Nouncil has voted in overwhelming support of sponsoring the Onchain Summer Buildathon, recognizing it as an excellent opportunity. Voters appreciate the potential for positive, non-financial applications and commend the leadership of the Base team. Despite some concerns about centralization and the specifics of deliverables, the majority believe this is a positive proposal.

i'm also a bit hesitant about Base. Jesse, Brian Armstrong and the Base team give great vibes, the grants for builders are awesome. As much as I think Brian operates from a place of seeking individual liberty and securing the right to transact freely, have deep respect for him leading the charge of making the workplace an apolitical mission-focused space, and appreciate a16z's support for him/ those principles, I do worry about the centralization of the blockchain based internet on an L2 which is a revenue driver for a publicly traded company subject to regulatory scrutiny

deliverables are weak for the ask. who is running workshops? who is the judge? this prop needs more people listed as involved imo.
