Memo 0x92f37e2d…1aa6b5 on Ethereum

Formatted version: https://gna.rs/gami-prop12 I'm a HUGE fan of Will, evident through my ongoing support of his work, but after much deliberation I've decided to vote against, because I'd love to see: - Better alignment with Proposal 382 where we received a further 300k USDC funding from Nouns which makes up over 90% of our treasury - Supporting information to demonstrate the success of Proposal 29 and some reflection on insights gained from the work involved - Request for USDC since only 10% of our treasury is ETH and treasury exposure to upside during bull market is preferred - Reasoning for substantial increase. Since previous 3 ETH @ 1200 USD for 6 months = $600/month, while this 4 ETH @ 2000 USD for 4 months = $2000/month, which is a 234% increase. - Project based proposals so it's easier to make decisions. Bundling for individuals makes sense, and I'm aware work went into the shredder's journey, but I feel the % scale is arbitrary and doesn't allow for voters to judge the merits of proposers individually. My reasoning is by no means a reflection on Will, his talents, or his passion for Gnars, for which I am eternally grateful. It mostly comes down to the fact that 90% of our treasury was received based on the assumption that we would strive towards a commons goal. Yes, this proposal makes up an important part of that goal, through ambassadorship and the inspiring of others. But I'd like to quickly point out some napkin math: - We have $300k USDC in our treasury from Prop 382 - Prop 382 assigned $30k USDC to ambassadors/shredders - We have $30k of our own ETH revenue in our treasury - Therefore about $60k available to this kind of prop - Shredder's journey 2.5% actually = $1500 Of course Will deserves more than $1500 for his described efforts, but this is why the shredder's journey 2.5% seems arbitrary – it shouldn't be calculated on the entire treasury, only our earnings (Nouns grants are not earnings). My suggestion is to think about how Will's artistic flair can be applied to the delivery of public goods that uplift his São Paulo community. While "Bring a million shredders onchain" spoke mostly to skatepark refurbishments, the real theme was revitalisation, in general. So what if we did something like a coordinated effort to get the skateboarding essentials to those in need in our own local communities. Those involved being paid fairly for their creativity, influence, and efforts to deliver towards a common goal – empowering shredders upfront, with public good, and their longterm empowerment through being brought onchain, to the new creator economy. We just need to be careful not to set the wrong precedent, especially while we're not attracting many new auction bidders, and it's important I take this opportunity to be staunch on my beliefs – we've learned so much since Proposal 51 and I wanna ensure we apply those learnings as best we can. Thank you so much to Will for taking the time to craft and submit this proposal. I implore you to make some adjustments and resubmit. Please don't receive this against vote as a signal of disbelief in you or what you bring to the project. I'm one of your biggest fans!
