Temporary Auction Pause v2&&First, I want to acknowledge that hifive.eth is currently the top holder. I have no concerns about that position, and this proposal is not intended to compete for or influence ownership rankings in any way.
I initially put this proposal forward to gauge community sentiment around how we might address potential sybil risks within the DAO.
At the time, I chose not to vote on it because I didn’t want to unilaterally influence the outcome—I wanted to allow space for broader community input and discussion.
I’m reintroducing it now as a temporary approach to addressing these concerns, based on what we’ve observed so far.
I’d like to propose a temporary pause on auctions to allow the community to reassess the current state of the DAO.
Recently, we’ve seen patterns in both the types of proposals being submitted and the concentration of auction wins by a single wallet—often bidding significantly above the base price. While participation is open and competitive by design, this raises important questions around fairness, distribution, and long-term sustainability.
Additionally, earlier observations of possible sybil-like behavior make it important for us to reflect on how value is being captured and distributed within the ecosystem.
This proposal is not aimed at restricting participation, but rather at creating space for alignment as a community.
**Key Questions During This Pause**
***Do we believe the current base bid accurately reflects the value of these NFTs?***
***Should we explore adjusting the base bid to better match perceived value?***
***How do we ensure broader and more equitable participation in auctions?***
***What safeguards can we introduce to reduce potential sybil behavior?***
It’s worth noting that I’ve personally participated in these auctions, primarily at base bid levels and this perspective comes from both participation and observation.
The goal here is simple: to take a step back, align on what we want this DAO to represent, and ensure we’re building something sustainable and fair for everyone involved.
I’d love to hear thoughts from active DAO members through votes or propdates.
Finally, I want to sincerely thank all holders who have taken the time to participate in voting and share their perspectives so far. Your engagement is what gives this DAO its direction, and it’s genuinely appreciated.
