I'm unsure whether the prop is too broad - may make it hard for community members to provide input as it's being carried out, and also to digest findings and outputs once it's carried out. (I feel this especially with the Governance Operating Model bit).
Having said that, I do think there's real value in clarifying the mission/values, and this seems like a good way to get it done. While there's risk that the Governance Operating Model / DAO best practices could be a bit broad in scope, I think research and work done (especially in the open manner that the team is proposing) would make for a useful artefact for Purple and other DAOs. Also keen for community to contribute to/ have access to that 'list of ideas'.
I was initially reluctant to vote 'for' - instead keen to pursue things like retroactive grants with our budget (lots of good submissions in the recent Prop House!), but I think that this prop would give us some meaningful direction and tools to reduce friction in submitting and voting on ideas, and give people new to Purple some important context on what we'd like to see/fund (huge pain point).
Keen to help the team / contribute where I can too.
reasonable ask for a big conference; irl meetups seem to have worked well for proliferating FC; cosponsors also instil confidence (shoutout orangedao and discove!)
Gaming's a completely new audience. Great to bring in more of this (and other subcultures) to FC.
Maybe we could have parts of this app open-sourced for other communities to experiment with?
I do wonder if longer term a Dev in Residence makes sense vs funding via regular Prop House rounds, but I think for now the Juicebox ragequit option + highly requested features that'll be worked on sway me towards voting yes.
I'm viewing this proposal as building some solid features that make it more accessible for other devs to come in and propose smaller, discrete projects in Prop House rounds.
