Klim proliferated nouns to the normal world more than anyone that I know and has helped so many nouners understand the basics of how to build a brand.
With how many physical spaces we've funded across the world and good faith we've built with existing establishments, it shouldn't be too hard to secure display space if the prop passes and products start being built.
My only recommendation is for the DAO to stop thinking about royalties onchain being important. I would rather transparency and education of how the journey of scaling a brand be public with that same royalty being applied to creator grants with the new materials being CC0.

Budgets seems reasonable.
I think of Nouns after almost 2 years as a third space for onchain builders and creatives. When you find it, it's hard to let it go. If this passes, I think it's important that Nouns members show up to the event and participate in helping people understand the magic of Nouns and why they should become contributors in the future.
Changing delegations and going from candidate directly into proposal on a new submission does not resolve my questions.
1. Operation costs are 40% of the current budget compared to 29% of last year with a much smaller budget. What makes it different in 2025 that this team is going to be able to grow to 100k+ subscribers as I see 5.7k subs from a 1.8m budget in 2024. I'd like to know more specifically which of the team members has a track record of growing accounts and previous campaigns they've done before thinking that this is money well spent. Between 30k for a publicist and social media manager and a portion of exec producer fees going into promotion from 2024, feels like a route to overpromising and underdelivering.
2. I went to Nouns Fest and enjoyed the event, but I also want to know what you're going to do to increase the diversity of submissions. I know that stoopid buddy studios focuses on stop motion, but for these levels of budgets, there should be an increased focus on spreading wide and including more college programs instead of friends of the proposers.
3. There are videos on the homepage of nounsfest.tv that currently say "no views" which means that not even the animation team promoted the video while unlisted on the youtube channel. What is the active approach to bring the submission teams to help with growth of this channel?
4. Additional question based on Nouncil from yesterday. Why are the salaries not on a stream and a flat payment?
This is 20% of our 1Y inflow projections which means that we have the ability to fund 5-10 amazing proposals per year that move the flywheel forward as a DAO.
We've funded quite a bit of podcasts and media for onchain content, 5e seems a bit high but think it's fine to double down on this initiative.
Overall love the way that Prof has proliferated Nouns and want to keep supporting her.
I'd like to see us set up a time for nouners who aren't at FarHack to collaborate on voting together and look through the builder projects together. Maybe we could turn that into a video as an artifact.

I see something potentially cool from this, but am concerned that the DAO is not ready for it.
We could severely use better distribution for projects that we are funding in public goods that could move the flywheel and help with donations to those projects so we don't have to repeat fund at higher levels each year. Imagine a world where people with 10m+ total following are helping comarket our amazing work and generate strong network effects. Is this a prop that does that?
It does seem to me that the long-term of this proposal is hedged on Coinbase and Base willing to continue this after the year, but I have yet to seen Jesse or anyone from Coinbase discuss this in any public forum. This is concerning to me as I feel as though what we get back from CB/Base would be promotion of Nouns which is at least a tradeoff of resources. Would like to see someone vote onchain from Base team to weigh in on this.
Historically speaking, delegated nouns / given nouns don't result in better VWR. This request is asking for 5 treasury nouns. If the proposal does not pass, I will commit 5ETH to buying two additional nouns if any of the partners involved want to get active on VWR. If they can keep a 50%+ participation after 3 months, I will let them keep the nouns.
This is 15% of our 1Y inflow projections. Are we at a point where we are ready to utilize this type of media or do we still need to figure out the long term Nouns flywheel marketing strategy first?

I've had this idea of doing BTS content for all Nouns projects by just having a specific prop OR maybe using flows.wtf to test out incubating a group of tiktok creators. The journey of how nounish projects are made is just as important as the end content for new contributors imo.
I would recommend Supriyo and Atrium offering up maybe 30 minute slots with some of the crew for an established creator to tell that story through short form. Happy to support here if there's interest!
Lastly, reiterating on the full movie being needed to pursue licensing. I had early convos with a few streaming platforms about the Nouns Movie and the biggest feedback was that the runtime was too short to license and that because it's a first time IP, most networks would want to see the finished film before moving forward with discussions. I'm also happy to see that Atrium is funding the final chapter and completion themselves.

Klim is not the best at accounting, he's not the best at organizing this thoughts, but he is one of the best proliferators for Nouns that I've met.
One of my first times talking to Klim, I asked him how he keeps such a large quantity of noggles available for people as hundreds of boxes of product costs a lot of money to store. He told me that he was taking the cost of it from his own pocket as Nouns had funded the development of these noggles, but did not distribute at the same speed that the nouns community had pushed for during the proposal. He said it sucked he was taking it out of his own pocket (even offering them for free + shipping to members this year to try and reduce stock) but was willing to do it so that they could keep being available for others.
We love having noggles at events and I think that the retro for the warehousing makes complete sense. I think that treasury nouns (if and when given out) should always go to people who have proven their commitment to the nouns community.
I won't speak on the other $60,000 in this request with my bias, but I would suggest thinking of this prop as "Did we like Klim the last two years? Would we want him to continue to do this for another two years at around $30,000 of cost"
I find the KYC and AML concepts hilarious to be honest. Every single protocol who provides grants requires you to KYC (Are you going to call Ethereum Foundation centralized to their face?) and this same community harped on the most ridiculous questions when we brought Princess Sarah into Nouncil that makes me believe no one here actually understands why AML policies are in place.
My biggest problem with showcasing Nouns to a greater network is because this community can barely stay organized without a “paid what I deserve” to do it. If the money was gone, would they still be around or would they just move onto another community that has a fairly simple grants system to take money from? I would take some time to talk with David Horvath or myself about how difficult it has been to bring Nouns into the mainstream when we have to spend 2+ meetings explaining what Nouns even is and then explain “oh we have no structure, we’re a dao”.
I am new to Nouns, that’s true, but the nouns community that came before me was the same group that allowed millions of dollars to be distributed with little to no due diligence.
DUNA is a step forward and I’m here for it. We as a community should be making it as simple for future nouns contributors to thrive. Think about the longterm benefits and our goal to build a billion dollar public goods brand out of a CC0 community.
## The last update from Coral and Sharon for the first stage of the Nouns Shelter project
Hello everyone! It's Nouns Shelter! We are excited to share our last update!
After 6 months, we have finally completed the first phase of Nouns Shelter!
After we finished the Mini Shelter Movement in 3 cities, we launched the TNR program in Beijing in April. We worked with local pet hospitals and volunteers and completed the sterilization operations on 100 stray cats and dogs in 2 months, including cats living in our mini shelter.
Zhongfen, a former stray cat at Nouns Shelter Shanghai, faced kidney failure this spring. One of our volunteers sent her to the veterinary clinic, but due to the steep medical costs, we decided to cover half the expenses. Thankfully, Zhongfen was discharged from the clinic this Wednesday, and now she continues to recover under foster care. Let's all support her recovery journey!
We are contacting local animal organizations and animal lovers in Southeast Asia and Europe to learn about local stray animal information. This will provide us with a lot of support in the second phase. We have already had in-depth conversations with partners in Vietnam, the Philippines, Ukraine, and Spain.

Second update from Coral
Hello everyone! It's Nouns Shelter! We are excited to share our second update!
We donated 2000 kg of dog food and 150 cans of wet food for “与人玫瑰小院” helping 200 stray dogs and 20 older cats in Beijing before the Chinese New Year. We also held an event for people who volunteered to help through the year with mini shelter maintenance on Feb 2, having Nouns being introduced by them at event, and we had the chance to communicate with people there about our long term goals and mission.
We upgraded the cat house so that the roof can be opened. This makes it easier for the cat to escape and for volunteers to be on hand to clean up the inside.
After Chinese New Year, we built a relationship with the city of Changsha's largest animal rescue organization “Changsha Adoption Day” and collaborated with them to distribute 210 Nouns Mini Shelter and 420kg of cat food to help local homeless cats.
We hosted our third event in Changsha on March 16th and 17th in a Changsha city mall. There were 100 volunteers from different industries who joined our event and had a chance to get to know each other. The most exciting thing was we had one mini shelter distributed at a middle school in Changsha by their teacher and students.
We started to explore web3 technology during ETHDenver and set up a zora mint for ‘mini shelter movement’ and got 10 mints in support of this trial run. We put their wallet names on our mini shelters and even had volunteers buy CCTV cameras for the shelters.

We are now working with Beijing Adoption Day on the ‘TNR’ program (Trap-Neuter-Return). We will do Neutering for 100 homeless cats and dogs especially for cats living in our mini shelters from April to May.
Lastly, we are producing a recap video now, which will hopefully launch next week!
Appreciate the feedback everyone! I've had a chat with Rachel and will be letting this proposal run for the last day to get any last feedback and then plan for a rework in collaboration with Xargs + NounsDAO Africa for a future proposal.
Takeaways:
- Media should be more authentic and less transactional
- Really happy to see people who have supported Rachel including Nouns Square community, Nouncil, Xargs, Brennen, and others guiding her on what are next steps after this initial version of the prop. This is really important for new members so that members stay active in the community so I'm thankful that she's experiencing the same treatment that I got when I first joined.
- Onboarding new members can be challenging, but overall worth it as I'm excited to see Rachel join one of the more tenured communities and love the passion she has for public goods
- A future proposal should likely include a plan for continued support with or without nouns funding for maintenance of wells. This was a really good lesson learned from the conversations with Hindo, Sarah, and Rachel.

Hello Nouns family! So happy to share our first Nouns Shelter (Proposal 462) progress here! We made corrections prior to execution based on Nouns community feedback that I will go through below.
1. We changed planned spending based on feedback to put more resources to encourage mini shelter usage and tied pet food donations to shelter distribution. We produced 220 mini shelters and matched 2000 kg of cat food with mini shelters.
2. We collaborated with the largest animal rescue organization in Shanghai and Beijing to execute the project and have permanent displays in both Joy City Mall in Shanghai and 康信天力动物医院 in Beijing.
3. We changed the designs of the minishelters prior to production based on our shift to Shanghai and Beijing and redesigned a second shelter to meet the needs of different climates between the cities. Our shelters are produced for durability, increased size (These now fit 3-5 strays per shelter!), utilizing primarily recycled materials, and we are very thankful that some of our early volunteers who supported us with their engineering skills to help make sure that these shelters would be able to last for multiple years. Based on the comments from the proposal during voting phase, we reached out to ccarella and others who provided feedback after our proposal passed and have received positive feedback from volunteers for the quality of shelters compared to commercial options available.
4, We set up applications for our Nouns Mini Shelter events to be able to track each shelter individually through volunteers and tied the distribution of food to each of the volunteers of the shelters. All of the members in our chat group give us feedback about mini shelters and the stray cats that lived inside. (Fun fact: we just had our first weasel enter a shelter this weekend also)
5. We hosted the first event in Shanghai on Jan 20th-21th, distributing 100 Mini Shelters and 100 bags of cat food to 100+ volunteers.
5. We hosted the second event in Beijing on Jan 28th in an animal hospital in Chaoyang District, distributing 100 Mini Shelters and 100 bags of cat food to 50+ volunteers. Having the volunteers build their own shelter and tag their shelter with their designated number also allowed us to educate volunteers on best practices for animal awareness. I am extremely thankful for this group of volunteers for sticking it out in the -8c weather to make this happen.
6, We built Twitter, Instagram for our global audience, Little Red and Weibo for Chinese audiences. We posted the feedback from our volunteers on our social media account every week. We are planning to scale these up with produced content as our team did not expect the amount of coordination work associated with running these programs remotely. You should start seeing updates right around the time of Chinese New Year with higher quality updates.

7. We are preparing a donation event for 200 stray dogs in Beijing this weekend starting with a 2,000kg donation from Nouns Shelter along with wet food donations for the cats in this specific event.

Nouns Shelter is a temporary name and we are currently working on updating this to something that can be turned into a media brand name

Proliferating Nouns through animal shelter awareness, adoption campaigns, and supporting shelter homes.
## Introduction
My name is [Coral Ding](https://warpcast.com/dingshanshan123) and I'm creating a media brand focusing on spreading awareness of animal welfare opportunities with Sharon Liu and Kiki Zhang. We are interested in proliferating the Nouns brand through public goods in China by working directly with established shelter stations in Beijing this winter while growing an authentic media presence focused on helping rescue animals in need.
I've been exploring the world of Web3 for the past few years on and off and meeting the Nouns team at The International this year in Seattle was the first time I've felt such a profound meaning towards public goods. I am so thankful for projects like Nouns Esports, Mucho Love, and the rest of the community for building a community that has motivated me to explore how I could provide value back to the community too.
## Background
With the global economy dwindling, support for stray animals which is primarily donation based has gone to an all time low in the past decade and China has started to take a [strict approach towards strays by euthenizing](https://au.lifestyle.yahoo.com/chinese-authorities-crack-down-stray-020658031.html?guccounter=1) instead of rehoming shelter animals as the winter season approaches.
Across all social media, distressing posts have surfaced pleading for assistance for abandoned stray animals due to lack of medical care and adoption prospects. I had the opportunity to meet one of the heroes focusing on rescuing and sheltering these strays named Qiuqiu, a tireless volunteer who has selflessly dedicated herself to rescuing and sheltering over 200 dogs and 100 cats in Beijing, China. Admist shifting policies and market challenges, she has been able to rent six different locations to provide these animals refuge, but as winter approaches, urgent help is needed to sustain their care. Qiuqiu's shelters are struggling to cope with the increasing demands for warmth, food, medical care, and volunteer support.
## Our Goal
Our goal is to establish the foundation for a Nouns media brand that is focused on supporting animal welfare and sharing the stories of animal rescue volunteers to the global audience.
## Our Plan
We would like to begin our plans through working with established partners to host a charity event, focusing on phased releases of Nouns mini shelter homes, providing pet food through the winter, and a creation of consistent media showcasing our partners and the loving pets of their communities.
The proposed event would take place from **January 1, 2024 through March 15, 2024** and will focus on two primary intiatives:
* **Food Donations in the name of Nouns Community**
* Purchasing dog and cat food under the Nouns brand and donating it directly to Qiuqiu's stray animal shelter.
* The donated food will be instrumental in sustaining the 300+ dogs and cats currently being sheltered by Qiuqiu, as well as aiding in the ongoing rescue efforts to save as many strays through the winter as possible.
* **Nouns Mini Shelter Production & Distribution**
* Collaborating with Qiuqiu's Shelter to manufacture and distribute 300+ Nouns Mini Shelters to locations in need across Beijing.
* These shelters aim to provide safe refuge for at least 1500+ stray animals, ensuring their protection from the harsh subzero winter weather.
## What are Nouns Mini Shelters?
Nouns Mini Shelters are permanent insulated shelters built for helping stray animals stay warm through the winter weather of Northern China. Our Nouns Mini Shelters have gone through four iterations of development and utilize PVC insulation film and tin foil insulated cotton to maintain structural integrity through the weight of winter snow and each comes equipped with blankets inside to house up to 4-6 animals each.
Based on previous years, these mini shelters have a 60% retention rate through each winter and can be reutilized the following year. Human theft is the highest cause of loss of these shelters and we will be choosing rural locations with a high density of stray animals to reduce the loss of these shelters.

## Introduction
My name is [Coral Ding](https://warpcast.com/dingshanshan123) and I'm creating a media brand focusing on spreading awareness of animal welfare opportunities with Sharon Liu and Kiki Zhang. We are interested in proliferating the Nouns brand through public goods in China by working directly with established shelter stations in Beijing this winter while growing an authentic media presence focused on helping rescue animals in need.
I've been exploring the world of Web3 for the past few years on and off and meeting the Nouns team at The International this year in Seattle was the first time I've felt such a profound meaning towards public goods. I am so thankful for projects like Nouns Esports, Mucho Love, and the rest of the community for building a community that has motivated me to explore how I could provide value back to the community too.
## Background
With the global economy dwindling, support for stray animals which is primarily donation based has gone to an all time low in the past decade and China has started to take a [strict approach towards strays by euthenizing](https://au.lifestyle.yahoo.com/chinese-authorities-crack-down-stray-020658031.html?guccounter=1) instead of rehoming shelter animals as the winter season approaches.
Across all social media, distressing posts have surfaced pleading for assistance for abandoned stray animals due to lack of medical care and adoption prospects. I had the opportunity to meet one of the heroes focusing on rescuing and sheltering these strays named Qiuqiu, a tireless volunteer who has selflessly dedicated herself to rescuing and sheltering over 200 dogs and 100 cats in Beijing, China. Admist shifting policies and market challenges, she has been able to rent six different locations to provide these animals refuge, but as winter approaches, urgent help is needed to sustain their care. Qiuqiu's shelters are struggling to cope with the increasing demands for warmth, food, medical care, and volunteer support.
## Our Goal
Our goal is to establish the foundation for a Nouns media brand that is focused on supporting animal welfare and sharing the stories of animal rescue volunteers to the global audience.
## Our Plan
We would like to begin our plans through working with established partners to host a charity event, focusing on phased releases of Nouns mini shelter homes, providing pet food through the winter, and a creation of consistent media showcasing our partners and the loving pets of their communities.
The proposed event would take place from **January 1, 2024 through March 15, 2024** and will focus on two primary intiatives:
* **Food Donations in the name of Nouns Community**
* Purchasing dog and cat food under the Nouns brand and donating it directly to Qiuqiu's stray animal shelter.
* The donated food will be instrumental in sustaining the 300+ dogs and cats currently being sheltered by Qiuqiu, as well as aiding in the ongoing rescue efforts to save as many strays through the winter as possible.
* **Nouns Mini Shelter Production & Distribution**
* Collaborating with Qiuqiu's Shelter to manufacture and distribute 300+ Nouns Mini Shelters to locations in need across Beijing.
* These shelters aim to provide safe refuge for at least 1500+ stray animals, ensuring their protection from the harsh subzero winter weather.
## What are Nouns Mini Shelters?
Nouns Mini Shelters are permanent insulated shelters built for helping stray animals stay warm through the winter weather of Northern China. Our Nouns Mini Shelters have gone through four iterations of development and utilize PVC insulation film and tin foil insulated cotton to maintain structural integrity through the weight of winter snow and each comes equipped with blankets inside to house up to 4-6 animals each.
Based on previous years, these mini shelters have a 60% retention rate through each winter and can be reutilized the following year. Human theft is the highest cause of loss of these shelters and we will be choosing rural locations with a high density of stray animals to reduce the loss of these shelters.
