# Quick correction on the Final Update ⌐◨-◨ Two small fixes to the numbers we posted: - The plastic recycled to produce the frames was **~15kg**, not 15 tons. Our bad — the impact is real, the zero was not. - The correct Instagram for our audiovisual team Berro Inc. is [@berro.inc](https://www.instagram.com/berro.inc/) — updated across all mentions. Thanks for keeping us honest, Nouns. 🙏 **Marinioac**
# Final Update | Prop 685 – Good Noggles: Prescription Precious Noggles for Kids ### Recicla Visão — Project Complete ⌐◨-◨ ![Captura de tela 2026-04-17 225120](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/B1_yFDlaWg.png) ![Captura de tela 2026-04-17 225004](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/Syd7LwxpWx.png) **We did it.** Prop 685 is officially complete. Here's what we delivered: ### **Key Deliverables** - **1,005 prescription glasses produced and donated**: we exceeded the original goal of 1,000 pairs. Each frame was made from recycled plastic, designed in three sizes for kids aged 8–14, with lenses by EssilorLuxottica and OBE spring hinges for durability. ![Captura de tela 2026-04-17 225042](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/HJRw8De6be.png) - **3,000+ children impacted**: through eye screenings, exams, glasses distribution, and recycling workshops across Rio de Janeiro's most vulnerable communities. ![exames (1)](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/rJL6wPgaZl.jpg) - **22 institutions across 19 territories** reached: including favelas, quilombos, public schools, and NGOs in communities like Complexo do Alemão, Rocinha, Morro do 18, Duque de Caxias, and one territory in Saquarema. We started with 10 NGOs and nearly doubled that. ![Captura de tela 2026-04-17 225115](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/rJiAPDl6-l.png) - **Mobile clinic van fully operational**: the Renault van was successfully refurbished into a traveling ophthalmology clinic and recycling station, reaching communities that have no access to eye care through traditional means. ![00027 - RECICLAVISAO EXAME _ HUM AGOSTINHO NETO • 2025 09 18 📸 BERRO INC. (@berro.inc @priisma_)](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/rkN88wxa-x.jpg) - **~2,000 kids participated in recycling workshops**: run by [Casa Plástica](https://www.instagram.com/projetocasaplastica/), the workshops taught kids about plastic waste, circular economy, and how a pair of recycled glasses is born. That's double our original goal of 1,000 children. ![oficina (2)](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/Bkn_dPxpZx.jpg) - **~15 tons of plastic recycled** to produce the frames. ![Captura de tela 2026-04-17 230550](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/SkIEPPx6bl.png) - **39 kids referred for specialized care**: beyond corrective lenses, we identified and referred cases of suspected glaucoma, keratoconus, retinal conditions, and other serious issues that would have gone undetected. ![Captura de tela 2026-04-17 225153](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/HyyiOvlabl.png) - **Press coverage delivered**: including a [**10 minute feature on RJTV**](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5wpeWES8v8), a live news program of Globo, Brazil's largest broadcast network. Full press report available at the [Looker Studio press dashboard](https://lookerstudio.google.com/reporting/848cce5f-799f-488c-b834-035bf2809ab7/page/p_tst03j8ind). ![Captura de tela 2026-04-17 234914](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/Hy1_ZOgTZl.png) - **12 reels + 30 photo albums** produced by [Berro Inc.](https://www.instagram.com/berroinc.cc/), documenting every visit, every pair of glasses, every child. ![Captura de tela 2026-04-17 225125](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/rktTOPxaWl.png) --- ### **One Thing Still in the Oven 🎬** The **Mini Documentary** is in final production and will be released by **end of April or May at the latest**. It tells the full story from the first sketches of the frame design to the last pair of glasses handed to a kid in a favela. This will be shared across all channels including Warpcast, YouTube, and Instagram. --- ### **What Happens Next** The project doesn't stop here. The team is continuing independently running workshops and maintaining the equipment so production keeps going on its own steam. Recicla Visão is now a living, breathing operation. On a personal note: [@marinioac](https://instagram.com/mari.salles_) is expecting a baby and will be stepping back to focus on motherhood for a while. But Precious Noggles and Recicla Visão production will keep running in parallel with Lil B (Lil Nick) -> because good things don't pause. 🍼⌐◨-◨ ![image](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/rkFPtPlpWg.png) --- ### **By the Numbers** | Goal | Promised | Delivered | |---|---|---| | Prescription glasses | 1,000 pairs | **1,005 pairs** ✅ | | Children impacted (total) | 3,000 | **3,000+** ✅ | | Recycling workshops | 1,000 kids | **~2,000 kids** ✅ | | Institutions served | 10 NGOs | **22 institutions** ✅ | | Territories reached | — | **19 territories** ✅ | | Plastic recycled | — | **~15 tons** ✅ | | Mini Doc | 1 | **In post-production** 🔜 | | **Budget remaining** | — | **$17k → taxes + Mini Doc** | --- ### Budget Status We currently have $17k remaining in the project multisig. More than half of the children we saw needed vision correction. Many would have fallen further behind in school. Some had conditions heading toward irreversible vision loss that no one had caught. Nouns made that visible. Literally. **The mini-doc is coming. # **Prop 685 Update #2 – Why is Precious Noggles on Flows?** ### **How Much Is Precious Noggles Receiving from Prop 685 and for What?** For 11 months of project management, **this is PN’s budget to execute the design and production of 1,000 recycled prescription glasses for kids, plus the design and production of a mobile clinic van and much more than recycled plastic noggles!** #### **11-Month Budget Breakdown:** - **Expenses covered by Prop 685:** $81,894.61 - **Labor to manage Prop 685 execution:** $27,220.00 ($2,474.54/month for the team) - **Total:** **$120,026.07** For full budget details, check the breakdown below or click [here](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15569pJVmRgDXOg1KoU9Q-poMZLvVGZOs/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=102693853879999385413&rtpof=true&sd=true). ![ONLY PRECIOUS NOGGLES EXPENSES AND PAYMENTS Budget.xlsx - Budget_page-0001](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/SJdPSZNq1e.jpg) --- ### **Why Does Precious Noggles Need Flows Contribution?** The recycled plastic noggles production and Prop 685 have different financial structures. Prop 685 only includes the purchase of **20 Noggles**, and by the end of its execution, this number might be even lower. To **continue producing recycled plastic Noggles**, PN needs funding for **maintenance and new machines**. Additionally, @marinioac has personally invested thousands of dollars in PN’s sales and development and hasn’t received payment for managing PN in the last **four months**. Most recycled plastic product companies require **far more than just a few hundred dollars** to sustain operations. However, since PN produces Noggles **on demand**, the cost to keep it running is relatively low. ### **How Flows Helps PN** **Flows income will keep improving production efficiency and boosting sales**, ensuring the project's sustainability. Thanks for reading! 🚀

Hi everyone, After careful consideration, I’ve decided to cancel this proposal and reallocate the funds from the international press media budget in Prop 685 (the prescription glasses prop). Things moved quickly, and I didn’t have the opportunity to consider this option earlier. While this is a valuable international marketing opportunity, I believe redirecting the funds will ultimately provide more value to the DAO. I am confident that this investment will pay off in the long run and help avoid any potential friction with the community. I appreciate your understanding and support as we continue working toward our shared goals.
# Marinioac invited to speak at Art Basel and Miami Blockchain Week following Prop 685 approval ### TLDR; [Marinioac](https://warpcast.com/marinioac), founder of [Precious Noggles](https://preciousplastic.com/noggles) and creator of [Prop 685 Good Noggles is a prescription Precious Noggles for kids forever](https://nouns.wtf/vote/685), has been invited by [Robin deLisser](https://www.linkedin.com/in/robindelisser/) to participate in Art Basel Miami and Miami Blockchain Week from Dec 2-8. Robin, impressed by the impactful work Marinioac has done with Nouns, crypto and recycled plastics, reached out after watching the [short film by Circle](https://www.circle.com/pt-br/stories/beyond-borders-usdc-a-global-community) and following the approval of Prop 685. From there, Robin invited Marinioac to speak and participate in at least 10 events during Art Basel and Miami Blockchain Week as a Nouns ambassador, highlighting the community's values of innovation, sustainability, and positive impact. To date, three speaking engagements have been confirmed, with the potential for three or four more. This exposure will help Precious Noggles expand its mission to create a positive impact for the planet. **This proposal seeks funding of 4,640 USDC for this marketing opportunity, which arose as a direct result of the approval of Prop 685 and, therefore, was not anticipated when it was initially submitted.** ![image](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/rkQHsCnfyx.png) [![image](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/H1ZB5bnzye.png "https://www.circle.com/pt-br/stories/beyond-borders-usdc-a-global-community")](https://www.circle.com/pt-br/stories/beyond-borders-usdc-a-global-community) ###### Reactions at the end of the prop --- ### About – Art Basel & Miami Blockchain Week Art Basel 2024 offers a variety of events spanning art, music, and blockchain. In 2018, Robin and her team created the first Miami Blockchain Week, blending art, music, and blockchain innovation into a week-long series of events. Since then, blockchain's presence has continued to grow at the event. This year, Miami Blockchain Week will also highlight sustainability and ocean conservation, themes directly aligned with Marinioac’s work through Precious Noggles. Art Basel and Miami Blockchain Week present a unique opportunity to showcase the positive impact of Nouns. Precious Noggles embodies all the key elements of these events: a female entrepreneur, product manager, and innovator recycling plastics into useful products while utilizing cryptocurrency to sustain her business. The organizers are honored to provide additional exposure to Marinioac and Precious Noggles during one of Miami's largest annual events. --- ### About – Marinioac **[Marinioac](https://x.com/marinioac)** founder and co-designer of Precious Noggles and creator of Prop 685, Marinioac entered the Nouns ecosystem in September 2022. Since then, she has stood out by winning and executing proposals across various fronts, including GnarsDAO, Lil Sisters, and Nouns DCS, which eventually led to the creation of Precious Noggles and Prop 685. Known for her innovative vision, Marinioac combines high-quality design with recycling education within the Nouns universe. @0xc2d4...e413 Thanks for your vote and feedback! Just to be clear, the prescription glasses for kids are gonna be regular ergonomics glasses. The connection to Precious Noggles is that they are gonna be made of recycled plastic, have the same quality standards, will be managed by the same team and the project will be CC-by-SA like Precious Noggles, so the Precious Plastic community can download and replicate the project, just like this: https://community.preciousplastic.com/how-to/nouns-sunglasses-mould > > > I love noggles but if they’re not a practical shape for kids who have these as their only prescription glasses I’m all for changing the design so they are comfortable and cool. I trust in your judgment in either case. Good luck and thanks! >

@0x65A3...1D63 Thank you so much for your vote and feedback! I understand the view of this proposal as a charity action, but it’s truly much more than that. The goal here is to elevate the Nouns brand globally by producing recycled plastic frames for kids that can be used as both prescription and sunglasses. Precious Noggles has already reached an international audience, especially with Circle’s film, and we’re receiving interest from places all over the world. This proposal isn’t about one-off charity; it’s a high-impact initiative addressing global needs while positioning Nouns as a significant force for change. You voted for Duna, which turns Nouns DAO into a charitable NGO. My proposal aligns perfectly with Duna's mission and goes well beyond charity alone. I’d love for you to take a closer look, as it truly embodies Nouns’ potential as a globally impactful DAO and brings strong impact data for future investors. > > > not a big fan of charity props -- I don't think nouns is the best vehicle for this type of work and I think it passes too often for large spends because people feel bad about voting against something "wholesome". > > There are many orgs out there explicitly designed to support charity flavored work. I don't think this is nouns superpower >
@0xC7CC...7d87 Thanks Stripymofo for your feedback and vote! Joshua has been to Nouncil a couple of times to give updates about prop #104. They are aiming to launch next year. Their proposal is different than ours. They scan each child’s face, 3D print custom-fitted frames, and produce them directly on the van. But I guess only Josh to explain more about his prop. > https://etherscan.io/address/0xc7c696c74490b1ae1b705d7a2a6058b5591de641 Ask Josh to partner up. Seems he’s having issue.
@0xFC53...6183 Thank you, Mike, for the feedback and vote! The first prop that caught my eye about Nouns was prop #12 for sure. I feel like Nouns is truly about spreading good ideas worldwide. Having an exam van in Brazil will reach countless kids in need from the slums who are dropping out of school simply because they can’t see well enough to read. While this proposal draws inspiration from #12, it’s quite unique. We’re aiming to create recycled frames and make them open-source for distribution within the Precious Plastic community. > > > the type of thing a lot of us joined nouns because of... but ngl, feels weird to fund essentially the same idea a second time, with a different team, years later, after the first one is still not finished. but hey.. yolo  >
@0x6fB5...83b0 Thanks Peter! I really appreciate both of your votes and all the feedback this far. I understand it’s a big ask. However, splitting the tasks will slow things down considerably, as I plan to execute them in parallel. > > > sorry, i have a weird feeling about this one and am going to trust my gut. maybe streaming payments or smaller more frequent proposals would make me a hell yes. voted yes in nouncil. gl >
# Good Noggles is a prescription Precious Noggles for kids forever # TLDR [Precious Noggles](https://www.preciousplastic.com/noggles), , in partnership with various organizations, presents an innovative project with social and environmental impact. The project involves creating a mobile ophthalmological clinic equipped with a Precious Plastic recycling station, designed to produce and donate eyeglasses made from recycled plastic to 3,000 vulnerable children in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The initiative promotes education, recycling, and sustainability, focusing on direct impact, broad media exposure, and mini-documentaries detailing the progress of the actions. In the long term, the project aims to assist 15,000 children per year and globally replicate the initiative through open-source molds and the noggles is going to be permanently displayed on the mobile unit, ensuring ongoing visibility and lasting impact, while expanding the reach and values of the Nouns brand across [Precious Plastic](https://www.preciousplastic.com) community and future enviromental sponsers. ![Image](https://ipfs.skatehive.app/ipfs/QmUjgzmmHvSKLMg9HvGrMMaGKBNWkaaat92Z2yVBz5SDWT) > a quick doodle by Ilustradora ## What is it? [Precious Noggles](https://www.preciousplastic.com/noggles), created from a [proposal approved by Nouns DCS](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ILFm8-OjhbkcvmbVbh7Zitq94T__jBch4J4zz1iXjs0/edit?usp=sharing), aims to connect the Nouns community with [Precious Plastic](https://www.instagram.com/realpreciousplastic/) community, **both CC0 brands** focused on innovation and high impact. After the success of the first initiative, [Precious Noggles](https://warpcast.com/preciousnoggles) is launching a more ambitious project: a mobile clinic equipped with a recycling station capable of producing eyeglass frames made from recycled plastic. The long-term goal of this project is to assist 15,000 vulnerable children in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. According to the Brazilian Council of Ophthalmology (CBO), approximately 19% of children between 6 months and 15 years of age experience some form of vision impairment, but 80% of school-age children have never had an eye exam. Additionally, the initiative will provide education on recycling in areas lacking waste management infrastructure, creating a positive and lasting impact on socially vulnerable communities. # Good Noggles is a Precious Noggles take on Nouns Vision # TLDR [Precious Noggles](https://www.preciousplastic.com/noggles), in partnership with various organizations and inspired by [Nouns Vision](https://www.updates.wtf/prop/104) proposals [#12](https://nouns.wtf/vote/12) and [#104](https://nouns.wtf/vote/104), presents an innovative project with social and environmental impact. The project involves creating a mobile ophthalmological clinic equipped with a Precious Plastic recycling station, designed to produce and donate eyeglasses made from recycled plastic to 3,000 vulnerable children in Rio de Janeiro. The initiative promotes education, recycling, and sustainability, focusing on direct impact, broad media exposure, and mini-documentaries detailing the progress of the actions. In the long term, the project aims to assist 15,000 children per year and globally replicate the initiative, expanding the visibility and values of the Nouns brand. ![Image](https://ipfs.skatehive.app/ipfs/QmUjgzmmHvSKLMg9HvGrMMaGKBNWkaaat92Z2yVBz5SDWT) ###### a quick doodle by Ilustradora ## What is it? [Precious Noggles](https://www.preciousplastic.com/noggles), created from a [proposal approved by Nouns DCS](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ILFm8-OjhbkcvmbVbh7Zitq94T__jBch4J4zz1iXjs0/edit?usp=sharing), aims to connect the Nouns community with [Precious Plastic](https://www.instagram.com/realpreciousplastic/) community, **both CC0 brands** focused on innovation and sustainability. After the success of the first initiative, [Precious Noggles](https://warpcast.com/preciousnoggles) is launching a more ambitious project: a mobile clinic equipped with a recycling station capable of producing eyeglass frames made from recycled plastic. The long-term goal of this project is to assist 15,000 vulnerable children in Rio de Janeiro. According to the Brazilian Council of Ophthalmology (CBO), about 10% of elementary school students need glasses, but 80% of school-age children have never had an eye exam. In addition, the initiative will promote education about recycling and sustainability, creating a positive impact on socially vulnerable communities. I, [Marinioac](https://x.com/marinioac), founder of [Precious Noggles](http://x.com/preciousnoggles), along with [Ilustradora](https://x.com/ilustradoraeth), the [NGO Visão do Bem](https://www.instagram.com/socialvisaodobem), [Casa Plástica](https://www.instagram.com/projetocasaplastica/), [Precious Plastic Cotia](https://www.instagram.com/preciousplastic.cotiabr/), [Easymoulds](https://www.instagram.com/easymoulds/), [Virei Notícia](https://www.instagram.com/vireinoticia/), and [Berro.inc](http://berro.inc/), are committed to carrying out a creative and high-impact project, fully aligned with the values of the Nouns community. Our focus is on promoting education, recycling, inclusion, accessibility, and health, while also aiming for a global reach. The proposal seeks to collaborate with open recycling projects, enabling the Precious Plastic community to replicate these initiatives worldwide, thereby amplifying the impact of Nouns. ### Short-term Deliverables: - Direct impact on 3,000 children from 10 NGOs in Rio de Janeiro. - Exposure in major national and international media, along with a strategic presence in Web3 platforms and events, ensuring broad visibility and global impact. - Release of mini-documentaries and generation of organic media content on the social channels of Good Noggles, Precious Noggles, and Precious Plastic, ensuring ongoing engagement and visibility throughout the project's development. ### Long-term Deliverables: - A mobile clinic and recycling station with the Noggles permanently displayed, designed to serve 15,000 children annually across Brazil. The children's eyeglass model will be licensed under [CC-BY-SA and globally replicated by the Precious Plastic community](https://community.preciousplastic.com/how-to/nouns-sunglasses-mould), promoting the Nouns brand and expanding its social and environmental impact worldwide. ## Why will Nouns benefit from this project? This project aligns with Nouns' core values of innovation and sustainability while directly contributing to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production). In addition to making a tangible impact in vulnerable communities, the project will boost the visibility and value of the Nouns brand, attracting new members and investors by demonstrating a clear commitment to global social and environmental causes. ![image](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/ByJFfYo0R.png) ### Social and Environmental Impact Aligned with SDGs **SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being):** Providing recycled eyeglasses to children directly improves their quality of life and academic performance, positively impacting the visual health of vulnerable populations. **SDG 4 (Quality Education):** The eyeglasses help children learn better, and the project also offers educational workshops on recycling and sustainability, further promoting learning and environmental awareness. **SDG 5 & 10 (Gender Equality & Reduced Inequalities):** The project ensures equal access to visual healthcare, regardless of gender or social background, contributing to the reduction of inequalities. **SDG 11 & 12 (Sustainable Cities & Communities & Responsible Consumption and Production):** The production of recycled plastic eyeglass frames encourages a circular economy and promotes sustainable consumption practices, establishing a globally replicable model. ### Brand Growth and Market Value Beyond its social impact, the project strengthens the Nouns brand by replicating the model globally, with eyeglass frames featuring the Noggles and the inscriptions "Good Noggles by Nouns DAO" and "100% Recycled Plastic" on the temples. The children's eyeglasses, versatile for both prescription and sunglasses, enhance the project's relevance in various contexts. The replicability ensures ongoing, global visibility and value for the Nouns community. ![engrave](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/rkwI7FoCR.png) ![image](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/BkGQXYsRR.png) ### Long-term Impact – Mobile Clinic and Recycling Station The mobile clinic, equipped to perform eye exams and outfitted with modular recycling machines, will have the capacity to serve 15,000 children annually across various regions of Brazil. The project merges visual health and environmental education while promoting the Nouns brand, with Noggles prominently displayed on the eyeglass frames and the sides of the clinic. Even with future sponsors, Noggles will remain visible, linking the brand to a lasting and global social impact. ![image](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/Hy_fEFiR0.png) ### Strategic Media Exposure The project will receive wide coverage from major media outlets such as Globo and CNN, ensuring broad visibility for the Nouns brand. A feature on Fantástico, Globo’s tv show, with an audience of 40 million viewers, will provide credibility and reach. In addition, mini-documentaries on social media and Web3 platforms like Instagram, Warpcast, and YouTube will keep the project in the spotlight, generating buzz and attracting new investors and members to Nouns. ### Attracting New Members and Investors The global replicability of the project allows recycled plastic eyeglass frames to be produced anywhere in the world, spreading the Nouns brand to unexpected regions. This creates opportunities for new members to engage with the Nouns community, increasing its market value and cementing its reputation as a global brand with significant social impact. ## Partners Involved **[Precious Noggles:](https://www.preciousplastic.com/noggles)** Founded by Marinioac from the Nouns DAO ecosystem and Joseph Klatt, a partner of Precious Plastic, Precious Noggles was sponsored by Nouns DCS in 2023 with the goal of connecting the Nouns community with Precious Plastic through the creation of the first 100% recycled Noggles. PP is lightweight, impact-resistant, and flexible, making it ideal for durable and comfortable frames. The use of recycled PP supports the circular economy, reducing plastic waste. Additionally, recycling allows for frames to be produced on demand, minimizing excess waste while letting children choose their preferred colors for personalization. This creates a more sustainable and inclusive process, ensuring each pair of glasses is unique and tailored to the child’s preferences. The lenses will be supplied by EssilorLuxottica, a world leader in optical innovation, known for high-quality lenses and cutting-edge technology. The glasses’ packaging will be made from recycled fabric, featuring personalized Noggles-branded cloths to encourage proper eyewear care and creativity.
