in the YouTube video descriptions. But, few people read video descriptions, which limited the strategy's effectiveness. Nevertheless, more people than expected expressed interest in learning about web3. Hence, we returned to our main format: face-to-face onboarding and online meeting.

Nouns is changing the world. With all the props in motion, it's helping people turn their passions into reality and spreading the meme like no other DAO.
We want to thank everyone who supported our prop and helped us reach our goal! We built this together, not alone. Let’s keep the community engagement going strong!

It's exciting to see more surfers joining the Nouns community with innovative projects. IMO When evaluating proposals, I focus on two main aspects: community involvement and impact/reach.
For community involvement, while Action 1 includes talented artists and designers, involving artists from the Nouns community would make it feel more "nounish." We have many designers who deeply understand its culture to collaborate with, including Nouns Graffiti in Brazil.
For impact and reach, the proposal has several smaller actions but lacks a significant impact promise for the DAO. Key areas to address:
Documentary distribution: Specify the release platforms, their potential reach, current audience data, and scaling strategies.
Post-launch marketing: A strong plan is essential for wide reach. Since the surfing audience is largely unfamiliar with Web3, extensive PR and communication are needed to educate and connect them to Nouns culture.
Lastly, I agree with Bob that surfing and skateboarding seem like separate projects in this situation.
let's keep building!
Love seeing the impact of Nouns Amigos! In Nouns Town, I had the chance to get to know Mono and others from the community better. What they’re doing and building in Latin America is truly outstanding. I’m FOR this and would love to see the community have an even greater voice in our voting and governance.
Would love to have a vote here, the amount is high, but the impact has been proven by the team, this could reach new possibilities and new thinkers for Nouns in future. I'm FOR here.
My family has musicians, I'm musician as a hobby, and I know how this musical could be good for nouns. Go for it, hope it pass. ✌️

**PROP 512 - Sunny in Nicaragua**
We delivered our documentary in July on Woohoo's Channel, but we continue striving to grow our viewership.
We reached 4.5k views in the first two months and started working with our PR team to get Sunny featured on podcasts and interviews. This effort brought more attention to our page.
Currently, our video has reached 14k views as we continue building with prop 606.
See the full impact of bouth prop together at next 606 prodate.
Thank you, Benjamin, for giving us the opportunity to showcase our documentary during Nouns Town LA.
