Since we didn’t have the new link for the Prop Updates website, we were under the impression that the platform was down. For that reason, we posted our latest update less than a couple months ago, publicly on X, where it has remained clearly visible on our account.
It’s disappointing to learn that this update apparently wasn’t checked before a candidate was put forward to stop funding for a musical our team is working incredibly hard to bring to life.
For clarity and transparency, here is the link to the X thread containing the full update:

Happy New Year, Nouners!
Let’s start 2026 at a perfect pace. We’ve officially begun draft number six of Isabel, and over the past eight months we’ve been rewriting every part of the musical that didn’t fully serve the story or its lore. We’re happy to say that we’ve finally cracked every lingering question surrounding the history and storyline of Isabel. So much has changed—but all for the better—and we’re incredibly excited for you to read the new and improved version of this mixed-media musical. We’ve made it a bit more detailed so you can get a full picture of what you’ll eventually see on stage.
Alongside the intense work of shaping the story, we’ve also added one new song to the mix, titled “Never Let You Go.” It’s an intimate moment between Isaac and Isabel, centered on how they relate to one another despite their differences—and how, through it all, their feelings for each other continue to grow.
On the social media front, as we prepare to launch Isabel’s official accounts in four months, we’ve already begun laying the groundwork. Because this show has some mixed-media elements to the production, Max Pretends started an Instagram account exploring the animated films that inspired this project. The account, @maxpretendss, launched two months ago, reached over 2.3 million people in the past month, and is on track to hit 10k followers by January. We’ll be using this momentum to share more about the musical and its creative process.
It’s all incredibly exciting, and it truly feels like everything is falling into place. Thank you for your trust and patience—this project is still a long way from finished, but every day we grow more confident that Isabel will be a show to remember.

We’re deep in the creative trenches and f*** it’s exciting. Here’s a little glimpse of what the last few months have looked like for us
After putting together the pitch deck, Jeff and I realised that this process is too special to ever feel rushed. Our characters didn’t quite feel right. So we slowed down, tuned out the noise, and focused on what’s important; the ethos of Nouns, and bringing this musical to life.
The magic of writing comes from enjoying each step and letting the characters surprise you, so with that in mind, we pivoted.
The answer led to months of refining our story. Five to six hour long writing sessions every night, and even during our week off, we found ourselves dreaming about the story, but this time, we weren’t haunted by it, it felt like an adventure, we were excited. The result now is a refined story with characters that fully embrace the world we’ve been creating.
During these four months, max also got an offer to write the music for Murakami’s “Norwegian Wood” musical in Tokyo, but after a month back and forth, the end dates were too close to the Nouns Musical, and we only have one priority… making this musical work.
Which led to us opening up Draft #2 of “Isabel”, and it felt incredible. Today we’re so excited to share how far things have come. (And of course, as with any musical, the rewriting will continue long into the journey, that’s the beauty of it.)
Here’s what’s new:
* Three brand new songs at key moments in the story
* An animated social media experiment we’re preparing to launch in April.
* A first look at costumes that are already bringing our characters to life
And one more exciting update: after a great conversation with our director, we’ve decided to follow a model she’s had success with in the past. Before making our official Off-Broadway debut at La Mama, we’re planning a soft opening in San Diego. This gives us the chance to share the show with the community there, gather feedback from local producers, and fine-tune the experience so that when we arrive in New York, the premiere will feel truly ready.
We couldn’t be more thrilled with the direction things are heading and will keep sharing this journey with you all as we go.

With a lot of love and care poured into this project, we’re excited to share the deck Jeff and I have been developing over the last month. As with any musical, this is a living, evolving piece, and the writing process continues to grow and refine itself each day.
We’re incredibly grateful for your patience and support. At this stage, our focus is fully on the script, ensuring every element of the story has the space it needs to flourish into something meaningful and inspiring. A project of this scale demands our full attention, and we’re giving it just that. We hope this gives you confidence in our ability to bring this project to life in its fullest form.
Below, you’ll find the link to the current version of the deck, along with a song that gives you a glimpse into the universe we're building. Thank you again for believing in the process — we can’t wait to keep developing this with you.

Premise of song:
When Alistair and his uncle Simon witness the Tree of Creation dying, they realize it's because Isabel is gone, flung across the land. In a desperate attempt to bring her back, they turn to the ancient library and uncover a forbidden book of spells — one steeped in shadow. Alistair hesitates, torn between fear and love, but the urgency of saving Isabel outweighs his doubt. Simon, more resolute, urges him to embrace the darker path. As they fumble through the incantation, frustration and fear give way to determination, and the spell begins to take shape, blooming into a haunting, driven song.
(For now, Since there are two character represented by one voice, make sure to follow along with the lyrics in the description)

Feel free to contact us directly with any questions, we're always happy to talk more about the musical.
All the best

GM Nouners,
First of all, we want to thank you for your trust in the creative process. We wouldn’t be able to bring this musical to life without you, and we know firsthand how frustrating it can be to put your faith in a long-term creative project. Rest assured, Isabel is, and always will be, our passion.
Jeff and I are approaching three months into writing Isabel: A Nouns Musical, and our progress has been steadfast. We are currently at page 95 of our first draft and have remained extremely consistent in our work. In addition to writing, with every scene change, we are ensuring that every aspect on the production side is being considered. This means constant meetings with the director, costume and set designer, and producer, as we slowly shape the vision of how this will come to life in two and a half years. We are mindful of the time we’ve been given and remain dedicated to making the most of it, as not to waste any of our time, and yours.
Thanks to our producer and her reach into the New York theatre world, we have been speaking with an amazing theatre called “La mama” which has rehearsal spaces on top of a beautiful experimental stage, which Is what we’re gonna need to bring this to life. Things might change between now & then, but for now, it is a perfect space.
With every line of dialogue, we grow more passionate about our characters, and we believe the Nouns community will be just as excited about the final result. This musical demands our full attention, which is why we are currently focused on writing the best script possible. Our goal is that, in a couple of years, when someone sits in that theatre, they will not only be emotionally invested in the story and its characters, but will also walk away with a deep understanding of what Nouns represents.
Of course, for now, our priority is the script, but with such little time we have to think one step ahead and are experimenting with different social media ideas, since after all, it has to become one of our top priorities in less than a year. We understand theatre as an industry, and realise the work we have to do to bridge the audience to the art. This will include some cinematic behind the scenes, explaining the tedious writing process, mixed with some more personal videos of us singing the songs and inviting the audience into the scenes with us. Of course we will also continue posting on X and Farcaster consistently.
Overall We’re having a lot of fun .
Thank you for being on this journey with us.
Feel free to reach out to us at any time if you have any questions or concerns about the process so far.
# ISABEL (A Nouns Musical)

Hi Nouns community,
We had some technical issues with our proposal but we got it all fixed and we're back, sorry for the delay.
We’ve carefully read, reviewed and considered each of your comments from our first proposal. It was exciting to see how many of you were enthusiastic about this musical and equally heartening to know that you cared about the project's success.
Our initial three-step funding proposal, in hindsight, wasn’t the right fit for the production process or for ensuring that this musical comes to life, we understand that now. This is our first time presenting a creation to voters, and we’ve learned a lot through this process. Another important lesson was transparency, which is why we’ve taken the time to elaborate on the process and how we envision this musical taking shape.
We are ready to get to work and make this community proud!
INTRO:
We write for you, for the Nouns world, and its characters. For the past six months, Jeff Feldman (Alone Architect) and I (maxpretends) have poured our hearts into building the first-ever Nouns musical – developing a compelling story while faithfully keeping the value and integrity of this amazing community intact. We are finally ready to dive into the script, and this is the point where we need your help.
It has not been easy writing the lore of a crypto-founded project into a musical that can truly resonate with the masses and stand on its own, but our goal is to push the boundaries of art and create a world and story that kids – as much as adults – can relate to.
An impactful story is at its core, transformative. Remember the first time you watched Toy Story? While we can not compare ourselves to those geniuses, the feelings we hope to evoke in our audiences are ultimately the same deep, age-transcending emotional connection you very likely had with those toy characters.
Jeff and I have had a blast developing this story. It has made us reflect on our own character arcs through the journey our characters are taking, and we can not wait for you to dive into this world too. But first, we need a script!
ABOUT US:
As artists ourselves, we bring years of substantial experience to this project.
Jeff Feldman, raised in Canada, currently residing in Los Angeles, has been a music producer for twenty years. Previously signed to Atlantic records, he is used to creating worlds around an artist’s song and learned the subtlety needed to find a middle ground that pushes the narrative. He got to where he is by embracing every aspect of the music industry and taking on new challenges when they arose, including being the personal technician for Mike Shinoda.
I (max pretends) was born in France and have been songwriting / playwriting for ten years. After learning how to engineer with “The Voice” (Australia) and songwriting for a trailer house in Los Angeles, I moved onto ghostwriting for EDM artists as a topliner, under the independent label “No face Records”. This is the second musical I'll be writing – After five years of work, my first musical will be hitting the Scala Theatre in Paris on January 2026, co-written with Alain Boublil (Author of Les Miserables) based on Mark Twain’s novel “Adam & Eve”.

We have been working behind the scenes, making other artists and labels happy for years, but it takes a tremendous amount of time and effort to produce a project of this size from beginning to end. For us, being in the limelight has always taken second place to staying true to what we have created, and we intend to do nothing less with this musical.
We are devoted to the Nouns family, and our three years in this space have truly shown us what it means to adhere to our values and to the progress of art.
Jeff and I have always made sure that artists have had a home in Web3, from songwriting sessions every week in Discord, creating spaces where they could show their musical progress and value to the community…

To organizing a week long songwriting camp in New York where Web3 musicians could collaborate – some for the first time. Jeff and I have always wanted to bring the experience that we were thankful enough to learn and share it with our on chain family and the amazing artists we’ve met along the way.

MUSICAL SYNOPSIS:
In a segregated world where diverse characters are created daily by a single machine, one crystal stands at the source of its power. The King watches over Nouns Land from the capital, where Isaac – a young and eager Mustard sauce – is excited to join the annual Flavour Festival of his village. Unfortunately, his sauce is deemed immature, and he is forced to sit it out, once again. Despite all the warning signs, Isaac is determined to help his family win, but sadly, his attempts ultimately end in disaster, leaving him heartbroken and his family disqualified.
Disappointed, Isaac heads to the woods where he meets Doug the duck, who surprisingly loves his sauce. They discover smoke from afar coming from the machine and decide to investigate. Leaving their families waiting, they unexpectedly come across a shard of the magic crystal and with it, find themselves transported to the past.
They set off on an adventure where they meet Isabel Ketchup, a princess. Their fates are entangled in a complex conflict involving family, power, and legacy.
As they navigate these challenges, Isaac, Isabel, and Doug learn important life lessons about acceptance, loss, and the natural cycle of life and death. They will have to trust each other to overcome the treacherous path that awaits them. Sacrifices are made, teaching Isaac and Doug about selflessness and the deeper meaning of family. At the core of Nouns values, this story is about the significance of moving forward and the enduring power of love and friendship.

We are excited to show you one of the songs we’ve been working on for “Isabel”. Most of the show will be in a fun, comedic & sometimes dark humored tone but, for this specific moment, we needed to show the heart that some of these characters have, and this song highlights Doug’s. A duck that has never looked further than his limiting beliefs in himself.
TAKE MY HAND: Doug’s song
Sung by Doug right after he receives two pieces of a camera lens from a film director who creates the first Noggles. This gift is given to him right after the trio has liberated part of Nouns Land, which had been cursed by a dark spell.
This song reflects Doug’s realization of who he is, who he wants to be, and, more importantly, who he is becoming.
Our three main characters—Isabel (Princess Ketchup), Isaac (Mustard), and Doug (the duck)—are tired but happy and relieved to have freed the film nouns from their Black & White curse. This first stop on their adventure has brought them closer together. They take a moment before leaving the village to gather themselves and let out a collective sigh of relief.

WHY A MUSICAL?
Theater goes beyond just sitting at the movies and watching a screen. Whether good or bad, theater for thousands of years has left a mark on people, and to be honest, for many years, I, myself, did not fully understand why. Why do people still take the time, in our day and age where information is consumed at such a rapid pace? Why do people still carve out two hours or so in their day to go to the theater?
I have realized that fundamentally, it is about human connection. The audience is just as much a part of the show as the actors are. Plays and mainly musicals feed off of their audience to perform, and in turn, the audience experiences a uniquely authentic moment they will never forget. If done well, a musical or play will be imprinted in your mind and make the everyday person dream in that moment in their seats, and hopefully, for years to come.
The impact & potential that musicals have on the world goes beyond just playing it on that stage. Once the story is out there, it could lead to many amazing opportunities for the nouns brand to grow, think of schools, camps, any outlet that has a theatre and makes use of it, all we need, is an audience that relates to the characters and the music. I know we will achieve that.
THE PRODUCTION / BUDGET –
TOTAL REQUESTED: $360k
“You don’t write a musical, you re-write it.” – Steven Sondheim
A musical takes years to put together, but we want to prove that the Web3 space and community can be more efficient. While we will, without a doubt, put all our efforts, resources, and passion into this project, we need the Nouns community to place their faith in us and our ability to deliver. We know it is a tall ask, but we want you to know that we will fight for this every waking minute.
After working on this story for the past 8 months & knowing it inside-out, we will now be able to focus our efforts on the script as well as the constant content creation across all social media platforms to promote the project. We will make our content fun and relatable. We are striving for the best quality in every aspect of our work, and we want to showcase the Nouns brand as best as possible, and ultimately, make the community proud.
Social media takes a huge part in sharing our story with the world, and with both our combined experience in the music industry, we know incredibly well how to structure the marketing to make it impactful, but it does take a lot of time and effort on top of creating the art itself. We live in a world where one can’t live without the other.
After a year of writing and with progress shown across platforms, we will then move to the second phase, where we will start discussing the show with close friend Miranda Cornell, associate director of the 2024 Tony award for best musical (The Outsiders). She is a creative that I've known for many years and believe that she would do a wonderful job directing this show or at least guiding it for the stage. At this point, the music is done and we move onto the album recording, all the while constantly re writing parts of the show to complete it. Times are changing, and just last year, a musical that was created on Tik Tok won a grammy for "Best musical theater album", without a single stage production. We will deliver a full concept album, but to do so, we will need producers, engineers, and actors/singers. I will personally be playing and singing the voice of our main character, Isaac, for the purpose of the album only. Without sacrificing the art, We will aim to accomplish in two and half years, what theater writers do in four. It is our goal to provide clear and consistent progress, with the hope that the community understands that what we are attempting is undeniably ambitious and that there are probably many lessons to learn throughout the process, as we are (unfortunately) not robots. Once we have a great idea of where the show is going and have the album recording ready, I will be in direct contact with the head of musical theatre department at Warner Chappell Music, who has been extremely supportive & helpful with past works, and If interested, will help us find a producer & in the meantime, we already have our eyes set on an off broadway theater in New York.
As the authors, we will take only the bare minimum and ensure that approximately two-thirds of the budget is allocated to the final show costs and marketing. This allocation will include expenses for costumes, theater rental, set designers, actors, sound and light engineers, and makeup artists.
This approach will enable us to sustain an initial two-week run on stage and create a meaningful impact. Of course, this means we will need at least two months of rehearsal prior to the premiere of the musical, while also keeping in mind the unexpected surprises that often come with any art form. Thank you for believing in us, we won't let you down.

I know we will achieve that.

Thank you for believing in us, we won't let you down.isabel-(a-nouns-musical)-2
# ISABEL (A Nouns Musical)

Hi Nouns community,
We’ve carefully read, reviewed and considered each of your comments from our first proposal.
Previously signed to Atlantic records, he is us
ed to creating worlds around an artist’s song and learned the subtlety needed to find a middle ground that pushes the narrative.

The stage costs will be the last piece of the puzzle, which will include the costumes, theater, set designers, actors & sound/light Engineers.isabel-(a-nouns-musical)-1
# ISABEL (A NOUNS MUSICAL)

Previously signed to Atlantic records, he is us
ed to creating worlds around an artist’s song and learned the subtlety needed to find a middle ground that pushes the narrative.

THE PRODUCTION / BUDGET –
TOTAL REQUESTED FOR PHASE 1: $120k
“You don’t write a musical, you re-write it.” – Steven Sondheim
A musical takes years to put together, but we want to prove that the Web3 space and community can be more efficient. While we will, without a doubt, put all our efforts, resources, and passion into this project, we need the Nouns community to place their faith in us and our ability to deliver. We know it is a tall ask, but we want you to know we will fight for this every waking minute.
We are asking for $120k for the first 6 months of work which will allow us to focus on the script as well as the constant content creation across all social media platforms to promote the project. We will make our content fun and relatable. We are striving for the best quality in every aspect of our work, and we want to showcase the Nouns brand as best as possible and ultimately, make the community proud.
Social media takes a huge part in sharing our story with the world, and with both our combined experience in the music industry, we know incredibly well how to structure the marketing to make it impactful, but it does take a lot of time and effort on top of creating the art itself. We live in a world where one can’t live without the other.
THE PRODUCTION ROADMAP
After six months, we will come back to you, the community, with our progress on the script along with four full songs. We will then move to the second phase, where we will hire a script doctor to go through the next drafts with us and make sure that the musical is ready for the theater. At this point, we will ask for another $120k to fully focus on the music and every aspect of the recording. We will deliver a full concept album, but to do so, we will need producers, engineers, and actors/singers. I will personally be playing and singing the voice of our main character, Isaac, for the purpose of the album only.
We will aim to accomplish in one year what theater writers do in three. It is our goal to provide clear and consistent progress, with the hope that the community understands that what we are attempting is undeniably ambitious and that there are probably many lessons to learn throughout the process, as we are (unfortunately) not robots.
For our third and final phase, we will be asking for another $120k. We will need your help for the stage costs, including the costumes, theater, actors & Engineers.

We will need your help for the stage costs, including the costumes, theater, actors & Engineers.isabel-(a-nouns-musical)
