Kai is a legend and one of Alps' earliest members who goes out repping Alps at a professional level. Getting Alps recognised in his film I think will be a good way to potentially attract more mountain friend to join us here.
Gnarly News has been a solid endeavor and there’s value in continuation. Satori’s work has been a positive addition and it’s a useful resource for more than just subscribers. 👏
# Gnarly News Continuation
### **tl;dr**
Satori is seeking to continue the [Gnarly News newsletter](https://gnarly.news) that was originally funded through [Prop 41](https://snapshot.org/#/gnars.eth/proposal/0x1353abe6679ea8aecf8505fc0a2785328adfefe358d4352d25862bd97dd2278d).

---
### **Newsletter**
The [newsletter](https://gnarly.news) is a powerful tool for aggregating news and updates from the Gnars community. In the rapidly evolving ecosystem of the nouniverse, information streams are abundant, making it challenging to catch all the latest updates. Gnarly News simplifies this for Gnars DAO, providing a reliable source for comprehensive coverage of the latest news, events, and developments. More than just reporting on DAO activities, it highlights key community achievements and initiatives. The newsletter plays a crucial role in filtering and curating content, ensuring that our community stays informed with relevant updates. As Gnarly News gains traction, it not only serves as an archive of our activities but also attracts new collaborators who may be inspired by what we are up to.
### **Reach and Impact**
The newsletter currently has 450 subscribers and has accumulated nearly 10,000 page views since its inception. It also serves as the foundation for discussing news on the Gnars Jam Sessions, and a key instrument in highlighting what our members are up to.
### **Content Amplification**
In addition to publishing the newsletter, we'll begin repurposing the content contained within the newsletter to be published as individual tweets/posts in the days following the publication of the newsletter. Each section will be turned into a unique post. Certain posts will be repeated every week or so, including reminders of meetings, Jam Sessions, etc. Others will be unique based on the news and events happening that week. This is to help bring attention to activities within the DAO and spread our reach even further, while also increasing activity on our socials.
This work will fall under the scope of the Community Pod, so there is no budget included for this work in this proposal. Instead, Satori will demonstrate how to break down the newsletter into tweets for the first week and then give others within the Community Pod the opportunity to pick up this work as well.
---
### **Budget**
Retro Funding: 6 @ $200 USDC = $1,200 USDC (newsletters 26-31)
Newsletters: 12 @ $400 USDC each = $4,800 USDC (newsletters 32-43)
Total = $6,000 USDC

I'm super excited about this! As mentioned in m3th's prop, I love the cross collab with both Gnars and Alps. And this in particular is exciting because I get to see some of it in action!
Happy to have supported this prop from our nouns proposal, and by voting in Alps as well. I'm more than happy to support this final piece of the puzzle at Gnars.
I think having visibility in films like this provide immense value long term.
I’m super pumped to see Bennie and crew shred Rusutsu and can’t wait to see the full length film.
Love the dual DAO props that bring awareness to both Alps and Gnars on the ground.
And stoked to be able to work together on activations at Rusutsu.
I am a big supporter of this. I love the fact that we can engage someone that creates cool films, cool events and shares how it happened with his crew and beyond.
It makes sense to utilise both Gnars and Alps in this way and I think it will bring value to the overall ecosystem.

This prop is quite comprehensive!
I love the thoughtful approach and all the different aspects.
I think it’s pretty reasonable and a good way to integrate your surfing and speaking/events for education and onboarding.
Beach cleanups, great! I know there’s some beaches that need it.
👏
I think this is a much more impactful proposal than the recent one.
I like the changes and the fact that it doesn’t take away from what Will does at all, but it does cover more concrete ideas. Best of luck.
I really like this, ramp install, bob leading the initiative, will speaking/skating, it’s all a win imo.
Would love to see a simpler onboarding process in the future where events like this enable people without any explanation on how to get involved beyond “skate and upload your clips like Insta”. But that’s not related to this prop, just makes me think more about the onboarding difficulties.
It took some serious thought on where I land on this one. And ultimately I came to the reasoning to vote in support because there’s a few things here I’d like to see happening. I think the experiment with L2 is great and the experiments around DAO tooling for this community is also something that I think people will find beneficial. All the while supporting the local community with funds.
Best of luck.
I have a few reservations about this prop that I mentioned in discord:
- I feel like there's a lot of different things in this prop that could be more focussed over less time (some were removed since my first feedback which was good to see).
- The amount is based on an arbitrary scale that was created by community members, which I appreciate the time going into setting that up, but I don't think it's a great precedent to set because then shredders just aim in those levels. I suppose this was the goal, but I would prefer every proposal and value proposition be evaluated isolated and based on its merits rather than a set scale which sets up expectations that may not get support when votes come in. A socially enforced consensus is an odd one and may not reflect onchain, so setting a scale might be misleading.
- The amount seems pretty high - not that Will does not deserve it, but for the value that Gnars will see. I keep coming back to how will this increase auction participants when evaluating proposals and it's not entirely clear here for me.
- I love the 2 video elements of this prop and these are primarily why I am voting in favour here. I hope to see these minted so people can collect forever. I'd be happy to chat/help with that aspect when the time comes.
- There is no doubt Will is a valuable community member and I want to support him. But I hope to see some solid outcomes from this prop to restore my faith in funding shredders ahead of time for work to be done.
I really wish we could afford to just have a Gnars team that is paid to do the things they love, and I think this is possible one day, but not without auctions popping off. It might take a while, but I do believe we're set for this future.
And I think we're fortunate to have such passionate people in the community already, so thank you Will, and everyone else for that matter!
Was a hard decision, please make Gnars proud.
# Change Proposal Threshold to 9bps
I’m proposing that we lower the threshold of Alps needed to submit a proposal.
By setting the threshold to 9bps, it will mean only 1 Alp is needed to submit a proposal up until token #1111, then 2 up until token #2222 and so on, unless changed via a future proposal.
This is the first proposal here in Alps DAO and looking at holders, it seems as it stands, not many people have the ability to submit props with their current Alp holdings.
This will allow any/all holders with at least one token to submit their proposal ideas for the community to vote on.
