# Refund an additional expenses for prop 173 Sail Nouns

## Description
When preparing for Prop-173 Sail Nouns NFT.NYC, I had a formal agreement for $2.5k with a local drone operator to shoot throughout the day in the harbor. On the other hand, I did not want to have any surplus and used all additional funds from the media budget, as well as unexpected expenses, to purchase the best sails, commission artworks for sails/merch, and order extra merchandise such as flags. However, a week before the event, when all the money had already been spent, the drone operator notified me that he was unable to obtain a permit to fly a drone in the area. Even though all the money had already been spent, I decided to rent two helicopter rides and additional camera crew to capture aerial photos and videos.
After the event, I believed that a retro fund proposal would bring additional problems when some DAO members were still hopeful to avoid a fork. So, my plan was to cover the extra expenses myself or include it into a new sailing project. The continuation of the sailing project was planned from the beginning and it was another reason why I bought expensive racing sails for prop173. However, upon returning home, I had to address unexpected issues and missed the opportunity to submit a new sailing proposal.
- The budget for prop 173 had a room for experimentation
- When working with community on sail designs we ended up with more expensive colorful designs and over budget of $15k.
- Other extra expenses included charter for a big boat and additional merch such as flags.
- Everything was fine because the drone operator asked for $2.5k for a day and I was able to use some of the money from media production to cover over expenditure.
- However, one week before NFT.NYC, the drone operator notified me that he is unable to get permission to fly a drone in the area due to helicopter traffic.
- Also, extra money was spent to commission 7 artworks for the mainsail.
- At first, mainsail designs were simple, but they ended up being color-printed cut insignias. The budget for sails only increased by $15k.
- The designs for spinnakers sails at first was just noggles then we added features to make a whole sail a noun which also increased cost of painting the spinnaker artworks.
- Additional artwork was commissioned for T-shirts and pins
- Noun burgee flags were ordered and distributed throughout the year 2023.
