I think this is a great proposal but I believe the timing is too soon. It would be great to host something in the spring which would give people sufficient time to plan their trip.
Nouns Fest had a date well in advance which allowed other groups/people to create programming/content which added to the event in a major way. Although Nouns Fest was probably an anomaly I think the gnome sculpture is iconic and I'd like to see everyone have the opportunity to contribute.
