# Double down on Nouns x Farcaster **tldr:** Allocate another $150k to bring the total to $300k (3x100) in funding towards Nouns x Farcaster round in order to attract the best builders possible. **Context:** Through [proposal 498](https://www.nouns.camp/proposals/498), Nouns voted to fund a Nouns x Farcaster round for $150k USDC where three teams will receive $50k each to run a three month sprint. Reflecting on the level of commitment that we’re asking for and our hope to attract the best builders possible - we may be undervaluing the task at hand. Top tier teams’ opportunity cost is far greater than Nouns’ current offer. Additionally, given the small but real possibility of the new app becoming the everyday Nouns app - $150k does not properly price in the upside. Initially this app will try to solve for communication within Nouns but it may evolve to encompass more Nouns functions (governance, funding, etc) thanks to Farcaster’s expanding feature set. If any of these ideas play out, it is critical for us to do so with the best team(s) possible. Lastly, capital is nowhere near as scarce as talent. It seems like a reasonable trade. **Logistics:** The $150k would go into the same safe that the initial funds were sent to in prop 498.

voting FOR thx to the interview as well. Bob seems genuine and we'd be winning as a community to have him come onboard as a nouner. for future nounboarding (⌐◨-◨), i would like to formalize some structure for awarding nouns. a simple "vote for 50%+ of props during 3 months to unlock" seems both reasonable and fun for the new members. sure they can still "spam vwrs" to unlock but if that's the case, we didn't do enough dd prior to. Welcome Bob! I was you in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater!
i worked w the nouns dao japan community in the early days and have nothing but good things to say about my experience with them. i applaud them for taking the next step and requesting funds directly from the dao to become more independent in their decision making. please keep us updated via updates.wtf!
as much as i like seeing the nounish sails and think that five has done an incredible job at executing past props, i don't think the events proposed are impactful in the way we need them to be. that said, i would consider the nouns sail event if it were proposed alone.
The beginning of an epic adventure, A seed of hope on Ethereum's pastures. The first proposal, a testament true, Of Nouns DAO's aim, and the good it could pursue. With open hearts, the community convened, Towards a noble cause, their vision leaned. Five ETH to each charity, the proposal did state, A step towards a world, compassionate and great. Coral Restoration, Freedom of the Press, Internet Archive, a digital redress. Rainforest Foundation, the green lungs’ ally, Tor Project, where free ideas fly. GiveCrypto received with open embrace, A generous act, of the Noun's grace. The seeds sown then, have blossomed wide, A journey of giving, with Nouns DAO as the guide. Today we mark, with hearts replete, The completion of a mission, a feat so sweet. The update resonates in the blockchain’s vast sea, A ripple of our collective legacy. So here’s to the Nouns, with vision so bright, And the first proposal’s enduring light. May our endeavours forever entwine, In the ledger of time, eternally divine. Let us celebrate this moment in time, A chapter closed, a hill climbed. With hearts full and spirits high, Towards the future, together we fly.
LIVE COVERAGE UPDATE #2: Prop is in voting with ~3 days to go. Poap.eth came in hot with 22 votesWithoutReason against the prop. The race now sits @ 41 votes FOR, 33 votes AGAINST. It's shaping up to be a close one!
hoping that this become a good starting point + source of great builders. i like the experiment for a few reasons: - because gardeners are chosen by the dao, it gives it some degree of "canon" feel, albeit temporary - no (nouns) whale can single handedly pick winners - 2 x 5 ETH rounds seem like enough to merit the attention of great builders while small enough for the DAO to feel comfortable taking a lot of shots.
Voting AGAINST because it seems like the NFTR protocol has not gotten enough traction¹𝄒² to warrant funding for what is being proposed. I think it's reasonable to try to get a stronger signal of pmf before attempting to pursue a DAO, expand the team, etc. In particular, the DAO might be overkill for the stage at which the project is at. I’d love to see NFTR do well and ride the ERC-6551 wave (something I'm excited about as well) — I’d def reconsider my position with stronger signs of traction. Best of luck to Digital and respect for the hustle! I ¹ [Dune dashboard](https://dune.com/0xdigitaloil/nftr) shows an average of 5 namings per month from Jan - Jun 2023. ² [Contracts](https://etherscan.io/address/0xc662a8ce36392d4b9489d0b59605a1874711bfc6) show little activity as well
voting FOR because a tool to allow anyone to create (using noundry studio) and submit to the dao is powerful. i'm not a big fan of the noundry committee although using some of the funds to generate buzz around the tool makes sense to me.
Reposting the update submitted to prop #105 below. Updates re: the Prop House protocol will be continued on this prop (#183) What started 13 months ago is on the final stretch. We received the final audit report three weeks ago and are squarely focused on the final step: revamping the frontend so that it uses the protocol. We're expect to be done by the end of October. We've been keeping an updates log since January 2023 which you can find [here](https://hackmd.io/@cryptoseneca/ph-ships). Finally, to compare some stats shared on this prop when it was submitted to where we are today: | | Jul 2022 | Aug 2023 | |--|--|--| |Proposals|300|7.2k| |Votes|2.2k|24.2k| |Houses|5|71| |Awards|$200k|$3M+|

While I do think the ideas are good - I think having a team of 10+ while doing several things simultaneously is counterproductive. I’d reconsider if the prop was 1-3 people focused on executing one thing well (eg retro grants alone). Good luck!
Voting against because Nouns feels like an extension or add-on to another story. One of the trade offs in being able to ask for and receive large amounts of capital so quickly is that, much like internet culture and its memes, the creators have to be dialed into the culture in order to go viral. Works the same for Nouns. Props that showcase deep understanding of Nounish culture tend to be an immediate “fuck yes” as opposed to having to be thought through. Please reconsider and good luck!
voting FOR on the prop itself without the noun as part of payment for the work. another prop for the noun-as-reward contingent on how well this prop is executed feels fair. i would vote yes on the follow on prop if the team does a phenomenal job of creating and distributing the work created. otherwise, i'd vote against.
# Update proposal turnaround parameters The current proposal flow takes 10 days to complete: - 5 day voting delay - 5 day voting period This proposal updates three properties: - Turns on the editing period (introduced in v3) to 2.5 days - Sets the voting delay to 0.5 days - Sets the voting period to 4 days If passed, the proposal flow would take 7 days to complete: - 2.5 day editing period - 0.5 day voting delay period - 4 day voting period The main reason for the update is to move quicker. Post-fork, the size of the voting pool decreased significantly and is more aligned which should enable us to lower the time required to pass/reject props. The periods were chosen with the goal of having a one week turnaround time: - 2. 5 day editing period should be enough to integrate any minor feedback into a prop - 0.5 day voting delay to prevent voters from seeing outdated props at voting period start - 4 day voting period for voters to cast their votes ⌐◨-◨
while gnars has done a fantastic job as a community - i'm voting against this version of the prop to request for a better structured prop. i want to fund gnars, nounish skateparks, their operations and beyond but this prop does not give me confidence in who, what or how exactly any of this is being accomplished. if it does not pass, please consider reproposing. good luck!
voting yes because the japan community has been resilient and proven themselves. also think it continues to be a unique opportunity for nouns to grow overseas. if they don't sell, consider creative ways to bring exposure to the product - lots of attention from the right folks is a currency that is attractive to the dao. if neither are accomplished, i'd vote against further development. also - please consider using https://propdates-app.vercel.app/ to keep us up to date with the project. the more updates, the better!
while it does not seem to be an issue yet wrt spam - i do think upping the stake makes the candidate pipeline more manageable (would rather see 10 over 100s at any one point in time). too many (presumably lower quality) props breeds apathy.
I wish I had reconsidered submitting the first alien prop, as I failed to anticipate its second-order effects. Initially, I believed that the attention it would garner outweighed the extreme remote possibility of the proposal passing and the DAO symbolically acquiring a grail of its predecessor, Punks. Onwards
reVoteWithReason from toadyhawk.eth > "If you look at CC's budget and the popularity of the licenses and #CC0 online, it may look like CC is a huge organization with massive funding. The reality is we are a small core team of ~20 folks working with volunteers all over the world to make sure the commons thrives." ^ A quote from this thread from CC's Nate Angell, which is recommended supplemental reading to the proposal imo: https://twitter.com/xolotl/status/1686494261829914624?s=46 (If you have an hour to listen to the Q&A we hosted with him on TNS this week, it was also very helpful: https://twitter.com/i/spaces/1ZkJzXjEBaNKv) I believe strongly that Nouns should strive to be an active funder of Public Goods. We have funded Gitcoin in the past (twice), have donated to the Protocol Guild, and recently contributed to an upstart MEV relay sequencer; all as ways to support one of the core protocols on which Nouns was built: Ethereum. This proposal to patronize Creative Commons, the guardians and chief proponents of the very license that makes Nouns *Nouns*, is therefore not dissimilar to me. I hope this prop can be the beginning of a fruitful collaborative relationship between Nouns and Creative Commons. *sent from voter.wtf*
reposting v1 prop's reason: this is the sort of thing that is hard to imagine (korean stamp collection campagin) without a dao structure. voting for because it feels authentic + proven builders. *sent from voter.wtf*
ML fills the role of the charity arm for Nouns with brilliant execution. Most importantly though, Necfas understand the culture deeply. Happy to continue to support these efforts. *sent from voter.wtf*
The fact that anyone can engage via CC0 makes official collaborations through props all the more special - we should embrace that! Voting yes because it is a simple and fun prop that encourages cross-community pollination. Also, they mentioned NS, which is an underrated signal on the proposer's behalf. *sent from voter.wtf*

reVoteWithReason from ccarella.eth > I would prefer a smaller Prop that funds just the Nouns CC0 Gaming Toolkit and a decentralized game jam. *sent from voter.wtf* *sent from voter.wtf*
