I see something potentially cool from this, but am concerned that the DAO is not ready for it.
We could severely use better distribution for projects that we are funding in public goods that could move the flywheel and help with donations to those projects so we don't have to repeat fund at higher levels each year. Imagine a world where people with 10m+ total following are helping comarket our amazing work and generate strong network effects. Is this a prop that does that?
It does seem to me that the long-term of this proposal is hedged on Coinbase and Base willing to continue this after the year, but I have yet to seen Jesse or anyone from Coinbase discuss this in any public forum. This is concerning to me as I feel as though what we get back from CB/Base would be promotion of Nouns which is at least a tradeoff of resources. Would like to see someone vote onchain from Base team to weigh in on this.
Historically speaking, delegated nouns / given nouns don't result in better VWR. This request is asking for 5 treasury nouns. If the proposal does not pass, I will commit 5ETH to buying two additional nouns if any of the partners involved want to get active on VWR. If they can keep a 50%+ participation after 3 months, I will let them keep the nouns.
This is 15% of our 1Y inflow projections. Are we at a point where we are ready to utilize this type of media or do we still need to figure out the long term Nouns flywheel marketing strategy first?
