# A Growth-Earmarked Treasury Strategy for Compound
**This proposal is a follow-up on the Snapshot proposal** [**A Growth-Earmarked Treasury Strategy for Compound**](https://snapshot.box/#/s:comp-vote.eth/proposal/0x8a022d6b7e3db97c9a0711a64fd4768ed4440ed2503aaa9c253edb4d87a6e56a) **that was approved by the Compound DAO on the 28th of March.**
Since then, Avantgarde has:
* Set up a 2/4 [Manager safe](https://app.safe.global/home?safe=eth:0x4db79ac03f167F1F0377eD5a8909bFe29D49cf9e) with Avantgarde, MYSO and the Compound Governance Working Group (PGov and Arana) as the signers.
* Created a [Compound Avatar safe](https://app.safe.global/home?safe=eth:0xeB6332bbB14b1488eFb3A395B8EBF6a6904C4241) and enabled the module to execute trades using the Zodiac roles contract (which allows Manager safe to execute trades in a permissioned manner).
* Created permission for Deposit/Withdraw USDC on Compound v3 and TakeQuote/Withdraw COMP on MYSO. These permissions payloads have been executed on the Compound Avatar safe.
* Fully tested the above permissions on a test Avatar safe before deploying them on the Compound Avatar safe.
* Had OpenZeppelin review and approve the setup.
* Transferred ownership of the Compound Avatar safe to the [Compound Timelock contract](https://etherscan.io/address/0x6d903f6003cca6255D85CcA4D3B5E5146dC33925) (as per OZ's advice).
The passing of this on-chain proposal will transfer the $1.5m (35,200 COMP as of April 27) to the [Avatar safe](https://app.safe.global/settings/setup?safe=eth:0xeB6332bbB14b1488eFb3A395B8EBF6a6904C4241), owned by the Compound Timelock contract and managed by a 2/4 Manager safe held by Avantgarde & MYSO (+ PGov, Arana), to allow the strategy to be executed.
# TL;DR
This proposal presents a treasury strategy to complement Gauntlet’s reserve management, with the aim of improving capital efficiency and revenue on idle treasury assets to support the DAO’s capacity to fund growth initiatives and improve financial sustainability. The strategy has three parts:
1. **COMP Yield Strategy**: Use COMP to generate USDC yield. This strategy maintains COMP exposure whilst making opportunistic sales possible at higher prices. In the meantime, it targets to deliver 15% or more annualised net USDC-denominated yield on COMP tokens.
2. **Deposit USDC into Compound for cUSDC**: Deploy USDC proceeds and potential COMP conversions into Compound lending markets, earning additional yield via Compound-deposited cTokens.
3. **cUSDC & Yield-Generating Buybacks**: Use yield-generating cUSDC as the underlying for put options to earn yield on yield while buying back COMP at favourable key levels.
As each COMP -> cUSDC -> COMP cycle completes, the strategy can be continuously rolled over to keep generating yield for the DAO.
## **Outcomes:**
* Earn USDC-denominated yield on COMP (targeting 15% APY).
* Earn yield on cUSDC proceeds deposited into Compound.
* Earn yield on yield while buying back COMP at key levels.
* Enhance capital efficiency and financial sustainability.
* Stimulate trading volume and market liquidity.
## **Ask:**
35,200 COMP (≈$1.5m as of April 27h) to execute on the outlined strategy.
## Compensation:
15% on premiums.
## **Updates to the Proposal since V1**
Based on feedback, a number of changes have been made to the proposal since first draft:
**Lowered COMP amount**:
* Ask lowered from $5m to $1.5m as a first pilot.
**Focusing Exclusively on the COMP Covered Call Strategy**:
* Citing Gauntlet’s concern over working ETH capital, we have removed the ETH strategy and are focusing exclusively on the COMP strategy.
**Deploy Converted Stablecoins to Support Compound’s Liquidity**:
* Using external lending markets may generate higher yields, but the most value-aligned way to deploy stablecoin proceeds is within Compound’s own lending markets to support liquidity supply and foster borrowing activity on COMP.
**Using Yield-Bearing cUSDC for Strategic Buybacks:**
* Stablecoin proceeds from the options strategy will be used to buyback COMP price at key levels through cash-secured puts using Compound-deposited, yield-generating cUDSC, as deemed appropriate pending market conditions.
* If a COMP conversion (despite keeping probability reasonably low) occurs from the options strategy, we deposit the USDC into Compound and use the yield-bearing cUSDC as collateral to write put options—earning yield on yield while converting USDC back into COMP at favorable prices—eliminating any potential strategic overlap related to USDC accumulation.
* To optimize execution, we will use technical market signals to help identify and trigger buyback opportunities systematically, see below for further elaboration.
* The bought-back COMP can then be used to rerun the covered call strategy, continuing the yield generation cycle for the Compound DAO.

I really like the idea of Nouns being exposed outside of crypto. I've heard some doubt that exposure to outside people can convert the layman to onchain. A big reason for this is the exposure with Budweiser. If Joe Normal doesn't dive deeper with his brewski, why would Joe Basketball? But at the same time, I want to hope that more exposure, more repetition will bring people in. Admittedly part of that hope comes from the esports side.

The Nounsvitational has officially come to a close, marking the conclusion of Proposal 534.
This proposal aimed to host three incredible events, and we are proud to say it has been a resounding success. Through these events, Nouns made a remarkable entry into the Smash Community, leaving a lasting impression by presenting three distinct styles of competition, each executed with great success.
**Tipped Off:** An open-bracket tournament that welcomed participants of all skill levels.
**Nounsfest Showcase:** A thrilling exhibition featuring six highly entertaining showmatches.
**Nounsvitational:** A prestigious year-end invitational that introduced new storylines, crowned a new champion, and delivered an unforgettable experience for attendees and viewers alike.
For details about the first two events, please refer to previous propdates. This update focuses on the Nounsvitational.
### **Marketing Campaign & Leadup to the Event:**
**1. Trailer Announcement**
The trailer debuted during Nounsfest, capturing the attention of fans and kicking off the promotional campaign with a bang.
**2. Compendium Application Phase**
The Compendium was a feature hosted on the event website, enabling users to support their favorite players by purchasing merchandise or donating directly. These contributions earned users points, which they could use to vote for their preferred competitors.
A memorable moment during this phase involved Bekvin, the first player to be voted into the event. In a dramatic twist, Bekvin donated $1,000 just one minute before voting closed on October 25th, overtaking Aklo to claim the top spot.
**3. Nouns GG Round Applications**
This phase added two more players to the event through a fan-voted selection process. With significant participation, fans cast their votes to invite Joshman and Agent to the Nounsvitational. This round became our second-most popular, surpassed only by the round conducted during the event itself, with 834 participants casting 2,478 votes.

**4. Matcha Cup Last Chance Qualifier**
This final qualifying event provided players with one last opportunity to secure a spot in the Nounsvitational, adding excitement and drama to the lead-up.
**5. Nouns GG Round Selection**
The final round, held in the lead-up to and during the event, was a standout success. This round determined one player to join Nouns Esports in 2025, offering $10,000 in travel support for the winner.
This round became our most popular ever, attracting over 1,151 participants who cast an impressive 3,273 votes. Ultimately, Nicki, the only European player, claimed victory with remarkable dedication to his campaign. He actively engaged his audience, teaching them how to maximize their voting impact through Nouns.GG quests. These quests not only allowed participants to earn additional experience points but also helped them rank up their accounts, enhancing their overall participation.

### The Event

The event sold out its tickets and welcomed approximately 150 attendees over its two-day duration. Given the venue's limited capacity, our goal was always to provide an exclusive and premium experience for those who purchased tickets.

The Nounsvitational has firmly established itself as one of the year’s most prestigious events. Jmook, a top player who had been facing challenges throughout the season, claimed the championship—an achievement that will undoubtedly bolster his position in the soon-to-be-released annual rankings. Conversely, Amsa, Japan’s top player, faced difficulties during the event, which may lead to a decline in his overall ranking. The two-day format featured high-level matchups across every game, providing an exceptional experience for spectators both in person and online.
## **Event Statistics**

setApprovalForAll(address,bool)deposit(uint256[])transfer(address,uint256)_setMinQuorumVotesBPS(uint16)_setMaxQuorumVotesBPS(uint16)setApprovalForAll(address,bool)# Scaling Nouns with $nouns

**TLDR**
- We want to make $nouns the central currency of [nouns.gg](https://nouns.gg), lack of liquidity is the biggest blocker to doing so
- We are requesting 30 Nouns + 75 ETH to provide liquidity to the Base pool
- With stronger liquidity, $nouns can evolve into a powerful economic engine, driving growth and collaboration across all Nouns subcommunities
# The Goal
Going into 2025, a core focus for nouns.gg is creating experiences that let users transact onchain. This includes minting, trading collectables, earning rewards, and redeeming items from our shop, each being built on top of a central "in-game" currency.
We've explored a few different models that achieve this including Warpcast Warps, Zora Sparks, USDC, and $nouns.
**We believe the most aligned path forward is with $nouns**
# The Problem
However, out of these four models $nouns is objectively the most difficult to implement. Aside from lack of tooling / onboarding infrastructure, one roadblock stands out the most.
**Lack of liquidity.**
As of December 18th, the [NOUNS/ETH](https://app.uniswap.org/explore/pools/base/0x338f3E577312F90A74754dddd0D7568C2c3DC211) pool on Base consists of a whopping $3.6k TVL, a number so low that no amount of ETH could even acquire you a full Noun. This is a horrible experience for both users and developers looking to build on top of the token.
The token was [deployed over six months ago](https://warpcast.com/krel/0x54ad6774) and it's becoming increasingly clear that it will likely never find success unless the DAO decides to back it with the treasury. After all, if we're not going to support it, why would we expect anyone else to?
# The Solution
We are requesting **30 Nouns + 75 ETH** to provide full range liquidity to the 0.3% Uniswap pool on Base. This ratio values each Noun at a price of 2.5 ETH, a fair value based on recent auction and secondary sales. With over 500 Nouns sitting dormant in the treasury, moving roughly 5% of that feels conservative.
*We are currently retaining advisory from Fidelity Digital Assets for management of the liquidity position.*
The liquidity position will be managed by **nounsesports.eth** which is controlled by [Sasquatch](https://warpcast.com/sasquatch), [Peter](https://warpcast.com/peterpandam), [Sam](https://warpcast.com/sams), [Pat](https://warpcast.com/patyiutazza), [Oni](https://warpcast.com/oni), [Brennen](https://warpcast.com/brennen.eth), and [Maty](https://warpcast.com/maty). While we will maintain ownership of the liquidity position, **any fees earned will not be withdrawn unless explicit approval from the DAO** in a future proposal.
*An extra 1 ETH was added to cover any gas fees associated with the execution of this proposal. Excess will be returned to the treasury upon completion.*
### Addressing Dynamic Quorum Concerns
An unfortunate side effect caused by the way $nouns was designed is that Nouns stored in the contract are not factored into the **adjustedTotalSupply** calculation for dynamic quorum. To address this, we are dropping the **maxQuorumVotesBPS** from 15% to 14.25% and the **minQuorumVotesBPS** from 10% to 9.5%. This will bring the quorum to roughly the same number it would have been if the locked Nouns were factored into the equation.
# Scaling $nouns beyond Nouns GG
We believe in a vision of Nouns centered around $nouns where the token becomes an access point for anyone to participate. An economy around $nouns is a potential way to scale Nouns to millions of community members. There's a huge opportunity here to make $nouns the center of every subcommunity within Nouns, we just have to embrace it.scaling-nouns-with-$nouns1. Fix markdown errors

1. Focus on hosting unique, impactful events that showcase the Nouns community.

3. Boost engagement, revenue, and charitable impact by positioning Nouns GG as a positive force in esports.

# Our Mission: Bringing Nouns to the Heart of Gaming Culture
Our mission is two-fold: **make Nouns relevant in popular culture** and **onboard a new generation to blockchain**. In today's day and age many see gaming as more than just a hobby. It’s a cornerstone of their lives. To effectively reach these individuals and inspire them to explore new ideas, we need to be fully present in these spaces, with a compelling brand that speaks to them directly.
To engage, educate, and inspire this audience, we’ve built Nouns Esports as a platform with authentic storytelling and education at its core. Building this brand gives us the opportunity to control our messaging and reach, bringing Nouns and its values directly to a receptive audience.
## Nouns Esports 2024
Our journey has brought Nouns recognition in games like Counter-Strike, Dota, Pokémon Unite, Smash Bros, and others. In Counter-Strike, we narrowly missed qualifying for the Major and earning in-game Nounish stickers, but remained a top North American contender garnering significant attention. In Dota, we surpassed expectations by qualifying for The International three years in a row, cementing the Nouns name and in-game assets in one of the most competitive esports and largest games globally.

### Learnings
1. Hosting our own events ensures full control over programming and seamless partner integration, like Matcha.
2. High-profile matches attract viewers, grow distribution channels, and provide short-form content for multi-platform engagement.
3. Events offer clear timelines and structured engagement, making them easier to sponsor.
## 2025 Refined Focus: Smash Bros Events
Smash is Nounish ⌐◨-◨
We’ve found a community that is not only open to engaging with Nouns but eager to learn and connect with our mission. This presents a unique opportunity to create significant impact and continue building our legacy as a positive force within the gaming world.

#### Grassroots - Passionate and engaged community
- With no central governing authority, the scene thrives thanks to its passionate and dedicated operators. Tournaments are held weekly at every scale imaginable—whether in a local bar, a college campus, a friend’s basement, or a convention center. This grassroots ecosystem is powered by individuals and groups who love the game, creating a vibrant, self-sustaining community that perfectly aligns with the Nouns ethos of decentralization and collective creativity.
#### Longevity - confidence in existing in 10+ years
- Released in 2001, Super Smash Bros. Melee remains a thriving and beloved game over two decades later. Its timing was impeccable, arriving during an era when gathering with friends after school to game for hours was a way of life. Smash became the perfect centerpiece for these meetups, creating a generation of lifelong fans whose favorite pastime is still coming together to play their favorite game.
- What began as casual gatherings has evolved into events of all sizes, where groups of friends from around the globe unite to celebrate their shared passion. These connections fuel the community’s growth as players bring their friends into the fold. Despite the game’s age, new players continue to discover Melee, drawn by its rich history and the opportunity to carve their own place in its legacy. Melee’s enduring appeal ensures that it remains not just a game but a timeless tradition that bridges generations.
#### Momentum as one of the brands in the space helping out the most.
- Top esports organizations like Cloud9, Team Liquid, and FlyQuest participate in the professional Super Smash Bros. scene, but they rarely engage beyond the surface. They don’t dive deeper into the grassroots ecosystem or connect meaningfully with the community that drives the game’s enduring success. By embedding ourselves as active contributors within Smash’s vibrant network of passionate operators, we have the unique opportunity to build lasting loyalty and genuine fandom. Our involvement goes beyond sponsorships—we’re participating alongside the very community that makes Smash special.
This year, through [Proposal 534](https://www.nouns.camp/proposals/534), we hosted two successful Smash events—Tipped Off 15 and the Nounsfest Showcase—with the Nounsvitational coming soon. Next year, we aim to build on this momentum by creating open, inclusive events that the gaming community and Nouns can take pride in.
Our vision is to establish a scalable events circuit that not only showcases Nounish culture but also fosters collaboration with other Nounish groups, leveraging our platform to drive meaningful engagement and shared growth across our entire ecoystem.

## Nouns.GG
Nouns GG is our fan platform that taps into the natural connection esports fans have with competition making participation feel like playing a competitive game. This approach transforms the mundane routine of governance into an interactive experience where fans are excited to participate, fostering a stronger, more aligned community.

To build a compelling narrative, Nouns GG will play a key role in driving engagement and excitement around our major events. Unlike a typical esports organization website, Nouns GG offers unique features—such as Rounds, Quests, and Achievements—transforming it into a cultural hub where Nouns fans and broader gaming communities can connect and engage.
Our website will operate in four seasonal phases, each spanning from the start of the season to the completion of a major event. During each season, users will unlock exclusive Rounds, Quests, and Achievements that help them climb the leaderboard. The leaderboard then allows us to quantify, recognize, and reward our most dedicated supporters, creating an immersive onchain experience that builds community loyalty year-round.
Since our launch in June, we’ve built several impactful features:
- **[Rounds](https://nouns.gg/rounds)**: Inspired by Prop House, Rounds provide a unique and powerful way to incentivize anyone to represent Nouns, rewarding participants for showcasing nounish behavior. Rounds are uniquely viral, leading proposers to bring in their audience to Nouns and support them. To date, over 6,000 people have participated in Rounds. With an increased budget, we can scale them up and run more viral experiments.

- **[Quests](https://nouns.gg/quests)**: Guide users in supporting Nouns GG and our partners through targeted quests, allowing for deeper engagement with our events while providing key metrics from users for sponsored campaigns.

- **[Nexus](https://warpcast.com/sams/0xcecf78f5)**: An experience based ranking system where users level up their accounts by participating in Rounds, attending events, and completing quests/achievements.

- **Rewards:** In our proposal we are requesting 3 Nouns (selected for, in our opinion, low aesthetic appeal) to be turned into 3,000,000 $NOUNS that we will distribute to our community as rewards for placements on the leaderboard. Users will be able to exchange their $NOUNS token for things such as merchandise, event tickets, or swap them into USDC using our partner [Matcha.xyz](http://matcha.xyz/)

# Championing the Nouns Brand
Aklo and Junebug will champion our programming, acting as ambassadors who embody the values and aspirations of Nouns GG. Their role will not only increase the visibility of the opportunities we create but also set a high standard for community members aspiring to represent Nouns. Nouns GG will collaborate with them to produce content that will share updates on our events, Rounds, and activities within Nouns DAO to further enhance engagement.
- **[Aklo](https://warpcast.com/notaklo)**: A long-standing member of Nouns Esports, Aklo has steadily climbed the competitive ranks, recently securing a top-three finish at a major event and breaking into the top 10. His genuine interest in NounsDAO led to his recent Noun delegation through our Delegate program, making him a natural choice to amplify Nouns GG’s brand and vision within the community.

- **[Junebug](https://x.com/arJunebug)**: Recently onboarded via Lil Nouns’ [Proposal 241](https://lilnouns.camp/proposals/241), Junebug is one of the most popular Smash players today, known for his engaging personality, strong camera presence, and deep ties within the community. His enthusiasm and curiosity about NounsDAO’s potential make him an excellent ambassador to connect with fans and introduce Nouns’ initiatives.

# TLDR

To effectively engage, educate, and inspire this audience, we’ve built Nouns Esports as a platform with authentic storytelling and education at its core.
We believe we’ve accomplished much of what we set out to achieve in these arenas. In Counter-Strike, we narrowly missed qualifying for the Major and earning in-game Nounish stickers. Despite this, we gained significant attention, with our team recognized as a top North American contender.

This year, through [Proposal 534](https://www.nouns.camp/proposals/534), we hosted two successful Smash events—Tipped Off 15 and the Nouns Fest Showcase—with the Nounsvitational coming soon. Next year, we aim to build on this momentum by creating open, inclusive events that the gaming community and Nouns can take pride in.
Our vision is to establish a scalable events circuit that not only showcases Nounish culture but also fosters collaboration with other Nounish groups, leveraging our platform to drive meaningful engagement and shared growth across our entire ecosystem.

To date, 5.5k people have participated in Rounds.

- **Rewards:** In our proposal we are requesting 3 Nouns to be turned into 3,000,000 $NOUNS that we will distribute to our community as rewards for placements on the leaderboard. Users will be able to exchange their $NOUNS token for merchandise, event tickets, or swap them into USDC using our partner [Matcha.xyz](http://matcha.xyz/).

### Roster Successes
Our journey has brought Nouns recognition in games like Counter-Strike, Dota, Pokémon Unite, Smash Bros, and others. We believe we’ve accomplished much of what we set out to achieve in these arenas. In Counter-Strike, we came tantalizingly close to qualifying for the Major and securing in-game Nounish stickers—an endeavor that, though unsuccessful, brought Nouns to the attention of thousands of fans, with our team consistently mentioned as a top North American team to watch. In Dota, we exceeded expectations by qualifying for The International in each of our three years, solidifying the Nouns name in one of the world’s most competitive esports tournaments.

### 2025 Focus: Smash Bros Events
In 2025, we’re planning to place a major focus on Smash Bros., drawn by its deeply loyal and vibrant community. Unlike many larger esports, Smash Bros. has a unique grassroots culture that aligns closely with the Nounish ethos of creativity, inclusivity, and community building.
This new direction centers on hosting impactful events and creating gamified digital experiences to elevate fan engagement within the Smash Bros. community. To enrich this experience, we’re developing software solutions that streamline event participation and deepen engagement, including tools for registration, digital merchandise, real-time voting, and other interactive elements. These tools will help position Nouns Esports as a leader in event execution while delivering an immersive digital experience that brings fans closer to the action.
Our goal is to build something that Nouns can be proud of and that the gaming community genuinely enjoys.
### Nounish Events Beyond Gaming
In this process, we’re also committed to supporting other Nounish initiatives by providing a platform for creators, artists, and community leaders to showcase their projects to a passionate audience. By aligning our goals and sharing our platform, we amplify the efforts of fellow Nounish creators, creating a dynamic and interconnected ecosystem.

### Why We’re Asking You to Bet on Nouns Esports
We’re here, we’re Nounish, and we’re dedicated to refining our approach in gaming to represent Nouns in the best way we can. We’re adapting, evolving, and determined to build a Nounish legacy in gaming—one that resonates with audiences and carries the DAO’s mission forward.
Our 2025 structure gives us a focused approach, allowing us to pursue meaningful engagement and measure our success through tangible metrics. This focus ensures that every initiative not only drives internal progress but also sets clear benchmarks for success, enabling us to continuously build on what works and refine our impact.
Thank you for your support and belief in our vision.

# propdate #2 - nounsfest showcase recap

This event was originally planned to take place at the Nouns Coffee Shop (from Proposal [450](https://nouns.camp/proposals/450)), but we pivoted to host it at the United Theater alongside Nouns Fest. After discussions, we realized the venue didn't provide the aesthetic we were aiming for, so we decided to explore other options. When [Proposal 583](https://www.nouns.camp/proposals/583) passed, we knew Nouns Town would be the perfect spot for our event.

## venue challenges
We used a venue-provided stage that worked and saved budget, but it wasn't without its flaws. The stage consisted of four wooden blocks propped up by metal legs. Unfortunately, the final setup was slightly wobbly, and it was a bit nerve-wracking having players come up and down during the show.
Moreover, the stage covers we designed were incorrectly sized due to an error from the production company, and one of the stage blocks was a different size than the others, creating a less-than-perfect look. While this was a minor issue, it was disappointing that our planning didn't work out as smoothly as we had hoped.

## the budget
While we initially planned to bring in 10 players, we ended up accommodating 12. One player was undecided about attending until the day before his flight, leading to a last-minute addition.
We managed to reduce costs by not needing to provide catering, but we did not anticipate the significant expense of covering Uber rides for players and staff to attend various Nouns activities around Los Angeles outside of our event. Originally, our proposal outlined a one-day event alongside Nouns Fest, but with the introduction of Nouns Town and Dreamland, our costs increased to support the full experience.
A few players, after experiencing Nouns Town, became more enthusiastic about our original pitch to immerse them in the broader Nouns experience. Initially, some were uncertain about staying beyond the one-day event, but after having such a great time and learning more about Nouns, they requested to extend their stay. Unfortunately, our airline tickets were non-flexible, and we had to rebook at an additional cost.
While there is some overlap between the budget for the Smash Prop and the previous Esports Prop, overall, we believe our spending has remained aligned with the plan. We are confident in executing the remainder of the proposal without needing additional funding from the DAO.
## the event
The event featured six showmatches, followed by a crew battle where **Nouns Esports** faced off against **Moist Esports** – and we emerged victorious! ⌐◨-◨
The crew battle was an unexpected surprise for spectators and was incredibly well-received. Checkout the [VOD here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_na461K7N0)!
### production & viewership
We partnered with [Polarity](https://x.com/polaritygg) who executed a pristine show. We'll be working with them again for the Nounsvitational.
We enjoyed fantastic viewership throughout the day, and the **Nounsfest Showcase** became the most-watched event ever on **Nouns Esports' livestreaming channels**. Since then, the event recordings have continued to reach a wider audience, further boosting viewership. In the coming days, we'll also be releasing additional short-form content to keep the momentum going.

**Overview:**
Nouns Esports is requesting 3 CRT Head Nouns from the treasury whose mission will be to onboard gamers to the DAO. These CRT Heads will be delegated to individuals chosen by our community through nouns.gg/rounds.
Given the strong momentum we've seen since the launch of our rounds program nearly two months ago, we're optimistic about delegating Nouns through this initiative. The rounds have successfully doubled our Discord community and added over 5,700 new accounts to our site.

The goals of the Delegate Program are to:
1. Create greater awareness and understanding of Nouns.
2. Provide a unique opportunity to those not ready to buy a Noun of their own.
3. Demonstrate that Nouns is a welcoming community for anyone and that a strong background in crypto is not required to participate.
---
### Delegate Selection Process:
Participants are currently split between 3 ranks which feature different voting allocations.
1. Explorer (1 vote) - Initial rank upon account creation.
2. Challenger (3 votes) - Earned by voting or proposing in at least 3 Rounds within the last 3 months.
3. Champion (10 votes) - Reserved for those who have been active in Rounds and connected their Twitter, Discord, Warpcast, and crypto wallet.
Delegates will be selected by members of nouns.gg who have earned either the "Challenger" or "Champion" rank. Anyone interested in becoming a delegate can submit a proposal for consideration. After a 3 month term, delegates may reapply but their reappointment will be determined by the results of the next Round.
The Nouns Esports team will offer a white-glove experience to all delegates, providing them with an ENS and ETH to facilitate their voting. Those who successfully complete the following deliverables during their term will receive a reward of 0.1 ETH from Nouns Esports.
#### Delegate Deliverables:
1. Vote on more than 66% of proposals during their tenure.
2. Required to vote with reason or quote other voters.
3. Post biweekly in a Warpcast /channel sponsored by Nouns Esports about their experience.

### Why Not Zeroweight?
Zeroweight is an effective tool, but it lacks the social accountability that comes with delegation. When someone is delegated a Noun, they take on a responsibility to participate actively in governance. Missing votes or casting votes with reasons that the community disagrees with can subject them to criticism. We believe that this peer-driven accountability fosters a more responsible voting environment, ensuring that our delegates are not just passive participants but active, engaged voices within the DAO.

The proposal and the successful passing of the proposal sparked some great Reddit threads. If interested, you can check them out here:
1. [Nouns Esports is proposing hosting an event with the same format as Summit in December of this year](https://www.reddit.com/r/SSBM/comments/1ciz7z8/nouns_esports_is_proposing_hosting_an_event_with/)
2. [Nouns' proposal "to host 3 premier Smash Events in 2024" has passed](https://www.reddit.com/r/SSBM/comments/1co6zk4/nouns_proposal_to_host_3_premier_smash_events_in/)
## Tipped Off 15
At Tipped Off 15, Nouns was integrated as the tier 1 sponsor of the event. Nouns Esports was prominently featured throughout the broadcast, maintained a booth on-site, unveiled the Nouns Fest Showcase trailer, and advertised the launch of our newly updated website, Nouns.GG, which has replaced Prop House for our community.

Tipped Off 15 will be remembered as one of the premier tournaments of 2024. It was the only open event featuring all of the top 10 players, and it attracted more top 20 players than any other competition.
The event was streamed across three channels, peaking at 32,605 concurrent viewers during the grand finals, where C9.Mang0 triumphed over Nouns.CodySchwab. The event amassed a total of 262,616.9 hours of live stream watch time and garnered over half a million VOD views, making it one of the most watched events of the year.

### Content
Our content team arrived at Tipped Off 15 early to capture exclusive behind-the-scenes footage at Mang0's bootcamp. We have filled our channels with short-form content from this event, which has amassed over 200,000 views to date. This unprecedented attention on our YouTube channel can be attributed to our unique access to the world's top players, thanks to the event director, Ohan.
Check out the shorts on our [Youtube channel](https://www.youtube.com/@nounsesports/shorts).

### Booth
At our booth, we gave away Noggles/chocolate and sold t-shirts/hats. While sales were modest, we successfully distributed all of the chocolate and Noggles.

Our key takeaways included:
* Increasing booth activity, such as setting up a game station with scheduled activations featuring our players.
* Adding signage to provide information about Nouns from a distance, sparking curiosity without requiring direct interaction.
* Using a clothing rack to better display our merchandise.
### Converting to Nouns.GG
A major focus of sponsoring Tipped Off 15 was to kick off our journey for the second half of the year. During the event, the Nouns Fest Showcase voting round was open, aiming to bring awareness to our new website, which functions similarly to Prop House but operates off-chain and offers various login options besides a crypto wallet, enabling greater adoption.
We anticipated the event would lead to an influx of new accounts, which it did. However, the Tuesday after the event, one of the candidates, Soonsay, sent out a [tweet](https://x.com/s00nsay/status/1803134425653293150) asking his audience to vote for him, generating more traffic in one day than the entire weekend.

### Brand Integration
Noggle lanyards were a huge success and were seen everywhere throughout the weekend. Players wore them during matches on stream, in photos, and around the event area. Lanyards and competitor passes often become collector's items that fans cherish. One of our key takeaways was to alternate the Noggles with Nouns.GG branding to drive more traffic to our site.

Before the top 4 matches, we played the Nouns Fest Showcase trailer, which was very well received. You can view the trailer [here](https://x.com/nounsesports/status/1802523449509986774).
Another highlight of our brand integration was the theater shot of everyone wearing Noggles. We used Klim's lo-fi paper Noggles to do this cost-effectively. Once everyone was seated in the theater, we distributed Noggles and kindly asked everyone to prepare for the photo. Ohan, the Event Director, came on stage to thank everyone for attending and prompted them to pose for this memorable shot.

The Nouns Badge initiative was unsuccessful. Our community lacks a strong minting culture, and many users do not have Ethereum readily available for transactions. Although we are a few steps away from cultivating a healthy minting culture, we will continue to iterate and streamline the process to facilitate easier user onboarding.
### Next Up
Now that Tipped Off is behind us, our focus shifts towards Nouns Fest. We have confirmed our 10 players, with 2 of them being voted in on [Nouns.GG](https://nouns.gg/rounds/nouns-fest-showcase).
Thank you for reading. If you have any questions or would like to collaborate, you can find us on Discord or Warpcast. ⌐◨-◨

#
## **TLDR**
Nouns Esports wants to host 3 premier Smash Events in 2024.
1. Tipped Off 15: Atlanta, Georgia | June 15 & 16
2. NounsFest Showcase: Los Angeles, California | October TBD
3. Nounsvitational: NYC | December 7 & 8
## **Why Smash?**
Super Smash Brothers Melee is one of the world's most popular fighting games. With locals all around the country, Smash Melee's decentralized nature and resilient history make it the perfect game to help Nouns become a legacy brand within esports.
**Like Nouns, Melee esports is entirely community-driven, with no single leader.**

## **Events**
Each event is unique in scope:
- **Tipped Off** - A "Super Major" with hundreds of competitors and over a thousand attendees.
- **The NounsFest Showcase** - A cozy event at the Nouns Coffee Shop.
- **The Nounsvitational** - The final event of 2024 combines big-city vibes with one of the largest prize pools of the year.
---
### **Tipped Off 15 - Atlanta, Georgia**
Last year's Tipped Off 14 became the first tournament to secure sponsorship from Nouns Esports, facilitated through [their Prop House proposal](https://offchain.prop.house/nouns-esports/tournaments/5985).
Celebrating its 15th iteration, [Tipped Off 15](https://x.com/TippedOffSSB/status/1742982538497581459) is emerging as one of the year's few Super Majors, distinguished by a stacked competition field that elevates it to one of the most prestigious events.
Tipped Off will be providing the following deliverables:
1. Noggles front-and-center in front of 30,000+ concurrent spectators (estimate based on the last event with 45k viewers).
2. Broadcast GFX and in-person brand integration ⌐◨-◨.
3. Commercials advertising NounsFest Showcase and Nounsvitational.
4. Nouns Esport merchandise booth with a large spectrum of products, featuring Nounish brands such as Bigshot Toyworks, Precious Plastic, Nouns Coffee, and more.
5. Bring fans onchain with the Nouns Badge that will provide perks to event attendees.

---
### **NounsFest Showcase - Los Angeles, CA**
Nouns Esports is hosting a side event at the Nouns Coffee Shop during NounsFest. This event will feature 10 players competing in 5 anticipated show matches. 8 of the players will be invited with the final 2 being decided by the Nouns Esports community on the new nouns.gg voting client.

We are planning a mid-day event but we will adjust our schedule to complement the overall NounsFest program. We've been in discussion with the Nouns Coffee Shop team regarding the timing of their opening, if the venue is unavailable we will consider alternative locations or returning USDC to the DAO.

---
### **Nounsvitational - New York City, NY**
The Nounsvitational, in collaboration with [Station 3](https://twitter.com/Station3nyc) (a web3 coworking space in Manhattan), will feature 16 of the world's most popular Super Smash Bros. players. The event aims to combine high-level competitive Smash with premium content and community engagement. This competition is set to be the highlight and conclusion of the 2024 Smash calendar.

To further elevate the event, we plan to have [Toady Hawk](https://warpcast.com/toadyhawk.eth) as the show's host. Toady will be interviewing players and ensuring smooth transitions throughout the event's schedule. He will amplify the Nounish experience for viewers, both online and in person.

By using Start.gg fans will be able to purchase merchandise designed by a variety of artists that will enable them to vote for their favorite players to be invited to the event. Additionally, voting points can be obtained through the purchase of event tickets.

---
#### **Gamer's Outreach**
A major focus of the Nounsvitational will be a charity fundraiser for Gamer's Outreach, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit specializing in creating GO Karts. These portable video game kiosks allow hospital staff to offer bedside entertainment to children who are unable to leave their rooms.
Gamer's Outreach aims to donate 500 GO Karts to hospitals across the globe in 2024. With every $3500 raised, we can fund the creation of one new GO Kart. We propose that Nouns begins the event with a $3500 donation to kickstart the fundraiser.

---
## **Empowering a Community Led Esports Team**
This year, we've successfully brought many Smash players and enthusiasts onchain through Prop House. From now until December, we will conduct four distinct voting rounds on nouns.gg engaging our community to shape the future of Nouns Esports:
1. **Pre-Tipped Off 15:** A Prop House Round to select one player to represent Nouns Esports at the event.
2. **Tipped Off 15:** Two winners will advance to the NounsFest Showcase.
3. **NounsFest Showcase:** One winner will be invited to the Nounsvitational.
4. **Nounsvitational:** One winner will secure a six-month sponsorship with Nouns Esports.

---
## **Budget**
### **Total: 145,920 USDC**
We'll be leveraging Nouns Esports' current full-time staff to support this proposal, but the successful execution of these events requires partnering with key members of the Smash community for production. Nouns Esports will provide marketing materials, manage Prop House rounds, design merchandise, and create content. [Ohan](https://twitter.com/Ohantheman) (event director of Tipped Off) and his team will concentrate on executing the event.
**Event Director: 31,500 USDC**
- Ohan, the Event Director of Tipped Off, will be the driving force behind bringing these events to life.
- Preproduction, production, player management, contracting, & logistics.
**Event Production: 114,420 USDC**
- Brand Integration at Tipped Off: 10,000 USDC
- Staffing: 16,150 USDC
- Equipment: 4,000 USDC
- Travel & Accommodation: 33,230 USDC
- Catering: 8,040 USDC
- Prizes: 12,500 USDC
- Marketing Materials: 8,000 USDC
