I appreciate the time and energy that went into this proposal. However, I am voting **AGAINST** at this time.
Put simply: I don't think we need it.
I take a long-term view of Purple. We are well positioned to become an extremely influential organization within the Farcaster ecosystem. If the protocol is successful, Purple will be responsible for distributing hundreds of millions of dollars to a globally distributed community of developers.
Our main benefit as an organization is clear incentive alignment and a transparent onchain structure. This has allowed us to attract a significant portion of Farcaster's early users and self-fund a treasury for redistribution within the ecosystem.
We should be *very* wary of anything that adds complexity, especially if its an elective decision and not required to continue executing on our mission. This proposal will introduce costs, ongoing administrative duties, and implicit centralizing effects on the DAO through the creation of a separate and distinct entity from the onchain treasury.
As one of the first fully onchain organizations, we need to run the idea maze without the help of successful precedents. Rather than rushing into a hard-to-reverse decision, I believe it is in our best interests to wait for additional clarity from the United States instead of settling for a nebulous corporate entity in the Marshall Islands.
